Just received a call from this number. Left a message stating they can help reduce my tax debt and lower my payments to the IRS in regards to back taxes. I don't owe any of that. Whoever invented to DO NOT CALL registry needs to do some major updates. I have placed my number on there numerous times and it just doesn't seem to work. GRRRRRRRRR

I am getting tired of receiving recorded phone messages about " How to lower your tax debt". This person needs a real job. I am sure that the Better Business Bureau would like to know about your selling tactics.

Got a call from them at 2:17pm central time on my do not call registered cell phone. I did not recognize the number so I let it ring on over to voice mail.  No message was left.  Google search brought me here.

Since I've gone all cellular, I have to pay for minutes every time I answer or place a call. Thus these scammers can often become costly distractions, if you let them.

1st step.. So.. I stopped answering calls from ANY number, I myself or my cell phone directory doesn't recognize.   If that's the price we must pay these days.  so be it.. the government/mega corps created this irritating mess, they need to clean it their act and fix the system.

2nd step.. Add the phone number of these frequent callers/scammers to a private ROBO list, (or unique ringtone list), if you can.. When I hear my Panasonic phone announce robo NNN.. I ignore the rest of the rings.. At my convenience, I google these fake caller id  numbers and find these web pages with hundreds of complaints..

3rd step..  Don't setup the voice mail on your cell phone which hosts your home number), leave it fallow..so it will Answer calls, but not take any messages.. Each time these scammers ring through to my little black hole, it will cost them 5 to 6 cents.. (connect fee + 1 minute of talk time).. But it doesn't cost you any air time or money..

Fringe benefit.. Get's rid of all the politico, survey, and non-profit org calls using the same method.

Send a message to our stupid government leaders.. fix the system or we'll discard the whole mess into the trash can of history..

I just received one of those "lower your interest rates" calls. I love them because I frustrate the hell out of the caller. First I ask which credit card he is calling about. The guy rattles off a list. MasterCard, Visa, Discover etc.. I ask him to narrow it down. Give me a card number. He can't. Then I ask which bank he is representing and again he rattles of a list of banks.
I ask him what he is looking for from me. He says " I can lower your interest rate to 6% or lower."
I ask him if he can give me any of my personal information such as address last 4 digits of a card, anything to let me know he is legit. He is stuttering by now. I tell him I am not comfortable with this call and am going to end it.
"Well am not going to lower your interest rate!" is his response. I'm shocked! It is so much fun. Try it.

Called the number back.  No option to opt out so I pressed 1 to speak with a "friendly customer service representative".  A female rep answered by stating "you pressed 1 to lower your credit card interest rates, is that correct?"  I responded "no, I pressed 1 so that you could remove my number from your database".  Click!  Yep, that friendly customer service rep just hung up.  Have placed that number on my do not disturb list with my VOIP vendor!

This recorded lady has called me from different US and Canada numbers for months.  She always announces that she's from the Credit Card Center and has an important message.  She goes on to say that there is no problem with my credit cards (how does she know, I might have a big problem and she has no clue).  She's trying to lower my payments.  What payments?  I pay each bill as it comes.  I've notified the Fed do not call folks many times, but these guys just keep changing numbers and I expect I'll spend the next couple of years dealing with their interruptions from a myriad of phone numbers.  There ought to be a way to zap them from our end!

Having worked for an insurance company in the past that did cold calling, I can tell you first hand DO NOT CALL list only work so far. Many companies now get their info from mailing list companies. If you go online and request ANY type of Insurance Info, you go on someone's list, which will be sold to anyone willing to pay the price. Screening is non existent and most computer gurus know how to use bogus numbers via the auto dialers to make it virtually impossible to track them. NEVER, EVER, give personal info on websites, especially your phone number. YOU WILL wind up on one of these lists.

This rolled to voicemail, but the caller ID has a number that I wanted to get out in public.  The "0628" part appears to be the date of the call.  Anyone know what the other numbers mean?  Is this some sort of license number that can be used to track these crooks?  We get calls repeatedly from these odd caller IDs.  We are on the DNC list, have an unlisted number that we pay the phone company to keep private.  In the past we have answered and asked to be removed.  These crooks just keep calling with their credit scams.  Suing does indeed appear to be the only way to stop these calls, as the complaints on FCC do no good.

I'm in the process of suing them in small claims court. If enough people would do it, they would be out of business and stop calling. Yes, I'll take a few thousand from them, but we need more people to do it.
Here's how I found out how to sue them. http://www.ucan.org/telecommunications/landline/how_to_sue_telemarketers

Good luck and remember to log those calls!!

Seems like these calls are never ending. I picked up, a rarity for me with an unknown number, but the caller id said "Manhasset", and I am coincidentally waiting for someone to contact me from that area, hence the pickup. As soon as I said "hello", what ho, they hung up. Another number to add to the scam list...creeps

I got a call from this # about 2 hr's ago.  My caller ID said "Lower Interest".  I was told that I could lower interest rate on my credit cards, American Express, Capital One & Chase!  I was asked for the last four digits of my cards, plus the last four digits of my soc. security #.  They said they would lower both credit cards to a low 6.9% and it would go down to zero % over time, all I had to do was make minimal payments, and I was chosen for this low interest rate program because I make my payments on time every month, but the minimum rate of payment would take a long time to pay off, so in lowering my finance charge on these credit card accounts I would only have a $4,000 transaction fee added to the account which would still be a savings with the lower finance rate.  I'm reporting this to our credit card company's!
