They call me and don't say a word.  If it is these Police Fund people, do NOT give them any money under any circumstances.  I knew a guy who did telemarketing in college.  They asked for money to spread awareness about Child Abductions.  If anyone donated any money, they received a one page Xeroxed form of some generic information about Child Abductions, and that is the full extent of "awareness" that the monies collected were used for.  The rest of the money, which was virtually all of it, was kept by the telemarketers.  Don't do business with anyone over the phone.  That's my motto

I just read the comment above (27 FEB 2008)  from the "officer" who "volunteers" his time.  Baloney!  If this fellow was legit, he wouldn't have to be posting anonymously.  People who are officers and members of charitable organizations don't slink around anonymously.  They are a scam, in my opinion.

Someone called from this number and asked for me by my last name. When I said yes, they hung up. i calledthe number back blocked and the number does not accept calls marked blocked. I unblocked the number and the phone rang several times. The call was weird and startled me. Any idea woh this is??

They've been calling here at least every week since December.  If one of us answers, they don't say a word.  Typically, we don't answer and they hang up on the answering machine.  Not a big deal...that's why I pay for CallerID.  Yesterday, however, someone from this phone number left the following message, "Hey [my first name], if you're there, please pick up."  No identifying information...nothing else.  Kind of a creepy way to get me to answer.  I will now be doing what I can to prevent them from calling back.

I see this number on my caller id probably about five days a week.  Today I answered and a man asked for me.  When I identified myself, he hung up.  I haven't been able to find out anything about this besides what you good people have offered.  Puzzling!

Got a call from this number this evening around 7:45 pm.  Answered on the 4th ring, but no one would speak to me.  Called back and it just rang and rang.  No one would answer.

Called today after we left for work, no message, won't accept blocked calls back. Called it no one ever answered... Identified as West Chester. Haven't a clue on this one! I hate them already though!

Got same call as others listed below.  I was able to get the caller to tell me his name and that he worked for Telcom Enterprises of OH
8982 Cincinnati Columbus Rd West Chester, OH 45069 Phone: (513) 759-8800.  He said they were to randomly dial calls starting with prefixes and tell the one who answers that they need to get the info out so they could contribute.  If you tell them no, they hang up, and call back.  If you redial the number no one answers.  I asked to be removed from their list and they immediately hung up.

this place is an actual telmarketing company and they do collect donations for police athletic leages and cops for kids and veitnam vets. i was an employee there for 2 months . and chris rutledge is really his name but he is some trailer trash guy that isnt very important at all and the main guy there is tony .im not sure what tonys last name is but i do jnow that they take your money. they snort cocaine back in the office i have witnessed it . thats why i got fired. but this is my way of retaliating and hopefully these guys get in trouble

About a year ago I got a call wanting donations for " Cops for Kids " where so called " Patrolmen " went to local hospitals and handed out teddy bears to little kids...I told the guy to send me the info and I " MIGHT " make a donation...I never got the info and needless to say I never donated...but for like the past 6 months or so about every 3 days I get a call from 513-759-8824, they do not say anything and after about 45 seconds they hang up....I would love to have thier home number so I can call and breathe on them....Idiots

I found out a little bit more information on this guy if anyone wants to know... his name is TONY THELAN and he claims to work for Telcom enterprise of ohio... the adress is 8982 cincinnati columbus rd,west chester,ohio 45069.... phone number is (513)759-8800..... so if you get a call from (513)759-8824 call the (513)7598800 number.... Be careful tho... this guy is probally the most rude person i ever talked to............ hope this helps..........

I have rec'd calls from this number several times & when you call it back you don't get any answwer it just rings & rings.....

This person keeps calling my mother for no reason. I think this is more than a wrong number.

Finally found out this # and all #'s associated with these other #'s is the work of POLLY MOBBS. I wanted to add for my own record here, that if another call comes through after today there is an issue. I called there main offices at 1-513-759-8800 and left a recording like everyone else did before me to have them take me off their list and stop calling. I was very polite, so it they call again the next reocrding will not be so pleasent. This is for my own record and anyone else that finds it handy in whatever form you may... :)

Called the 759-8800 number and they took me off the list of callers. The reason they can call you is they are non-profit. The do not call list does not apply to non-profit organizations.

when iI call Cin Bell Annoyance Call Bureau I am told that I must file a local police report before talking with anyone there

When I call Telecom Enterprises I spoke with a "Chris"...
he informed me this is all not-for-profit calling so therefore
they do not have to follow the rules for the Do Not Call Registry.
So it will do no good to contact them.

They have 8 people using the computers to call out at a time.
They dial 16 numbers at one time. He explained that I got no answer when I picked up my phone do to a computer "glitch", a dropped call or something of that nature.

He told me this particular number is for
Ohio Cops for Kids
and he is calling out of West Chester, Ohio.

I gave him my number and he says it will be removed from their calling center.

I hope I didn't make a mistake by giving my number out but I really need these calls to stop!

Calling and talking to "Chris Rutledge" will do no good.  I assume his name is fake, as Chris Rutledge is the name of the Telecom General Manager of Human Resources.  They just use that name because it sounds good, and if someone Googles it, it will show up as affiliated with the company.  When I called, he answered the phone (imagine that - the GM of HR answers his own phone) and was very polite, telling me that my number would be removed from the directory.  Of course, it wasn't.

I reported it to the DoNotCall registry, but as has been pointed out, they will/can do nothing because of the supposed non-profit status.

I have no problem (sort of) with people calling for funding, but they cross the line when they are rude.  These callers are rude.  I don't care what the couple of responses say about these people being "purely professional", they are not.  (Curious that both people who made good remarks about these callers used the phrase "purely professional" in their comments - plants from the call center, I suppose.)

The next time they call me, they are going to get an earful of full-volume heavy metal music while they wait for me to get the person they asked to speak to.  Mom used to keep a whistle next to the phone for crank calls.  Unfortunately, we're left with no other choice.

Called and asked for my wife, when I said she was not home they hung up.  I called them and got no answer.

I get these call all time day and night

I got a telephone at 4:00 p.m. where a gentleman asked for my husband by his first and last name. I replied by: He is'nt here right now can I take a message and I was rudely hung up on. I tried calling the number back that was on my caller ID several times and it just rang and one time there was a busy signal.

My son received this call for me and when he asked to take a message, they hung up.  I wish I could trace where it came from.  I called back and all it did was ring.

When I answered the caller, who sounded like a middle aged male from the border South, identified himself as representing an association of deputy sherrifs. He went straight into his pitch for a donation. I declined and started to explain that recent medical bills require me to cut back on donations, but he hung up before I finished. Did not say which county deputies he represented. Caller ID said the call originated in West Chester, OH, which is a suburb of Cincinnati.  I live two counties north of there.
