called cellphone did not answer - the machine or person stayed on long enough to be picked up by the voicemail but there was no voice.

According to my credit card company this is a scam and your credit card interest rates can not be renegotiated by an eternal company like this.

The key to knowing this is a scam is...
1. They charge your credit card before services are rendered.
2. They are calling your cell phone and your credit card company only has your land line.
3. They ask for your name... Your card company already knows your name ...
4. They claim to represent hundreds of credit card companies.
5. They ask you for the last 4 numbers of your social security number.

Remember once you confirm the $500+ charge they are putting on your card its done. You will not e able to get hat back because you confirmed it.

Never give out your personal information over the phone!!!!

Jus got a call from this number. I did not lift. No voicemail left!!

516-453-5645 called me on my cell, claiming to be calling because they got my number from Experian. Then they contradicted themselves by implying I was one of their existing customers.

The call started with a recorded call asking me about lowering my rate on an existing card and that I had a limited time frame in which to do it. They asked me to press 1 if I were interested. I did so to inquire/enquire why and how they got my address.

During the call, I reminded her that it was illegal to call wireless numbers unsolicited. She did not give me any way of proving that she was who she said she was, continually claiming she was from "Cardholder Services". I have worked in a legitimate bank outgoing call centre and I know that you only say that when you do not get the accountholder on the phone (for privacy reasons), but you give the full trading name once you establish you are talking to the accountholder. They also didn't offer something like the last four digits of one of my credit cards or my birthday to prove themselves either.

I consider that I stayed quite calm during the call, but she became belligerent during the progression of the call and eventually chided me by saying I was being rude and that it wouldn't get me anywhere in life. She said to have a bad day and hung up.

If they were a legitimate call centre, I would be asking for a supervisor about now. However, they appear to be a shady outfit, so there wouldn't be any point doing so.

On a related note, the number she called was recently issued to me. I give virtually everyone my Google Voice number instead of any of my past or present cell or landline numbers. She claimed she got the number off Experian, but they'd be the last of the people I'd ever give it to, and she then went on to say that I must not be telling the truth. That all said, it's possible they got my number of CNAM data from my (new) cell telco (I believe I saw my cell CNAM and address data already on Intelius's website). But within the space of three weeks? It seems a bit of a stretch to me, even if it is possible.

what does it really mean for you that they have time to complain about something so dumb and you have time to complain about them complaining?  But anyway, I didnt answer this either but my phone got compromised during a job search and some fakey applications netted my number. I've received 'lower your interest rate' style messages and offers for magazines. How dare they.

They called me about lowering interest rates.  I pressed "1" to talk to a representative to tell them not to call me and ask where they got the number.  They hung up before I could say anything at all.

I also just got a call from this number.  Didn't answer.

got this # on my cell.  I ignored the call and they didn't leave any voicemail.  I don't have this number listed, and I don't give it out to any credit companies.  It seems like they have a computer dialing random numbers and trying to get information.

Weird the name that popped up was disconnected. I didn't answer and when I tried calling back it kept saying all circuts busy. This is just a phone spam number.

Called at 12:30PM, Went to answer, dead line, called back and its for a police academy donation line... FRAT ORD POLICE showed up on the caller ID.

also got this number today. very annoying.

They just called me on my iphone here's number that came up:  516-453-5645.
They left a voicemail with a recorded message saying "lower your interest rates to 6.9%..."
DON'T ANSWER IT! It's phone spam.

Report this number to the ftc.  It is illegal and it is a scam trying to get your card numbers.

Annoying, true, but "how dare you?"  Don't you people have anything better to do than write angry messages about those who dare to invade the sanctity of your phone?  Go outside or something!
