Got a call, didn't recognise it so I left it.  Called it back from my work number.  Connected with  "Thank you for calling ...Marketing Group.  Would you like to hear more about your free trip to Cancun?"
You know what that means.

Got a call on my cell phone...I called back and the company that answered was:
"Hacienda International". They were offering vacations- now, when I asked them how they got my number, they indicated that they had the number through one of two ways: either I stayed at any of the RTI vacation spots (condos, apartments or vacation spas), or visited one of their kiosks. I have NEVER (nor has my wife) EVER visited one of their kiosks, nor have I stayed at one of their resorts.....my father was a member of the Canadian military, and if I wanted a vacation, then I would go with my dad. So, as most Canadians have heard, there is a "DO NOT CALL" registry. DO NOT ADD YOUR NUMBER TO THIS LIST!!!!! CRTC is selling the numbers contained in that list to NON-CANADIAN based companies. The companies that are buying those numbers (mine included) are not subject to prosecution by the Crown for violating the "DO NOT CALL" registry!!!!!!

I got a call from this number a moment ago. Didn't answer, but like a lot of people on this thread, I also have service with Telus.

Got a call on my cell phone...I called back and the company that answered was:

i have been receiving calls on my cell phone (my provider is Rogers) from different numbers throughout california. This is one of them and other's include 949-256-9160,916-219-8163 and an 805 number. Also, a Las vegas number 702-520-9121. has called me as well. I am located within Ontario and so I found this odd. Like previously mentioned, they call and do not leave a voicemail which seems rather unprofessional.I called these numbers back and it just rings,there is no mention of a company name and eventually someone picks up saying "would you like to hear about your trip to cancun" i ask to have my name removed off the calling list and they hang up. I tried this 3X and all 3 times they hung up.... obviously a scam...but def annoying

missed a called from the number 15 mins ago here. i'm in vancouver with a 604 FIDO number and i'm NOT on the Do Not Call list.

I too just received a call on my cell just a moment ago.  I did not answer it.  I am with Rogers.

Calgary received call, did not answer, with Telus

Got a call from these guys on my cell, which is a Bell phone in the 250 area code.  Didn't answer.

I don't normally get a lot of spam to that cell number, so I'm not sure how they got my number.

I very much doubt they got my number from a directory - only 4 or 5 people actually know my number. I have not registered this number on the DNCL. They must be systematically dialing all the numbers in a range.

Received a call on my Telus cell at 1:32 OM EST on January 27, 2009.  I did not answer as I always screen unknown callers on my cell.

I have received calls from other numbers lately then I read that the Canadian do not call list is being abused by unscrupulous telemarketers.

I think the calls are directly related to my registering my cell number there.

I got a call at 9:42pm EST!!! Past the legal time of 9pm Est to do telemarketing calls.  It gave an automatic ring, and puts you on hold.  It might be a cell hack, for all I know..

I live in Toronto, Ontario.. And they called my FIDO cell number.  Which is not listed with any company (that I can recall)

I have reported this number to FIDO, and they will do an investigation, on how they obtained my private cell number.

I got a call from this number started off "Congratulations .." e.g. automated telemarketer, exactly two days after switching my cell phone handset from old to new via the telus mobility web interface. ONly family and a few friends have my cell phone number.

I received two missed calls from this number a couple of hours ago and thankfully I found all these postings so now I know what the call is in regards to. So strange, as I received them on my cell phone? How do these people get your number?!

I just got a call by this number as well... and when I called twice, the same thing happend, it goes directly to some music... like as if I was put on hold... I did listen for a few mintutes, then realized that if I don't hang up, the music will go on forever... no one is on the other end.... how the hell do these people get your number!!!!

Got an automated call telling me that my number has been selected for a promotional offer.  Hung up.

Called back, got a person asking me if I'd like more information on my Cancun vacation.   Strange!

I live in Toronto, Ontario. I received a call from this 5594274535. I could not pick up their call immediatley because I was driving in a highway. Later, I tried couple of times to reach them and I realised that they are busy forever!. Due to the fact that some telemarketing companies dedicate a business line which has a feature where only outgoinng calls can be made using that line.

yeah i received the same call from the same number on nov 18 as well. strange eh?

missed a call from this number. I live in vancouver BC  and when I called the number back, I got what sounded like hold music. I hung up after about a minute.
