Have been receiving calls from this number and no one answers . Repeated calls everyday .

Called me at 7:30 am this morning Austin, Texas time.  They told me that my computer was infected with malicious virus activity, and if I would just turn on my computer, they would help me.  Worst call center etiquette ever.  I almost wish I had been recording this call for quality assurance and training purposes.  When I had objected 4 times, the caller balked then was followed by another individual who insisted that I turn on my computer and verify what they are telling me.   I hung up on these folks.

Receiving many calls has been calling several times a day from 512-647-1000 and always just stays silent when I answer. Still calling several times a day whether I answer the phone or not, usually there is just sounds of a call center at the background.  When answering machine picks up the call, no messages are left but stays on line for 10 to 30 minutes and ties up my phone line so I cannot receive any other calls.

Immediately after registering for new car prize through ?Dream Car Austin? in grocery stores ? this was followed by being swamped with multiple marketing calls from multiple numbers.  In addition, Dream Car  Austin (the distributor of prize registrants' personal information) called me with vivacious attitude - only to try and intimidate me to purchase a car from them.

512-647-1000 is part of a phone bank used for companies who want to present themselves as a having a local "presence". Unfortunately, it seems a spam telemarketing group with no respect for telemarketing laws are using this as a mask when calling local numbers. They call after allowed hours, can't answer basic questions such as the name of their company, or what they want from the call (in other words, they are not good at "selling" either) and their "location" changes each time they call. The last person said they were in Brooklyn. Why would a person in Brooklyn (NY, MN, India?) show a Texas number that is always "busy" when dialed back? Scam, scram, counting each call toward the FCC fines for violations.

My internet phone shows as 512 647-1000 when I call out. Apparently it just started today. What a crock. Avoid Skybeam internet service - they have lotsa other problems besides this in the central Texas area.

The person that called my company from this number was very rude and when I told him the person they were calling wasn't here he slammed the phone down.

My mother is calling me from out of state using a dial around cheap long distance service. For a year when she called, it always showed her home phone #.  For the past 3 days, it's coming in as 5112-647-1000  HOw can that be?
