This a.h. is probably calling you as a collector. You do not have to call him back, and you do not have to pick up the phone. There is no law that says you have to.

If you received a claim letter about a credit account or a loan, the calls might be about your debt.

If you are not too late in payments, and have not received a letter of claim for payment of a debt, then this a.h. is calling to harass you about the debt of someone else that the a.h. thinks you know. The a.h.believes his calling you will cause family or social problems for the person you know, and this harassment will get that person to pay his debt. This harassment is against the law and you should file a complaint with the Registrar of Collection Agencies in your province.

I got this morning a first time a call from this number saying that it is personnel and that I have to cal back another number with an code. I didn't do so. I called Bell and they do not have this number registered, so I went on the e-mail and found out more about it. Do you know if this is a real company or is this something not serious....I am  afraid what can happen. Please answer me.Do they still call you ??

Looks like some self-appointed debt-collector. I do not know who gave them my phone nuber. Judging by their calling pattern they appear to be psychos with an obssessive-compulsive behavior pattern. They need emotional help. I hope they get it.

they call twice a day most times did get a person once and told them they had the wrong number and asked them to please stop still calling 2 times today

I know that there is a collection agency called NCO in york region. Maybe this is who is calling?

Just sent a message and after doing so, dug out the letters to recheck .... the company was General Electric Capital Corp (and the GS location of the address as per the internet is around the area where the number 514-885-4444 is) ... either the Company name is legit but the address on the "form letter" I got is not theirs but the scam artist as I will now dub Rami el-whats'it or the Company name is altered somewhat.  Also the other company logo that appeared was NSC Financial Services Inc. (I think I put down the wrong initials of the same company) ... But this bit of info is now correct.

I really hope this info gets sent to the RCMP Fraud squad so this character and its cohorts get nabbed!

Rami el-asmar is the name on my phone display associated with the number 514-885-4444 -- been calling practically 5 days a week for some weeks now, at first 2x a day.  I never picked up.
Incidentally over this time period I got a "form letter" from one General Electric Accounts (the name NCO Financial also appears on one) claiming that I have an account with them, am delinquent in payment of XXX number of $ .... and demanded I pay IMMEDIATELY.  I have NEVER heard of them and certainly have NO account with such.  
Is this a muslim front for some terrorist organisation? If so, Immigration Canada, pay attention and track down this Rami whomever (supposing that is the right name) and boot them out of Canada.  I am presuming my name and info came from within a credit card company.  If so who is violating their company's code of client privacy ??  Find out and give them the boot ... there are many Canadians, good Canadians of all kinds, looking for work.
PS.  Operator of this email website:  are you handing these emails over to the RCMP Fraud department ... Is anything practical being done about this?

I keep getting this same call every couple of days too, it is the same as everyone else it says to call back a number and the call display says RAMI EL-ASMAR

this number keep calling my number and i keep telling them who are you and why are you keep calling here, they are asking for a person name who do not even leave in the house ,, it is always saying,, moment please we will connect you, then aperson come on,,,, or u wait on lthe line and never get connected

They have called me like four times today with caller id showing Rami-El ASMAR when i answer there is a voice mail in french and giving me a ref #. Is there a way to like report this to the authorities cos its really annoying especially when am at work.

i got a call from  that  number  and  when i pick  no one  answere me and then  i heard  a click  they  disconnected .......and I called back  on that number and it state the caller you  trying to contact is unavailable at the moment

every morning i got this unknown name ,I don't answer  this type of call.

Got a call from this number. The caller left no voice message.

They called so many times and it's really annoying...asked them to take my number out and they won't do it..is there any way that we can sue them?

It's a number that is linked to some company trying to collect unpaid bills for various companies.  Don't even bother.  That 866 number is for one of those collection agencies.

I´m receiving calls from this number for 15 days already, all the time they left voice msgs to call a 1866 .... number, I tryed the first time to call back to see who was calling me; but the number it´s a fax ........

I got a call from this phone number too, showing Rami Al-something and I didn't answer it. I don't answer unknown ppl or blocked calls anyways. They left no msg.

Got a call and it said that they were going to put me through to someone... Then it said that there were no available operators at the moment and it hung up... Weird... definite possibility of a scam.

received call today April 23, 2010 at 08:32 in the morning.
I picked up and there was no one on the line.
I called again and the response was that the person I am trying to contact is unavailable at the moment!

Same ting here, Rami El-Asmar. A pre-recorded voice ask me to call back, it's supposed to be  concerning "personal information". It call me about every two days. Make me loose minutes and patience.

I got called and it said that it will transfer me to an attendant - no such transfer took place (I waited 20 seconds) and i hang up.

i got the same call, they just left a message and  a 1866 number for me to call and an reference id number...weird

Got a call from this number: the woman knew a residents name and claimed to be collecting for a past-due "Reader's Digest" bill. Tried to demand banking and cheque information... possible scam?
