I received a call from 512-949-3232. This is the 2nd time in 3 months. The number they call is a family that has nothing to do with this. They gave me the address of 919 Congress Ave, Suite #1250 , Austin , TX 78701.
They refused to give me their business name but after calling back, their answering service said Cochran and Associates. They told me they were sending the police (I live in south san francisco) to arrest me to check fraud. I will follow up and see what other information I can get , this has to stop.

Yup, the same thing happen to me in the past! I didnt restitute the check when they gave me a chance! Four days later I was picked up on REAL feloney charges that stuck like chuck! So what ever....I have done the check thing before! But theses people are taking s*** to the extreemmmm!!!

YES, I DIDNT LISTEN TO THE CALL FROM THIS LAWFIRM THINKING IT WAS B***S***... WELL TWO DAYS LATER I WAS ARRESTED ON FELONEY CHARGES FROM WRITING A BAD CHECK BACK IN 2008. I WAS PLACED INTO CUSTODY. I DIDNT GET OUT TILL MY SISTER PAID A CASH BOND OF 3 GRAND! WHEN I SAW THE JUDGE IN MY COUNTY JAIL HE THREW THE BOOK AT ME PLAYING THE CALL BACK IN COURT! SO YALL DO WHAT YOU WANT, BUT THESES PEOPLE ARE NO JOKE! THEY WILL PURSUE ALL CHARGES!

I received a call today from a number (214) 377-4799 from a Chriatopher Stone regarding a friend of mine. He said I was contacted because she had listed me as a reference. He then started to tell me that I needed to get in touch with her today and have her call him because she had felony warrants out and he needed to talk to her TODAY. I got all his information and said I would contact her. Of course I was worried about her and whatever situation she had gotten herself into. However, something just didn't seem right. So, I googled Butler Cochran & Assoc. to find out what type of attorneys they were. Well, well, well, lo and behold, it turns out they're not attorneys afterall. They are a Debt collection agency. I read all the comments about them online and one after another, were all just like my phone call. This just made my blood boil. So, I called Christopher back and a lady by the name of Melissa answered. She refudsed to transfer me to him, so I started telling her what I found out. The B*#@tch just went off on me. I can tell you one thing, I didn't just sit there, I went off on her too. It felt so good. She hung up and I called back. I told her everytime she hangs up, I was going to call back and harrass them like they're doing to our loved ones.

This also happened to me.They told me i had 2 hours to pay back the debt. I was terrified and almost payed them the money. It is a scam. I looked up alot of information about this. There is no way possible that a warrant could be issued for your arrest for a debt. I took out a payday loan in 2008 and couldnt pay it back. They tried telling me that i would be charged with a felony for check fraud and some other charges. They use these "scare tactics" to get people to pay debts. The reason they do it is because it works alot of the time. You can sue them for harrasment and false allegations. They still do it because they actually make more money getting people to pay their debt than they lose by getting sued so it works in their benefit even though what they are doing is completely illegal. I called the ftc and reported them. I encourage anyone else who is going through this to do the same. they will eventually be shut down. The reason the have all of your info is because they buy the debt from loan companies and get it from them. They are not lawyers as they claim to be. They are debt collectors. I hope this helps people. If they ever call you back, ask them for a name and address and this will most likely provide you with false information.

DID THEY EVER CONTACT U AGAIN

GOT A CALL FROM BUTLER COCHRAN AND ASSOCIATES AND SAID I NEEDED TO PAY 1050 OR THEY WOULD BE PUTTING OUT A WARRANT  FOR MY ARREST IF I DIDNT 512-686-4971 THEY TOLD ME I HAD 90 MIN  TO PAY THE MONEY. PLEASE REPORT THEM TO THE POLICE. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

yes i received a call from this number today 512-686-4971 they had all my information and threatened me with a warrant for my arrest and a felony charge for a check written back in 2008 that i did not write. i called the DA'S office too and they too said it was fraud. they wanted me to wire them 1222.21 but could not and would not give me the number to the person filing the complaint!!!!!! FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD

I received a call from this number yesterday and this morning regarding a bad check supposedly from 2008. They were very threatning and had all my personal information, so it seemed very real. They said they were calling from an attorney's office. We then checked with the Texas board and it was an inactive attorney. I also called the DA's office in my county to verify check fraud and nothing was found. IT'S A FRAUD! DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE IF YOU SEE THIS NUMBER.

I got a call from them today saying it was for check fraud. I havent written any bad checks and am doing research now.
