Just got a call, in Ontario, from 559-386-5417. The guy (also with a very strong accent) told me there was a problem with my computer and that he could help fix it. I asked where he was calling from -- he said Arlington, Texas, but wouldn't give me the company name. So, I asked who paid him -- he said "God." I asked a number of times how he got our name and number: he said we gave it out on July 4, but wouldn't tell me to whom. Then, he went on to try to insult me by telling me that I wouldn't even work on the computer offline because I "don't know anything about technology." I hung up. Watch out!!

4:26pm edt (Central Florida).  Rec'd call from Microsoft?? support woman (heavy middle east accent) wanting me to use the WIN key+R.  So she could access my pc to analyze error messages.  Note: The win+R would "open run dialog". I told her that I would not allow her access to my pc and wanted to talk to her supervisor and I told her I would never let anyone access my pc.  I just hung up on her. (The number on my call display -Unknown 559 386-9702.  When I tried to call her back "number is disconnected or no longer in service"

I asked for her number so I could talk to her supervisor.  

I just received a call from this number and checked to see where it was from.  I did not answer and they left no message.  I have received similar calls from other numbers.  Sometimes it has reached the point of harassment.  Something need to be done!

Coincidence! There is no way they can actually tell what is happening with your computer. Suggest you read microsoft's article on the scam..

Yes,,,have been called from this number...told there is malware on my computer....asked if my computer is on...and that they will fix it.....my computer has been crashing the last week...just before they started calling

I received calls from these 4 numbers in the span of 5 minutes today. I didn't pick up since I was at work. Two left mumbled messages, the other two left no message. I figure they are all part of the same scam because only my family calls my cell number.

I live in Ontario and got a call from this number at 11:00 p.m.  I let the answering machine take it and all it said was "Goodbye".  It didn't wake me up, but I would have been furious if I had been sleeping.  I figured it was from a western province/state, because of the time.

This is not the only number I get calling me. I get it from Ontario, Quebec, New York, and now California.
I just pick up the phone and say nothing until they hang up. I then enter their number in my phone system's block call list and I don't et a call from them again.

I'm in Ontario Canada too and I've had him call twice.  The first time I entertained the conversation for a short time. He says he is from Windows tech support and that my computer is corrupt or something.  I told him I didn't have anything with Windows, which is what tipped me off.  I'm sure he wants access to the computer to install spyware and then get credit card info., passwords, etc.  Does anyone know where calls like this can be reported?

Guy with Indian accent said he was from Windows and my computer was infected with spyware. Told him the computer was not on ,, that I have McAfee and I was not interested and hung up.

got a call from 559 386 9702 waited about 10 seconds and then it beeped and said goodbye. Sure it's a scam

Total scam call -- telling me I had a problem with my computer.  Very foreign accent; much noise in the background.

Got the call pushing "meds" as well.
Unfortunately the National Do Not Call laws only are in place for calls that originate in the USA under the domain of the law.  Folks can call from Canada or India all day long.  Add to that VOIP and it's impossible to stop.
Now the Phone Companies do have data on how all calls trace and originate, a new set of stronger laws could force them to cut off the ability of the callers to harass once complaints are generated and verified.  But the Phone Companies lobby like heck to prevent that because it's an expensive proposition to become the "phone police" plus they make their share on all the traffic.

You can file complaints yourself! And that complaint should include the FTC as well..

I received several calls from this number asking what my medications were. I told the caller (heavy Indian accent) to stop calling me. Can't someone report this to the FCC ? Also the calls are coming on a cell phone so I am paying for them !!!

Still on the go Sept 2013.  Fraudsters who don't fool sensible people for a moment, but unfortunately they   depend on at least some of their targets being elderly and/or vulnerable.  About time the menu below had the category 'fraud' in it.

i got a call from 559 386 9702 and was indian accent guy. He said he works on behalf of microsoft but he don't even know microsoft's microsoft security essential software. If you work for microsoft, how couldn't know microsoft's softwares. he will ask you to download aammy.com software and grant him remote access, never do that. he asked money and date or birth. definitely a scam. don't give out any information.

Got a call from 559-386-9702.  9:30pm on a Sunday night.  I have to be up at 3am to go to work, and now I can't sleep.  When I answered, there were a couple of clicks, then an automate female voice said "goodbye".

These people are like a plague of flies.  You can swat all day long, but the flies never go away.

I keep getting the call im in the uk so havnt got a clue how they got my mobile number i wont answer it as it comes up use and i kno i will get charged as soon as i pick it up its been few times they have tryied ringing me

they keep calling me and hanging up....nothing more I can do

Got a call from 559-386-9702 saying they were from Microsoft and my computer had reported virus issues. Funny, the computer has been in a blue screen, or dead, for months. When I told him that was the case he hung up. I called him back and the line was disconnected..

I got a call from 559-386-9702, trying to tell me I had I virus. I cursed at the barely-English speaking man and hung up.

Just got a call from 559-386-9702, heavy Indian accent calling me in Ontario, Canada to tell me that my computer was sending a lot of wrong messages to Microsoft and they will have to delete everything from my computer. I told him that didn't seem right and I just ended the call.

What an idiot, trying to threat me to erase my computer, can't imagine what he wants, probably money.

I received a call from 559-386-9702 from a caller named JACK WILLIAMS with a foriegn accent stating that she was with a microsoft windows company and noticed that i had a malicious virus on my computer. I asked her for a phone number to return a call if we were disconnected she just kept insisting I needed to sit in front of my computer. I finally got a phone number of 209-890-0456 which is completely different then the number i received the call from. I decided to call the 559-386-9702 number back and received a recording saying the number was disconnected.. Definate scam!!!!!

Just got a call from this number at my work. Same heavy accent, I didn't catch a name but he said he's calling from Microsoft and asked me to open a new window in Internet Explorer and he would help me make my computer run as new. When I asked why I'm doing this he immediately said "I'm not trying to do anything I just want to help you fix your computer so it runs faster, it will only take 2 minutes." He repeated that a couple times...so I figured its a little fishy and said its okay, I can't do that right now. He kept insisting but I finally managed to get through and his final words were "okaaay it's up to you, bye" and hung up quickly. Weird.

Received a call last night around 8 did not answer it i was ill. Again this a.m. the same number came thru i and answered it a man with an India accent wanted me i said i wasn't home he said he would call back, click... i wish i could just STOP STOP this i am so annoyed about this...shirley
