Got a call today. Didn't answer & they didn't leave a message. All it kept saying is "Thank you for using AT&T for your local calling toll." when I phoned the number back. So FRUSTRATING!!!

515.700.0000, Des Moines, 18-Mar-2014 15:00 CT. Something about my credit card rates are too high. Carried on a 10 minute "conservation" about asking to be removed from his calling list... and "no, wait, listen to me, your credit card rates are too high...". Little does he know, I do the Dave Ramsey thing, and cut up and cancelled my credit cards years ago. His closing words prior to hanging up on me were "Alright then, I'll cancel all your cards". Too funny. Surprised he wasted his time on me. He's destined to be a broke telemarketer. :)

My wife and I continue to receive these calls even though we dont have any credit card debt. She ignores the calls, but I have asked them for a superviser and repeatedly tell them to stop calling me. Every week I get another call, but the number is usually different. Today, March 14, 2014, both our phones rang at the same time from this 515-700-0000 number.

My husband, my friend and I each received this call yesterday. card paymen and lower my interest rate. Knowing this was a scam as I work for an identity protection company, I said sure. He asked which card had a higher balance, my MasterCard or visa (I don't even have a visa). I said I can't remember but you have my accounts there, why don't you tell me? Then he started saying "hello?" Like the line had disconnected and then he hung up. Hahaha Gotcha!
Another favorite it to dial these numbers back (this one doesn't work tho) and let my babies talk or cry into the phone. Or better yet, hold the phone over the toilet and flush!
As with all things in life... the key is to be safe but HAVE FUN!

The bad news: Card Services calls aren't going to stop anytime soon.
The good news: You can retaliate, reduce the misery, and even have some fun.
RETALIATE:
Waste these turkeys' time. Keep them on the line by acting like an interested prospect. Give them bogus data, including a combination of two different credit card numbers, scrambled Social Security digits, and a ZIP Code that's slightly off. Note: providing a credit card company's real 800 number is key to prolonging the call.
After they call the credit card company, you can give them the same credit card info as before with two of the numbers transposed, thus causing them to make a second verification call. Or you can respond, "Guess what ... H-O-O-N-N-K-K [from a $6 air horn] you've been PRANKED! Call back tomorrow for more bullshot." Now they're the butt of your joke rather than you the victim of their harassment.
REDUCE THE MISERY
Landlines. Enroll for the free service at nomorobo.com. Simultaneous ringing, a feature you can enable with many providers, enables nomorobo to receive, answer and, after one ring, hang up on nuisance telephone numbers.
Cell phones. Block the number, an option that becomes available on the iPhone if you click on the "i" on the right in the list of recent calls and scroll to the bottom. Unfortunately, Card Services will keep calling from new spoofed numbers, which eventually should motivate you to retaliate.
HAVE FUN
Turning the tables on the perpetrators with mischievous deception and the news they've been duped provides instantaneous vigilante satisfaction. Plus you serve your fellow call recipients by slowing down this evil operation's efforts to defraud them.
