So, I now know where this f***ing call is from. They never leave a message and they never talk, when you pick up. They're just pain in the a**.

I've gotten several calls from this number, which I've missed for one reason or another.  A message is never left - which, I think, may be why people get so angry.  I think BMW should change the policy and leave a message, especially since everyone these days has caller id - so essentially - the caller has left a "message" without leaving one - which gives the person who is being called the wrong impression - that BMW is trying to "sell" them something or "trap" them into something.  Leaving a message with a return phone number would be courteous  and would save the people calling time from having to repeat phone calls to "catch" someone at home.  We all have hectic schedules - so leaving a message is the right thing to do!  I do feel bad for the people making these calls on behalf of BMW.  I'd like to know the reason for not leaving a message. When I look on my caller id - and I see 10 - 15 caller id numbers from the same number without a message - it feels like harassment and this is before I've even connected with someone.  It's no wonder people feel angry by the time someone does happen to catch them.
I remember when I was looking to buy a car (not BMW) and I spoke with the sales guy and then I told him I would be in touch.  This young, ambitious
sales guy called my house more than 17 times in one day and left one message.
When I arrived home and saw all the attempted calls it sent a clear message to me - this guy was too "needy" to help me - he was more concerned about making the sale for himself than really helping me to get the best deal for me!  Had he just called once and left one message I may have returned to buy from him!
Bottom line - BMW should be courteous and leave a message and not call so often! Especially if they want a good review!

Hey guys - I just called and spoke with BMW and the reason they don't leave messages is because they have an automatic dialer which weeds out all the answering machines, etc. so they can spend their time actually talking with people who are answering the surveys rather than spending all their time leaving messages.  I totally get it and I guess the real thing to think about is what a great company BMW is and to be glad that they want the feedback to make it better for us!

I absolutely love my BMW 335i and have loved the service I've received from BMW.
They really do go the extra mile for customer service which I truly appreciate in a world where customer service is almost non-existent.

If this has to do with BNW, I wish they'd quit calling me, I don't own a BMW, and probably never will be able to afford to.  They constantly call my cell phone, I don't even know how they got my number.

Funny..I received 2 missed calls (at work) over the weekend and 3 today (Monday) after getting out of a meeting.  NO ONE has my work number and of course there were no messages left.  So, I decided to GOOGLE the # and I ran accross this site!  I had an "A HA!" moment.  I gave my service advisor my work # last week and she obviously "updated" my records.

BMWNA takes these surveys very seriously (especially for dealerships not wholly-owned by them).  Customer feed back counts when they decide how many cars (if any) they should allocate to these dealerships and they do discuss your reviews in weekly meetings (as the previous poster said --they're not confidential).

Now that I know who's calling, I'll just pickup the phone..they are just trying to do their jobs..sucks, but I just want them to stop calling me : )

I just called it back, asked to be taken off, and no more problems.  It was a 5sec call.  To say that you would be rude to these people or not own another BMW is rediculous.  Fact is when you sign the service contract at the dealer you will see at the bottom that you authorize this call.  Simply make the 5sec call to them and quit whining.

I got calls from this number on my cell. There was no answer at the other end. I don't even own a BMW. It's really annoying. Where do they get information or numbers from anyway?

That's a little dramatic, BMW questionaire calls and a happiness over a candy bar are two totally different ball parks. BMW is built on and strives for great customer service. There procedures can be a little frustrating, but that is one company that will go above and beyond to take care of their customer. It is no different than any other major purchase in my life, the house, other cars, etc. I have always received phone calls asking how my experience was, BMW just seems to be more persistant.

I don't have a problem with getting the phone survey, or with answering the questions, but I just got a call from this number at 10:45 at night. Not only that, but it only rang for about half a second...just long enough to wake me up. While my phone is registered in California, I live in Maryland. I'm sure this happens a lot in this country, since there's no reason for me to change my cell phone number. There are much safer times to call someone than late in the evening (even in California it would be almost 8:00 by now). And I'm pretty sure the dealership that gave my number to the survey company should have a clue where I live, since it's less than an hour away.

All I can say is 1) I love my BMW and am very glad the dealer and manufacturer are interested in my opinion, 2) I get tons of calls from "unknown" or "out of area" and at least they send a DID with the call and don't hide who they are.

The number is a BMW authorized survey center to follow up for a recent service that you may have had on your vehicle.  As the BMW service rep probably told you when you came to pick up your BMW, you can expect to get a call asking about your satisfaction with the service, and that only a 5 is a passing grade.  They probably even asked you to call them personally if you planned on giving anything below a 5 rating.  After I got tired of getting these calls with no message, I finally called back.  If you call back after business hours (pacific time), you'll just get a recording.  I was on hold for about 15 seconds while I listened to the usual "this call may be recorded".  A customer service person picked up, asked for my phone number, verified my name and vehicle make/model, date of service, how I made the appointment, and what I would rate the service.  I told him that before taking the survey, I wanted my number removed from their call list as I no longer wanted to participate in any future surveys.  He said absolutely, then we took the survey, giving all 5s since I was actually very happy with their service.  Total time spent about 1 minute, and I am hoping they will honor my request to no longer call.

Okay everyone, here's what's going on with the hang ups! It is a fairly large calling center set up in southeastern Oregon.  BMW has come up with the bright idea of saving money by calling instead of direct mail and having a drone enter the info into the computer. Trust me it's not for the personal experience, it's to save money. All the operators are primarily paid to do is enter the data...they know little else, so it is futile to argue with them. THE REASON FOR THE DELAY WHEN YOU ANSWER, OR GET NO ANSWER AT ALL: Only handful of people are there and a computer is dialing dozens of calls at once. The operator looks at a line status screen and listens carefully to determine which line got an answer.  Sometimes several customers answer simultaneously, the operator must pick one, yours is usually picked up by another available operator, the rest get dumped.  Then the computer leaves no message, remembers it didn't get a hold of you and then the system automatically schedules to call you again later (whatever). Remember they are probably calling all over the country so there are many calls to make and this is the way a few operators can make several calls and have the best chance of getting through - saving the company time and money. Of course this backfires on BMW because it can be a huge annoyance to the customer (when they get hung up on) The reason for this problem is due to an apparent lack of quality assurance in the process and probably mismanagement.  They should fix it before the problem mushrooms out of control with a large base of dissatisfied clients.  If they upset you, let them know the calling center is the problem, tell them to note it, and clearly state to never call you again. By federal law they must comply. (To make sure, register your number on the government's DO NOT CALL list and note the time and date if they ever call you again) End of story.  You are not required to participate in their survey just because you got your car serviced there. They can mail the survey if they want the info that badly.

You're all deuschbags. The call is 2 min long and will only make your service better for the next time. Get real, you drive a BMW you have 2 minutes to give the company that you've technically invested in.

If I had a complaint, I would call them...If my BMW was serviced and everything went well....why would I want to do a survey...Maybe they should stop calling...or BMW should rely on their customers for feedback, instead of hiring a company that calls all day long and is annoying...

Let it go! Stop calling me

I just completed the survey and said I would not recommend my dealer to a friend. Now I see that the survey guys are going to ID me when they send the results to the dealer. I was told by my service rep to give him all 5's when they called. Guess I'll be taking my car in to another dealer next time.

At least I know who this is now. They've been calling at home and work, a couple of times per day, since I took my car in for service last week. Funny they don't call my cell which is my preferred number on file at the dealership. But maybe I'll answer it now, and give them good ratings for my last service. To respond to a couple of posts above - the folks who work for the calling company, they're just doing their jobs. But, don't for one second actually believe that BMWNA or the dealership is interested in any negative feedback. If you even so much as hint that you aren't happy with something when you pick up your car, they will not call you for your ratings. That seems to be my experience over ten years with three BMWs and multiple dealerships. And as for Reuben's comment above, that's not the first time I've heard about this, but its not limited to BMW. Similar thing happened to me when I had a Mitsubishi.

I've been getting calls from this number and I pick up only to hear dead silence on the other end. I just took my 335xi in for service and my dealer was great, but unfortunately since nobody responds when I pick up, I can't really tell them that. BMW NA might want to look into that one.

This number called me for 2-3 weeks, home, work cell several times a day, never leaving a message (harrassment). I never picked up because I knew it was BMW  survey-I prefer email or written survey.  Finally, today, 0101808, I answered the phone at work.  There was a big delay before the caller identified himself.  I asked him why he had been calling and not leaving any message? I said I don't do phone surveys, please mail or email one and will be happy to complete.  He said they only do phone survey's, which is crap because I have gotten written ones prior.  I asked him to stop calling me, especially at work, he said "can you just answer 1 question".  I said you wouldn't want me to at this point because I am so annoyed with your tactics.  NO-he than hung up, no apology or anything.  In my opinion, this leaves a bad taste in my mouth about BMW.  Why would they use such an unprofessional company to literally harass customers to get a good rating.  Something is really wrong here.
