I received a call today from a woman who identified herself as "Molly". She claims I called her in July in regards to a friend of mine... When I asked her who she was and where she was calling from, she repeated that her name was Molly and said she was calling from Lansing. I told her that I would need her to be more specific before I was willing to continue the conversations and she immediately got smart with me and said "I don't know how much more specific I can be... I told you who I was and where I was calling from! Do you know [him] or not?!" She went on to say "Nevermind, I have his cell number any how; I'll call him myself." And then she hung up.

Why can't you do something about these ridiculous, harassing calls???

This is a collection agency and they tend to be very rude and some of the tactics that they use are questionable at the very least.  I received a call stating that I owed a balance to the anesthesiologist.  I had not received a notice of collection from the anesthesiologist, to whom I had been making payments.  The B**** on the line said that I was lying and that there was no record of the payments, so I contacted the anesthesiologist and they had actually received the payment.  These people, particularly Jennifer, are extremely rude at the very least and are likely just as dishonest as they are rude.

Debt Collector
A woman saying she was from some collection agency asked about an amount of 139.00 for a doctor bill that my health care provider turned over to them for non payment.  The bill relates to an auto accident.  I was the injured person from someone running a red light.  Allstate was supposed to pay the bill but for whatever reason they have not.  When the woman mentioned the reason for the call I immediately responded by saying....Allstate said they were going to pay this, it relates to an auto claim.  She said that is between you and your insurance company.  I told her I wasn't paying it.  I asked her if she would pay it if it was her bill and she said she can't answer that. She said that's your credit.  I said, I don't care, I'm not paying it, my insurance company is going to pay it.  She actually expected me to tell her I would get right on that and send her the money.  Screw her!

I receive calls like this quite often. The person will not introduce themselves. They will not state the matter in which they are calling. When asked if they are a business, they say "No, why would you ask that?"  Finally, enough games, I told the caller that these calls were not welcome. I hung up. Five minutes later, I received another call from the same number. Same person. I played a trick on the caller, based from a Seinfeld episode I saw. I stated this to the caller:  "You know, I am a tad bit busy right now. I'll be available much later on this evening. How about you give me YOUR home number, and I will call you just before bedtime."  The caller said, "I can't give you my home number."  I said, "Well,  you have no problem calling me at home, please allow me to return the favor."  The caller hung up.

About one week later, I began receiving calls again, same voice, same number. I informed the caller that I was reporting the number to the Do Not Call List. I have reported the number. I had two calls following that call and have not heard back since.

My thought is then tell your boss to man up and call back and fix it. Everyone sits and complains about why they are calling but I don't see anyone that said that they called and took care of business. As for the other comments about harassing all you have to do is say  is DO NOT CALL all collection calls are recorded. Sounds like a lot of you just want to complain about owing or not but refuse to step up and take care of business.

This number keeps calling the office where I work at asking for employment verification  for my boss even though I've told him numerous times that I wont give out personal information over the phone. Then asked for either my bosses or my District managers cell phone number.... umm yeah no way guy. My manager checked them out and there is no way she owes them money since shes never even been to that side of the state!!

I got the same call this morning at 8:18 AM.  I picked up the phone, didn?t say a word and just put it down beside me on the sofa.  I heard the recording telling me to please hold.  It kept repeating itself over and over again, but I just let the phone sit beside me.  Finally a voice came on and said HELLO, HELLO, HELLO.  That went on for as long as they wanted me to hold on.  Finally they hung up as did I and then they immediately called back saying HELLO, HELLO, HELLO.
If they got a dose of their own frustration maybe they?ll stop calling my number, either way I enjoy playing with them.  I never talk with them and never will.

Left message on my answering machine. Called asking for Don. Wife is Donna, do not know if they meant her. Say my son owes debt. He has not lived here for almost 20 years. Left a call back name & number, Colleen at 800-541-1370 ext 36. I am not calling anyone especially on an apparent 20 year old debt. If there is actually any debt at all.

I got a call a few times from this number and they never leave a message.  Today I called back and the guy answered the phone "Money Recovery Nationwide, May I help you?"  Don't know who I could owe the money to, but I hope this helps.  Anyone know if this is a legit company?

This is a collection agency in Michigan. They have called me a number of times. As previous people have reported, a recording kicks in when I answer, asking me to hold for an important message, then disconnecting the call after a short wait. But today there was an actual person on the other end, saying he was trying to reach a person I know. I told them I didn't know how to reach him (which is the truth). The caller told me that this person gave them my number so they could reach him (which I know would not be true).

He asked for my friend's phone number, and when I told him I didn't have it, he gave a nasty laugh and said, "Don't cover up for him - you could get in serious trouble." When I asked who was calling, he said, "This is Mr. Benson, and I'm calling on official business." I restated that I did not know how to get a hold of this person, at which point "Mr. Benson" hung up on me. Real nice.

Definitely a collection agency for Spectrum Health.  My Grandson is in Premie right now and they have not even received a bill from the hospital yet!  But yet it's in collection?  They even had the gall to call and harassed my parents!  Some people have no shame.

They called my cell phone. I never list that number for calls.  I have a landline phone.  I didn't know who it was and there was no message. My husband just died 3 weeks ago, so I thought it might be one of the numbers I have been calling trying to get all our legal matters taken care of.  I called the number back.  I didn't understand the woman who answered.  She asked for my number and I started to give it to her, but stopped and asked who she was.  She said, "You heard me answer the phone telling you who we are."  She was very nasty about it, then she repeated the name.  It was Money Recovery.  I said, never mind.  I don't want to talk to anyone there.  She said, fine, we'll keep calling.  I hung up.  I saved the number, so they can keep calling.  I will not answer.  I don't need their harrassment.  I pay my bills.

They called me and I got the message and hung up.  Found this site, so I called them back on my cell phone with caller ID blocked. Someone answered so I said I had gotten a call from that number and wondered what they were calling about. She asked for the number that was called and I told her I was reluctant to give her that info because I was reading online that this number (517-886-5500) was a scam.  She said they are NOT a scam and work as part of the Better Business Bureau.

I gave her the number they called and she said they were looking for So-and-so.  I told her that I didn't recognize the name and she thanked me for calling back and said my number would be removed in relationship to that name.

Funny thing is, I've had this phone number for nearly 20 years.

As I got thinking about it, I think she may have mispronounced the last name.  If it was actually pronounced the way I think it should be, it may be the name of a spouse of someone who used to work for the same company as I.  That employee was recently fired for embezzlement.

At any rate -- I'm thinking this company may not be as bad as some posts here have stated.

It is illegal for a debt collector to pose as a friend or acquaintance of anyone.  They are required, by law, to identify themselves as debt collectors.  If they are harassing you, simply tell them that they are illegally soliciting a phone number and that you will report them for fraud.

Been getting a call from this outfit for someone with the same first initial and last name, when I called back the first person said "that is the number she gave us", I became concerned because of the way people steal identities these days and called back, the guy this time was very short and said it was just that they dialed the wrong number, so still concerned I called for more information - they did not think it was a coincidence that the person they were looking for had same first initial and last name, they would not let me get a word in and they hung up.  Now I am forced to pull my credit report(s).

A lady called asking for Sarah (my daughter, but my daughter doesn't live at home anymore, but I didn't tell the callr this).  She pretended to be a friend, she said her name was Molly and she was from Lansing.  I told her I never heard Sarah mention a Molly before.  She asked me for Sarah's cell phone number and I said....I'll to you what...why don't you give me your number and I'll have her call you.  I asked if she was a collections peson and she said, why would you ask that?  She asked me where Sarah worked and I said, give me your number and I'll have her call you and she said, that's okay, I know where she works.

It's one thing to have a bill collector call the person who owes the money but it's not fair for someone to disquise themselves as an acquaintence.   They shouldn't be calling my house over something about my adult daughter anyway.

They appear to be a collection agency for Spectrum Health in West Michigan.
Funny thing is, I don't owe them anything.
Most of the calls start out automated with a statement to please hold for an important call.  Then, about every 15 - 30 seconds they say, please continue to hold.  After this repeats about 3 or 4 times, they say I have been holding long enough and they will try later.
They usually call between 8 and 9 a.m.
