Got a call from John Watson. A guy with an Indian accent claiming to be with the IRS from the 4084595726.

Hi, I got a call from Steve Clark from 202-239-7036. Same thing. Anyone got his call?

my husband received a voice mail on our home phone from harry morgan stating there was a discrepencie on his taxes and that he needs to call 530-380-2641 back immediately to avoid garnishment from his paycheck and bank account. was a very heavy accent. i knew there was something wrong with this message. he has always filed his taxes with h & r block and has never been in any type of trouble with bill paying or internal revenue service & besides we did not receive any type of notification from the irs that they normally do. i hope he does not call again i hate scammers like this trying to get over on the honest working person. i do hope no one gives them any types of monies or personal information over the phone.

Received 2 messages from the "IRS" on 2 consecutive days. Message stated it was the IRS and I needed to call immediately.....etc. I knew it was a scam and wasn't about to call the number. Sounds like this group is getting around.

Had a message on my voice mail left early in the morning.  Same scam as everyone else is reporting from the 5303802641 #.  They said my first & last name. I knew instantly that it was a scam.  
1.) A woman with such a thick Indian accent I couldn't understand her name much less half of what she was saying.
2.)  What I did understand were phrases such as "time sensitive" "legal allegation" "income tax" and "IRS"
3.) Knowing full well that the IRS communicates everything in writing and they don't make threatening comments about legal allegations in regards to any tax concerns.
4.) I pay my taxes every year on time and plenty of them, so I have nothing to fear from the IRS.  This is what they are banking on, the fear response.
5.) These people need to be stopped! I shudder to think of those who have been taken advantage of by these thieves.

I received the call from Keven Peterson with all the threats mentioned above.  I called IRS and they confirmed that it is IRS scam.  

(530) 380-2641 SE-Asian accented caller. Could tell he was not from the IRS as the call came at 7:35 EST (or just after 4PM tomorrow in India). What IRS agent would be at work or calling anyone at that time (IF non-prearranged direct phone contact was an IRS policy, which it isn't).

Caller (strong SE-Asian accent/intonation) claimed to be "IRS agent". Threatened to send police and to seize house. Responded that they were a scam and I was going to report them to the Attorney General's office and hung up.  He called back.

I received two calls at home, one from a male with a Filapino accent and a few days later from a male with a very heavy east Indian accent.  Both threatened that if I did not call them "the second" I received the message I would be a a lot of trouble.  I tried calling back from my work number and the call would not go through, just a loud beeping.  At that point I realized it was a scam and checked it out on this site.  Outrageous that they is representing he is from the IRS and checking out "descrepencies" in my most recent tax return.  

On December 14, 2013, a person called from (530) 380-2641 claiming to be from the IRS.  He called me a few times on a Saturday and threatened legal action if I ignored his call.  I advised him to call my attorney and that the IRS should have my attorney's contact information since it's on my tax return.  The IRS does not make those types of cold contact calls.... especially on a Saturday.

Same thing has been happening to us for the last 2 days. Indian guy/ guys call pretending to be from IRS threatening to freeze passport, drivers license, bank account and social security number. They try to use some IRS technical lingo to sound more convincing.......some strange laws, form numbers etc. There is also some sound of computers and people talking in the background to make it sound like the call is being made from a genuine office. The initial calls were made from 530-380-2641. After I was quickly able to determine that these guys are scam artists and confronted them, they actually called me from 1-800-829-1040 which shows up on caller ID as Us Internal Rev. This has to be absolutely stopped.....I am wondering that how many innocent people are out there that actually get taken advantage of by these swindlers.

Just got called by 530-380-2641. They were rude. Said in 1.5 hrs they would lock my bank accounts, credit card, my house, car, passport, driver's license. They said no check, no credit card to pay the bill. Must go to bank withdraw cash, buy a cash transfer card from Safeway and pay them. I smelled rat as this was no way a goverment org would work. They said they have all my past history, but apparently did not have my email. I intend to call IRS on Monday

Looks like lots of Indian origin guys are getting these calls. I knew it was scam based on the thick accent and strange English. Next time I hope I pick up the phone and talk to him and string him a bit.

Same thing happened to me. Guy left a message asking me or my attorney to call back the very second I get the message. Good thing I found this post.

This people have no idea how stiuped they sounded. They asked for several thousand dollars imidiatley to stop the legal action they clame they work for IRS. Be careful. It's a scam

I have received a very threatening phone call with immediately return the call or your attorney should call back, before I RS sends State Police   etc.,  Steven Freen or Steven Freean and so on.  I called from a different phone number and I think that phone number is now in their database.  FTC site and IRS site have no easily accessible link to report this.

I got a call today too. The first caller told me miscalculation on my taxes and told me to call Kevin Peterson 530-380-2641 x 121 ... Kevin p said that you can't have a cpa file your taxes for you and alot of nonsense.

Just got a call from this IDIOT said he is going to freeze my assets and cancel my c'c, debit card, license and all property including my US Passport. other numbers they are using are 1-805-577-8877 & 1-310-202-7510

Keep getting this call and have returned it because of the threats, but definitely did not sound right and it is clearly a scam. These people need to be shut down.

Same thing just happened to my mom. The IRS never calls. If there is an issue with taxes you will receive a notification letter from the IRS with whatever the issue is and the steps you should take. It's the holiday season so crooks are on the prowl looking for easy prey.

Got call from someone with accent claiming to be from Investigation Beurau of IRS and asked me to call Kevin Peterson at this number. Didn't sound right and had iPad with me, so googled right away. Came across http://taxdefensematters.com/irs-warns-taxpayers-of-recent-phone-scam/, so told him I'd have my lawyer to call him back. He threw some threats and "nobody can help you" thing, I then told him I'll have police to call him back. He finally hang up. Why this number is still in use when so many complained and clearly used by scammer?

I  just received a fraudulent call from a individual with a strong indian accent claiming to be "Joseph Daniel" and stating that he was from the "Department of Investigation of IR".  When I asked him for more details, he had none.  So I hung up on him.  This is a completely bogus call and should be considered harassment and wire fraud.  If I hear from this person or number again, I will contact law enforcement.

I received a phone call on 12/12, 2013 at 7:19 am from this number. The foreign sounding female on the other end identified herself as a representing from the IRS about tax issues. She gave me this number to call and talk to her supervisor. I did not know the IRS called people on the phone at 7:19 am eastern time and 3:00 am West coast time.

I just received the same call - saying I owe 15k from back taxes and that they were going to send the cops and seize my accounts, car and home.  It scared the hell out of me this morning when I asked the guy what social # they are referring too they said that they were sending the cops to my work and they hung up.

I hope they find this As***** this is a terrible prank/scam
