Scammer. He tried to convince me that his company had detected a virus on my computer. I told him to get a real job and actually help people. As a computer tech, this particular scam infuriates me. DO NOT give them remote access to your computer.

This is so unfortunate.  After all the previous messages the revealed fakes on this thread and embarrassment they should feel, they are still out scamming people.  They are also still advertising online with this fake number and fake address.  I don't know what to tell you about getting your $ back... File a complaint with the police or FCC?  Or better still everyone just get caller ID and stop answering calls where you don't recognize the number?  Sad it has come to this, but there are a lot of nice people out there who are too trusting and being taken advantage of.

Just had a call from "callandfix". I say - what? He says - your computer sent a message because there is a problem.  The scary thing is I do have a problem with it!  I then ask where are you calling from & he says California.  I meant what company & he repeats "callandfix".  Told him I had no problems, thank you & good bye!!!

Sweetie, either you're a big fool or you are one of the scammers behind this number.  Either way instead of misleading everyone and giving thank on here for this "company" helping you with your problems, find yourself a shrink who enjoys a challenge.  Let them know in advance that they will need to call for back up.

The "satisfied customers" in this thread are not telling you this is the fake PC tech confidence game.

Essentially some fiend in a boiler room, usually in South Asia, wants to coax you into dropping your firewall and security measures and play havoc with your system, possibly with the goal of then selling you the ''solution'' to the problem they caused. Worse yet they might plunder your hard drives for whatever can be sold or used against you. If your credit account data are volunteered or captured, there is no end to the trouble which may follow from all their criminal friends.

The scammers count on most computer owners being ''appliance users'' who don't understand what's under the hood and being easily misled. They may claim to have a pile of complaints because your system is spewing spam, or else instruct the user to open a shell and look at perfectly innocuous system feedback and claim there is something dangerous happening. This is the PC equivalent of the crooked auto mechanic who squirts oil on your axle and wants $1600 to ''repair'' the non-damage.

The dumber ones claim to be from ''the Windows Corporation'' or the ''Microsoft legal department'' or something as implausible. Their actual knowledge of personal computers is always pitifully low, as reported many times when real PC techs are called. (Sometimes their command of English is little better.) Often the reps become hostile and curse you out if you indicate any sort of informed resistance.

Microsoft is not running any constant emergency alert system and is surely not going to run a reverse tech support call center devoted to writing each of us a trouble ticket. DO NOT follow any instructions from these goons and don't give them any satisfaction of making you upset.

Well the spelling has improved in this more recent bogus posts, but the sentence structure is still skewed and the overly gushing praise raises the suspicion that you are a scammer making these posts. Perhaps you could answer why you chose to come to a website that logs nuisance and missed calls in order to review this company?

LMAO!  Couldn't agree more...
Watch, now their business address (and probably phone number) will now be magically and quickly relocated to some Podunk town in Alaska where if you trace the address it will probably be an abandoned igloo or something.

You can build them up all you want, but I question why would a real business (with nothing to hide) need a fake address?  I know what I saw and it obviously seems to be viewed as a scam by others as well.

Their address in the yellow pages is bogus.  I live in the Fresno area and drove down there to see what the turd on the other end of their phone calls looks like and it is a restaurant that has been at that location since the hippie era.  What legit business uses a fake address?

Hahaha!!!  What an F'ing joke!!!  I went to Fresno looking for their alledged office at 861 E Olive Ave in Fresno and it is the Chicken Pie Shop.  The Chicken Pie Shop has been there since the 60's or 70's and is obviously the only thing in the building.  Good food, but the people there didn't seem too technology savy....

Figures these Chicken s*** scanners would pick something like the Chicken Pie Shop to use as a false address lol.

Thank you for the info Lynn.  The only ones sticking up for them do not seem to have a good command of the English language so it looks suspicious.  I'm going to drive to over there and see if there really is an office at that location in Fresno.

Prapsthi Technology Service or Call and Fix (callandfix.com) is supposed to be an antivirus company located in India with a Fresno phone number.

They DO NOT get your number from a virus software company as the person who calls says. They have a telephone list and call - and call and call - even after asking to be removed from the call list. (They called my company cell phone and asked for a different name.)

DO NOT let them have remote access to your machine! They can put on a virus and then you will need them to take it off. Certainly don't let them go through your company's fire wall.

I received 2 calls last Wed, 1 last Thurs and 1 today (Wed) - each time I asked for the number to be removed from their list. Each time they say they will and call me a different name - even when I said who I am.Each time they are calling from India (Prapthi has a Fresno address - just don't believe it.)
