called me the other day and asked how i was doing, i said, "not well" he was very polite and said he'd call back some other time.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department has become aware of the public receiving "cold calls" by telemarketers.  The caller is identifying themselves as a representative of the Fraternal Order of Police and/or the Sheriff's Association.

The Fraternal Order of Police and Sheriff's Association for the Pima County Sheriff's Department does NOT solicit funds from the public.  Any funds received for these organizations are done by the citizen first contacting the organization.

They call constantly at all times of the day. The only problem I see with not answering is they are never going to stop!

These people have nothing to do with any police department. I know this for an absolute fact. Don't give them any money.

FOP is a "charitable organization and exempt from the no call list.  I have caller ID and do not answer the phone when they call as they are damn pushy.

They called twice.  Rude.  First time didn't leave a message.  Told him not to call back.

My caller ID says "FOP Cause." Guy sounds pretty suspicious and claims to be an off-duty policeman. I don't believe this because he demanded my credit card number several times. He says he has no address or website. Real spooky and phony!

They called and hung up

Sent them a check a few years back made out to Fraternal Order of Police. They returned it and asked for one made out to FOP Lodge XXX. I've ignored them ever since.

I got a call at 8:15 am Sunday, and hung up when no one responded to my "hello" immediately. They called back an hour later and I ignored it. I'll add it to my call screening.

Rec'd a call from this number, no message left. I looked it up online and it's a landline located in Green Valley, AZ.

This is a scam and not associated with any police departments in Arizona.

First they called me on a cell phone several months ago and I fell for it.  Got talked into making a donation to the FOP.  Yes, they are very aggressive.  They called again for weeks from the cell phone number and I did not pick up because I recognized the number.  Now, today, received call from this 399 number.  I did not pick up and no message was left.  I will not pick up again as we are on the no call list.

The guy called asking for someone else and when I said wrong number he said well maybe you can help me. Explaining about how officers work hard and wanted to know if they can count on our support. I said I googled this number and you are a scam do not call us back. All he said was "Ok thank you" and hung up.

I had this number on the caller ID but didn't answer.  Glad I didn't - in the past these FOP guys have been rather aggressive on the phone.  They talk to you like you owe them money and then get nasty if you don't contribute.  Eff the police, wickey wickey wick wick wick, eff the police.

received call at 8:10 - said to person it's after 8:00 and I have a young child, he said FOP calling and lots going on after 8:00 and I shouldn't put my phone by my kid's bed!!!!!

Didn't bother to pick up as did not recognize the number. ID said 'Local Call Back'; this is not a number I have ever called and was not waiting for them to call me either.

I'm ashamed to admit that I live in Green Valley and these people give all of us a bad name. I don't know if they're affiliated with the Pima County Sheriff's Department or not (we have no police department here, but are served by the sheriff's office). If it helps you feel any better, residents here get these calls, too. The best remedy is to just hang up on them and be sure that they're on your do not call list.

If this is FOP, they're calling at 8:47pm, which I thought was against the rules for telemarketers. Beside the fact that we're on the do not call list to begin with.
