They called today and asked for my mother - He wanted to know if we were receiving our subscription to National Geographic. I told him I was pretty sure we didn't have a subscription to National Geographic. My mom talked to him and didn't divulge any information - but I am pretty sure he didn't ask her for any. We will be watching our phone bill for charges and will not answer the phone for this number again.

Got a call from this number today but didn't answer. It's been months since anyone made an entry about it. I guess they stopped using the number for awhile and have started again.

I receive calls from this number with the ID: GBL SVC.   I have no idea who it is.  I don't answer, the machine picks up and no message is left.  They have been calling my home number at least once a day. Very annoying!

I took your advice and regret it. My son was in an auto accident and he asked a person at the scene to call me. I didn't recognize this caller ID so did as you suggested. I hung up on the call immediately. Because of this I didn't learn of my son's accident until hours later when my husband called to tell me.

We get a call from this number 2-3 times a week.  We don't answer and they never leave a message.

Check out a free service called NOMOROBO.  Using this system will stop these types of calls. I've used this for the last month and these calls have been eliminated.

We get calls from this number regularly.  It is just another telemarketer.  We are on the do not call list.  Apparently it doesn't work.

This number and several others from Oregon, Washington call my house all day long and sometimes during the evening.  I do not answer them, but they do go to the answering machine and as soon as it picks ups they hang up.   This is very annoying.  Please block this number.

Thank you for this.  I called and got my number removed.

I've been getting calls from this number several time a day for the last week or so.  Never a message left, but my Caller ID says it's from "GBL SVC" which I interpret as "Global Service".  Who knows what that is?!?  I'm sick of these calls.

I called 541-931-4145 and got a automated answering service that said they were telemarketers. And to have your number removed to enter your number and the calls will stop within 72 hours.I took a gamble and did so. Nothing to lose.

As I understand the "do not call" system, if you answer the phone, that cancels the option,, so if you have an answering machine the system is worthless.

Forgot to add that it shows the name as: GBL SVC. Whatever and whoever that is.

Since I have caller ID, I could see the number calling and since I don't know anyone in Oregon, I did not answer. Of course they did not leave a message and that did not surprise me. Hope they don't call again because we will not answer from #'s and people we don't know.

This phone number said they'd fix my computer.
In essence they try to get your credit card info.
to charge for the service. Then, they use that
info. to charge money to your card. They identified
their company by the name of Go4MarketPlace.

You 're  right.  The solution is simple.  But don't hold your breath waiting for the FTC and FCC to do anything about these unwanted calls. "The Do Not Call List" is a joke!

These calls keep coming because our wonderful government does not enforce the "Do Not Call List".  Don't bother signing up for the "DNCL". It'll be a waste of your time.

But they keep calling, that is not a solution!

Got a phone call today at 10:25 from 541-981-4154.  They asked for "Gregg" my husband.  When I asked who was calling they hung up.  Found this site with a google search of the phone number.

Unless you're still living in the stone age, your phone is equipped with a caller I.D. If you don't know who the caller is, DON'T ANSWER IT.

They probably don't "have" your number. Usually they use a computer to dial number-after-number until there is an answer. At that point they (1) make their pitch to get your personal info; (2) record your number to sell to other telemarketers.

The National Do Not Call List only works for honest companies. Unfortunately, scammers run amok and are hard to track down. The FTC and FCC should be requiring the phone carriers to police themselves. Violators should receive large fines and loss of numbers to sell.
