Just got a call and typed the no. on the internet..can't believe it..how'd they get my number?

An hour later I just got a call from 514-906-4850. I didn't answer. I'm assuming it's the same jerks that called per my post just above.

Next time, I will put Celtic Frost - Danse Macabre on the phone.

Just got another call from this number at 9:22 pm. I just lodged complaints about this number and (514)906-4850 with the CRTC (is if that will do any good).

I'm getting calls from this number anytime after 5pm. no messages, no one there....very frustrating and disruptive...the worst is that he is calling my business line....

fake numbers shouldnt be able to call people multiple times a day - do something about this already

Same as you guys, i'm in Montréal and i'm going to the cops with a print of this page and making a official complaint for harassment, everyone should do the same.

Il n'y avait personne à l'autre bout du fil... enfin... "personne", bref ça ne parlait pas. Il m'a fait le coup plusieurs fois en décembre (8 fois !), et deux fois ce mois-ci.

hey ben plutot bizare ce truc... meme chose que tout le monde pour moi.l'affaire c'est que c'est une longue distance pour celui qui appelle (dans mon cas) donc je crois que le prochain coup je vais laisser le telephone decrocher quelque temps pour voir...

This number has called 2 nights in a row, around the same time 6:00 pm. No one speaks and it disconnects after about 20 seconds. Very annoying.

These jerks are phoning me on a regular basis, and I am on the (useless) do not call list.

Calling almost daily here in Thunder Bay. I'm on the do not call list as well.

Just got a call from this number today, my husband answered they told him that by answering a short survey, he would qualify for a credit card. He had to tell them twice he was not interested, then he hung up.  We are on the national do not call list, but it is not working.  We have had several phoney calls since we have signed up and that has been more than a year ago now.

I am being harrassed in the same way.  Is there a telephone police?

This number called me at 6:35 pm ADT. I'm in NB, Canada. I said hello and there was no answer but I heard a bunch of people talking in te background, I said hello twice more and then they hung up without saying a word. I'll never answer this number again.

1 514-906-4851 has called us several times over the past week at different times during the day/night. On picking up the receiver and asking who's calling, the caller's line goes dead after a few seconds. We are on the 'No Call' list.

Received calls from both 514-906-4851 and 514-906-4850 - then was charged by Bell for .64 cents Long Distance to these numbers??  I have never called these numbers.

been receiving call day and night from this number 514 906-4851 and also one that show no caller number, its getting annoying!

Keep getting calls from this number, hang ups with no messages.  When I call back there's a fast-paced tone, like a busy signal but faster.  Don't know what to do to stop it.  I'm already on the do-not-call list but I've gotten more calls since.

DO NOT EVER PICK UP THE PHONE. Everytime you pick up the phone, the phone companies are making money. 4-7 cents a call. Tens of Thousands of calls a day. Millions of calls per month. Millions of dollars earned. YOU GET THE PICTURE. Profits are down dramatically since the arrival of SKYPE and VOIP.

"No answer" calls are dialled by computers. Computers can dial and complete one call every 30 seconds. 24/7. Computer software is cheap. Profits made are huge, driven by people picking up their phones. Only pick up numbers you recognize, or where the name/company shows on the display. If in doubt, leave it to the answering device. If your answering device picks up the call, THERE IS NO CHARGE.

Don't get fooled by "survey" calls, these are not surveys, just lames at the other end who get hired to dial numbers all day long for peanuts. Often you are dealing with immigrants or students, cheap bottom-of-the-barrel labor. These calls are only about increasing the profit margins for the phone companies. Yes, there are credit card scammers and the likes, unfortunately you will have to learn just as much about who's doing what, in order to keep your phone bills down. The cheapest way to do this, is via the answering machine. Private callers will, in most cases, leave a message. However, the latest phone scams (credit card re-balance, loss-of-weight scams) now use voice driven software, that will engage with your answering machine. THIS STILL WON"T COST YOU A DIME. Plus you can recognize easily the computer generated voice, introducing him or herself with a common first name.

Don't pick up the phone. Save yourself the aggravation.

Telemarketing... sujet de sondage: Habitude de consommation de supermarchés (ie: IGA/Metro, etc.) facon de payer (débit, carte de crédit, cash, etc.)... pourquoi n'utilisez pas la carte de crédit? Accumulez-vous des points style Air Miles, etc... votre age, revenue de foyer, alouette.

Ils ont appelés une 10e de fois avant que je réponde (oublie que c'était un # de telemarketing)

Hii, I have the same problem. Yesterday(7june) afternoon they called. My mom answered, say hello and after few seconds of nothing she hung up. Today, when I was playing game with my little bro' this number call again, i said "Allo" i waited and repeat "allo" and a girl said "allo", so i waited few seconds, maybe it was an aunt from Montreal and i said "bonjour" and they hung up.
This evening, almost the same number call, but it was 514-906-4850 called, my step father and me took phones, and it the guy, he had an accent, but i don't know from where, and he asked about our shopping habit, i hung up, my father too. That's very annoying and i hope it won't happen again.

saterday 12pm april 09 -- quand j'ai repondu hello, il m'amonce un sondage sur l'alimentation dans mon secteur, j'ai demandé combien de temps? il ma répondu "quel connard, il est intéressé.... so i said PARDON!!  he replied "il a dit pardon and laughed!!   so i hung up and search google !  weird

J'ai reçu 4 appels de ce numéro. Le premier était jeudi soir, le 19 mars 2009 et les 3 autres aujourd'hui le 22 mars 2009. Sur mon répondeur, j'entends une voix de filles qui semblent rire. J'ai tenté de rappeler, mais on me dit que toutes les lignes sont occupées. J'habite à Sept-Îles, sur la Côte-Nord! Quelqu'un a-t-il réussi à s'en débaraser?

I believe it's a telemarketer (I'm on the do not call list) just looking to raise the number of calls he/she makes to people.  They have a quota they have to get and calling people and then hanging up is a easy way to get their quota.
