New York State Department of Grants as the caller stated. I asked a series of questions and the caller hung up. Must be a scam.

new york state department of grants wants my bank acccount number to deposit large amount of grant money and i want to know is it a scam

I recieved the same call, did they actually ever deposit the money onto your account?

I got the call yesterday. Asked a series of questions. The name attached to this phone is Carolyn Cooper. Her accent did not portray that name though. I never gave out any info but you could tell this was a scam. If you did give them your bank account numbers, call your bank right away and let them know to shut it down. It may not have happened yet, but they will wipe you out. I see it every day. Call and report it to the FBI

Got the same call today. They said i was approved for a government grant of $30,000 and to check my debit card in the morning. I gave them the pre-paid card info and mine because I don't use that card and it has a $0 balance. Figured if I get the money great, If I don't, no harm done. But they asked a series of questions about why i thought i got the grant, and then told me a list of reasons why. Never asked for money, and gave me a call back number. It all really does seem like a scam to me, And it seems like no one has gotten the money. I would think as a government agency they would already know why the grant was approved. I'm gonna assume it's something i filled out for school or a scam. But not counting on it at all.
