Called but left no message.

I received call from this # they said they are kind of foundation for cancer survivors, they asked for $12 a year. I assumed it a scan so denied it. The name on the screen said Garden City NY

in past I used to trust if they sounded legit.  but often won't take no for an answer.  so after asking to be mailed or emailed info then I'll decide if I wanted to contribute to the PBA, a few days later two guys came in a car to my house.  High pressure tactics.  I felt uncomfortable.  Those guys acted like Mafia wanting a contribution saying they were from the PBA.

finally convinced them I wasn't budging on saying NO.

now, I contribute to who I want to.  anyone that calls, as there is no way to know who's legit and who's (probably most often) not, I say no thanks and hang up.

I rec'd call soliciting for Police Dept. PAL.  I contacted our police and asked.  It is a legitimate organization which is hired to raise money for the law enforcement departments in each area--money which is raised to help needy children in the area.  Not a scam, but they could be more courteous, for sure.

The guy said he was calling from NY park police, when I told him I know they do not solicit over the phone, he hung up on me!

ANNOYING..THESE SCAM B*****DS SHOULD BE TAKEN OUT AND SHOT!!

IT IS A SCAM, THE GUY SAID HE WAS OUT IN LINDENHURST.
 I ASK IF HE WAS AN OFFICER, HE KNOW NO HE WAS NOT!

 SHOCKER.   He said he worked on behalf of them, this is NOT the case.
 (they may mail out a small fraction of their scam winnings to the PBA, to protect them form law suites
 but even that is fully in doubt!)

THESE ARE SCAMMERS, WHO IF THEY ARE GOOD CAN MAKE MORE THEN YOU IN 3 MONTHS THEN U DO IN A YEAR!

He claims to be a member of the Nassau County PBA.  He has called at least 3 times & each time I politely ask him to send me some info in the mail.  I believe it is a total scam.

I also got a call from this numer and they did not leave me a message.

Same situation as other's, difference several times in one day O received this annoying nonsence!! Some folk's think it's from CABLEVISION. WEll O have the CABLEVISION package, and added this annoying 516 874 0894 to my blocked call list. THANK YOU CABLEVISION.

I received a call from this number and after I said, "Hello," there was no response. I don't know who it was and phoned back. Yes, I also got a message that my call would be transferred to the next available agent.

I got the same result as Carl.  Just a message to hold on that call is very important, but nothing after that.  I did have a Cablevision home service call that same say so it may be something related to them.

my guess is cablevision.  i had asked them not to call me and they never listen.

I answered a call received from this number also, but there was silence on the other end. I called back the number and a recorder stated "Your call is important to us, please stay on the line for the next available agent". After this was repeated twice more, the recorder stated "Goodbye" and ended the call.
