I received a phone call today from a company called Laurel Hills. They asked for me but I said "she wasn't  here". They said they had sent me some paperwork in regards to some money that the state of NY owes me. I've never received such paperwork. They left the 855-430-3850 phone number and asks that I call them back and then gave a case number. I called back and a recording said that all of their operators were busy helping other customers and that I should leave a message. A few months ago I found some minimal unclaimed money of mine in NY so it can't be that. It all sounds very sketchy!

received mail from laurel hills yesterday. phone number they gave me to call was 855-430-3850. they claim I have money coming from abandoned land in kentucky. the only land i own in kentucky i'm living on!!! will take this paperwork to the post office this morning and give it them. looked up phone number and address online phone not listed, address doesnt exist.       SCAM!!!!

You should look on your own to see if you have unclaimed funds out there from a prior mortgage, escrow refund, an insurance policy, etc.  You can collect on your own without using these people or any similar "service" - but assuming they didn't have the wrong name/contact info when they called you - the fact that they called you means there is a good chance that you have money owed to you and a good chance that it is a decent amount (otherwise their fee wouldnt be enough to make it worth their while to call you).  You are probably on an "unclaimed funds" - try googling your state's unclaimed funds list and see if you are on it.

I received a call from these guys - don't plan to use them, but I do have a refund due to me from PMI that I paid on a mortgage for my first home years back (PMI premiums on FHA loans are refundable to you in certain cases).  I haven't collected mine, but there are people out there (like the Laurel Hills) that make a living by scanning for unclaimed funds and then contacting the people that are owed money.  They collect a fee for basically filling out the paperwork for you and getting you the money you are owed (it is one of those infomercial/work from home things).  The fees may or may not be fair (it is something you can do yourself) but the concept at least in my case - is legit.  I have a small amount unclaimed funds, that hasn't been worth the hassle to get.  But when I do get it - I will do it myself rather than pay someone else.  If you got a call, it may be worth checking if you have unclaimed funds out there - whether you use this company or not.

Caller claimed to be from Laurel Hill Advisory Group. Said I had money coming to me from the State on a home I used to own. When I asked clarification on the money, (from who, for what, etc) he couldn't clarify. They had previously mailed me the supporting documents. I didn't believe it before but after the call I was very suspicious. I read the documents very carefully. It was a full power-of-attorney application. Had I signed and submitted this documentation like they wanted they would basically take legal ownership of the home! Don't fall for this scam!!! Do what I did and shred, delete, block.

Received a call from this number. They claimed to be "Laurel Hill Advisory Group." They said they had sent me paperwork regarding assets being held by my home state which the state wanted to return to me. They brought up an address they had sent it to which was many years outdated and asked for my new address. Gave me a case number and call back information as well.  

I received a call from Jeanette. She asked if I received any paperwork from her company stating I have money due me from sale of home in California. She gave me the amount due to me of 14 hundred plus dollars. The company is Laurel Hills Assets. She wanted me to verify that address in California. She had all the information, and wanted my new address to send paperwork. I have not lived there since late 80's. What do you think? Hummmm

Who is this-calls, but leaves no message-this is harrassment!
