He was quite the idiot who called me. I asked for a manager right away, and said he'd get him. In under 5 seconds the guy came back on the line and changed his tone a bit saying he was the manaher! I told him about the do not call list and that what he was doing was illegal. Then he asked to talk to my wife, so I said theres no reason to talk to my wife. He responded with "So I can f%$# your wife". I was pretty shocked and couldnt get a word in before he hung up.

I guess if people become smart enough not to buy into these scams they'll stop happening!

I also received that call from HYDRO POWER SAVER,But you can believe that i m saving every month 40 to 60 $ by putting this devices and one more thing there is no any SCAM!

Ha! I too got the call today. I have an engineering background so I asked a bunch of questions. None were answered in any satisfactory way. Only that this was German technology, it has a capacitor and reduces spikes caused by older appliances. Capacitors have this quality. They hold a certain charge and regulate current further down stream. If a device like this is to work, it has to be in line with the meter. In other words, all the electricity used in the house must pass through the device. Simply plugging it into any outlet in your house is pointless. Regardless of how old your house and it's wiring are, you can't "lose electricity" due to age. This is a complete scam. Also, buddy (whose name was George Michael. That alone made me smirk) claimed to know how much my electricity bill was last month. The amount he quoted was way off the mark. I asked for a website, and he gave me savehydropower.com. I had a look and it's pretty cheesy and the spelling and grammar are atrocious. I asked if I could call him back he ave me the number 416-800-2092 ext 2323

Don't give these people any of your info, but keep them on the line and waste their time if you can spare it.

Josee.... if your hydro company gave anyone your hydro information...(without a warrant) they owe you some money ...breach of the "privacy agreement" its in small letters perhaps, ha but its there...and the would appear nicely in front of any court.  Good work with not falling for it... Everyone ..Take your time when talking to these people who call over the phone...not all are scams out there, even if they are annoying...if you are somewhat interested (or at least intrigued with what they selling) get their info or have them call you back ..AFTER..you have researched them ...the product...if its legit....and if this is actually useful to you. There cannot be enough said about taking your time and getting all the info...think of your credit card as your body...you would just give that out ...to just anyone...soooo beware ...and as another on here has said if ya got time ...and want to laugh and are pretty sure its a scam ....have some fun with them ...

I received "the call" today, and what they said to me on the phone....is a lot of what you have said here..so i would say ..that this you...so I'am not sure how your scam works ...but ...i do know this ...the guy "Kevin" you transferred me to is a real piece of work...First off get your S**T straight......Canada Post cannot verify for you if my credit card info is correct....you are the one running the number...soo..having said that, the other thing is ...you are working the scam too hard ...for most you are to desperate... and you really need to consider being more patient... getting upset with people when they take too long is a give away ...oh yes and another thing you really...really should not  hang up on the person, saying "have nice life" laughing...I would not give you my real card number for anything...and most wont...and another thing ...just me ...but im always shy when it comes to any call selling me something that i didnt ask for .... Got a call from the same people less than a hour ago. Blocked number but when I asked for info so that I could do research he gave me savehydropower and the same phone number as above where I could call back. I didn't bother to call the number. Something was telling me it was some kind of a scam. Said I would save 40% on my power bill. When I asked how he knew how much my power bill was he said that he'd gotten a copy from the federal government. Beware people! I am wondering how many poor people are being ripped off by these guys.

Yes, very much the same type of selling from a person that has an accent and speaks fast. He had mentioned that the savings would be like 60%! ........ I guess that the tactics picked up more now!

I just got a call from Hydro Power. I had a heck of a time understanding what he was saying to me. They spoke extremely fast and big time accent!
Finally I understood that it was a device to help us save on our electrical bill. They kept repeating that I was chosen because I paid high electrical bills and I was part of a federal program to help people lower their bill by 40%. I started with a rep, Dominic Salvador,then switched to senior manager then off to the dispatch department and spoke to a Kevin. All along I asked if this device was sent first and then get billed later..they always said yes. But the dispatcher said he needed a credit number to secure the device, thats when I had a gut feeling it may be a scam. So I said I had no credit card. End of story!

Yeah...just got the call from this same company, guy had an accent was somewhat difficult to understand. The usual pressure to save money on hydro. I said no, they became insistent so I asked for the company name - Hydro Power - and asked for e-mail address - savehydropower.com - and the number 514.907.7451. Looked up the address and here is all the scam info....thanks! Glad I listened to my gut instincts. I did ask how he got my hydro bill to begin with and he replied "from the federal government".
