got a text on my cell that my ATM was deactivated and to call. What a scam, don't even bother 2 call back. Scumsuckers.

Hey there everyone one.
I have gotten a text message from this number on two different cell phones.
It is telling I have to call this number asap cause my credit card was deactivate. I know they are just trying to get my credit card number but just wanted to let everyone know and see if anyone else is getting them also.

they send me a message at 10.57pm about my debit card being deactivated. Automated message from NCUA.
I don't buy it. What a big deal to have deactivated debit card. Better call your bank and check it out, but do not call that 515-678-9538 number. It smells like scam.

I just got a text message that said "Notice/ This is a automated message from NCUA.  Your ATM has been deactivated.  To reactivate call urgent at 515-679-9538."

Who's NCUA--what's that stand for?

I just got this message and it was really odd that this bank that isn't even mine would send me a txt msg. But then, I realized it was probably just a scam. To confirm my instinct, I put the phone number in a google and I found this site.

Just got the message from Point Bank that my atm card was deactivated. I'm in Texas and dont use that bank.

I got a text from that number right now talking about my debit card is deactivated if I want it back to call the number I called and it just said press one to activate press two to exit I pressed two and went straight to the internet to figure out who or what company it was and I came across here.

So beware of these weird things, think about it what real company would send u a text message!?

got this text today--- caller id 5000; same message: telling me that my payoneer account/ MC prepaid has been deactivated.

I also got the text from NCUA, ATM deactivation.

I got the same text on Sunday at 2:15 p.m. reportedly from "point bank" which I don't have.  I wonder if it has anything to do with the cell phone carrier?  I'm with T-Mobile.

Definately T mobile is responsible when the caller ID says 5000.
Call t mobile and complain and threaten to switch your provider.
If they get enough complaints, maybe they'll investigate and put a stop to this vishing.

Im getting nausous reading all of these same stories as me! Got a letter in the mail from my bank last week saying that some accounts may have been compromised and that they were issuing me another card.  I then received the bogus notice from "Americhoice FCU" with the 515 number.  Called my bank to cancel my card, and then out of curiosity I called said 515 number, and it said that the "mailbox is full".  Now, what business has such a mailbox??  I hope those people were all complaining, and not giving out their real info!!

(516) 678-9538 My boyfriend got a text message on his cell stating that his ATM card has been de-activated.  He does not have an ATM card!  This was received on a T-Mobile cell phone that he pays on a month-to-month basis.  Scram, scam!

I also got a text message from this number telling me to call a 515 area code number which is based in Iowa. The message said that my Americhoice FCU card was deactivated. when i called it the message said to reactivate my card press 1 and to end this phone call press 2. I called the actual Americhoice bank because I dont have and account with them and they said this is a scam that has been going on for a while.... DONT BUY INTO IT!!!!

Received similar txt.  Last month Monster website was breached, does anyone think this might me related?  does anyone have Monster accounts?

I got it also - around the same time you posted this actually. I'm going to assume you and I are using the same bank - the 515 area code isn't even from our state.

I also received this text message.  I do not even have an account at First Interstate Bank.  The message told me my ATM card had been deactivated.
