Thay have called me today 5 times is there any way I can get the ploice involved on harrasment?

Getting this phone call for the past days. I don't answer it is really annoying.
Can anyone do something for thoses calls. I'm in Labrador.

I would like to know who called me from this phone number 519-488-0402 (Ontario) this PM at approximately 1:52?

If only 10-40 % goes to charity - neither would I make a pledge. That is insanity! Through safe, legal and direct means I give several thousand a year directly to charities. I hope more people will stop "blindly" giving to charities.

Re 519-488-0402 and others, I DO NOT answer un-identified numbers or numbers I do not recognize. I feel that if it's a friend or if the call is impartant they will leave a message. Re the DO-NOT-CALL list - not all callers abide by the rules.

On January 22, 2010 I recieved a phone call from 519-488-0402. They told me an extremly sad story about a child with leukemia. They asked me to pledge money. I could not afford to give the amount they were asking for (in the hundreds). She said that I could make a payment of $50. I said I could not afford that right now. She said you could make a payment of $25. I said, that I would make the pledge of $25. She put me through to someone else to make the payment.
The man had my full name already. He asked me to confirm my name, and asked me if I would be paying by visa or Mastercard. I told him, I was not giving him my credit card number. He told me it was safe to give him my credit card number and that it is only dangerous to give out the 3 didgets on the back of my card. I repeated that I was not going to be giving him my credit card number. He said that he would mail out a pledge form so that I could send in a money order. he already knew my address. I confirmed it was right and said good bye.
 Something didn't seem quite right! I dialed *69 and the number they had called from was 519-488-0402. I googled the number and sure enough found this info. I called the number back and it was a recording giving another number. I called the 1-800 number they gave, waited on hold and finally got through to someone. I said that I would like to pledge money, and I wanted to know what percentage of my money goes to the charity. The girl did not know the answer, she asked me if I minded waiting one moment. It took more then 5 minutes, but when she came back she told me that 10-40% goes to the charity. I wanted to be sure, so I asked, Only 10-40 percent goes to the charity? She replied yes, and I said I would not be pledging any money and hung up.
This just seems so wrong to me.

Got a call this morning from a guy trying to raise money for children's leukemia. I said I give to United Way, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. People have got to beware of this kind of call -- when a real charity calls, they are respectful and take no for an answer. Plus, it's never from a large call centre; I could hear a whole bunch of people in the background!

I just got a call from zentel calling to raise $195 for children's leukemia. I asked for the name of the charity he was calling for and he said "..uh.. it's for leukemia". At that point I said that I wasn't interested and hung up. Seems like a hoax to me. I never pledge over the phone. I always go to the charity's website and donate online or send a cheque.

I just got a call from that guy but when I answered .. it was a voice message that was cut off after three words .. I did the *69 thing and bit the extra charge just to find out who was calling.  Too bad we couldn't complain and have this guys phone removed.

What a J*** OFF IDOIT!  You are a waste of good air, crawl in a hole and die.  What a waste of space you are.  I'd love to be the one that Gives you the SLAP UPSIDE your head you need... boys I'd enjoy that...  Don't you wish you could reach inside the phone and just slap him upside the head?  How I wish...  This Idiot said it had to do with raising funds for leukemia for a small child.  I told him I had no money twice and hung up.

Jim, Chris and others above seem to think that being on the Do Not Call list will stop these callers. Au contraire. The CTRC makes the entire contents of the Do Not Call list available to telemarketers (so they know what numbers they are not supposed to dial). But there is NOTHING to stop sleazebag telemarketers from using the DNC list as as source of numbers to call.

this number calls me daily no one on the line I am sick of recieving calls from them can't anyone put a stop to it....

Calls every day.  I hope he gets a terrible disease and rots away in his cottage.

This caller had better stop.  I have a sick person in my house and when this a** calls he wakes them.  Take his Muskoka Cottage and shove it up his a**.  Stay in the city.  We don't want you here.

Called me again today and being a Mom of two small children i didn't get to the phone in time. It only rang twice. I called the number back, which is long distance for me and got a voice recording, no option to be removed from their list. When they call again, because I'm sure they will. I will answer and if someone happens to be on the other end...I will make sure they do not call me again. I doubt they'll pay for my long distance charges to call them back.

Got a call today from this number, same result as above... no one on the line, I just hung up.

This number shows up on my call display ~ every day for weeks.  When I am home, I answer it and there is no one there, then the call disconnects.  Other comments state it is a scam for leukemia?  Is this the same charity that operates out of a house in Niagara Falls?  And also declares it a charity for Children's arthritis?

I got a call from this phone number.  It only came up as a long distance number on my caller ID, but I used *69 to retrieve this phone number.  Glad I never answered it.
