This 5143156779 number looks as if it is on a trunk, and that is why they get dead air, actually it connects and hangs up within 3 seconds.
I just got a call from this number and did some digging.  They were looking to "verify" my information, claiming they were from Yellow Pages Group. They didn't have any information to verify to me that they were yellow pages group. THis is why I became suspiciose.  I asked for a number to call them back at, she gave me another yellow pages group real 800 number in which I called.  They did know this was going on, and complimented me on catching on.   This telemarketer claiming they are yellow pages group is trying to collect information, and verify's who has authority at the business they call ( Yes Your cell might be listed as a business number) once they verify the info, well, collect it, they send a bill.  Not sure what they actually do, if anything, but it is a scam.

These bastards try to call around noon, several times a week.
Probably an automated calling machine;
Best way I found to get rid of them:
I have a "Blocked Call" option on my phone (not the costly option from telephone providers, but it is in the machine itself, it is free to use!); I can block up to 20 numbers. When they call, number appears on my called ID, & says the number is blocked in my list, but phone does not ring and does not disturbs anybody in the house..
I strongly suggest to get this number blocked (514)-315-2935; also their other number (514) 315-6779.

I have a regular Uniden wireless home phone. Next time ask for a phone that has this "Blocking calls" option, maybe other electronic companies do them too!

Daily harassment from this number. I now keep a whistle by the phone, when all their call centre slime are deaf hopefully the calls will stop. I have gotten off more call lists this way... it works!

I just got phoned again by them, picked it up and they answered, it was CIBC, I asked them to call us back after work and they will do so, according to them.

But if I read everything here, it seems like a scam.

2-N'importe quel personne ayant un system ayant la capacité de le faire peut afficher le numéro qu'il souhaite sur votre téléphone.  
 
3-La personne au bout du téléphone peut également répondre n'importe quoi à vos questions.
 
Donc, SVP contacter votre compagnie de téléphone pour connaître le vrai responsable de ces appels.

I have been receiving this caller id every day for the past few months.  I just pick it up and wait for them to speak and hang up or I just won't bother picking up.  I wish someone could do something about this.  For the time being I have blocked this number.

This number calls my cell phone nearly every day at all hours.  I don't answer it because I'm not going to pay for the airtime to talk to a telemarketer.  This has been going on for more than 3 weeks.   How can I get them to stop??

They called me on my cell phone many times. The first time I picked up but nobody was speaking. I've already issued a complain to DNCL. Hope they are going to stop calling me. Creepy company.

Donc, est-ce qu'il y a un moyen pour les empêcher qu'il rappel encore ! ou ya rien à faire ? À voir tous les messages affichés sur ce numéro j'ai l'impression que nous sommes pogné à recevoir ces appels sans but.

Hi, it's not a scam, the number belongs to Synergik, a company our of Montreal, Quebec. They are apparently hired by Yellow Pages to update database information on companies. You don't actually get any bills, etc.

Then why not give us your 'INFO'? And prove it.

The reason I got the company name is that I was persitent when the person called me in asking for it (as I had seen the note from angry guy, I didn't accept them saying they were Yellow Pages). I noted down the info and posted the information. I looked up the company and realized I made a mistake.

Again, DON'T give them your info. If you want to update your Yellow Pages listing, call Yellow Pages directly! (It still remains that I don't think it's a scam but this is just my opinion).

Caller claimed, he called from "YELLOW PAGE GROUP".
And needed to verify our company info.
So, my colleuage forwarded the line to me.
When I pick-up the line, it already hang up.
That's why I want to check more info about this phone number.
Found, I am not alone.
My opinion, it is OK for just checking the accuracy of info.
But if ask more than that ...... NO WAY!!!
Ask a number to return & search more info from web.

Funny, you speak of Yellow Pages... But the women I spoke to (5 minutes ago) told me she is from BMO and that they have new product on which I could be interested.  I politely asked to call back after 5PM (I'm at work, so easy to understand, and it gives me time to make some verification on the phone number).  Good thing I did !

2 weeks between last Yellow Page comment and my BMO call... They, scammers, switch strategy ?

I don't think she will call back, but if she does, I'll make sure to take as much info as I can.  I'll keep you posted.

I will cancel that. I try to phone, but no ring!

They have called me twice now, onces saying they were yellowpages and another time not saying anything. Creepy.
