I always say, we are in the process of hiring a maitenance person, when they ask for a name, and if they ask, who ever is in charge now of the yada yada....I say no one, for about a week.  Then they don't know what to say.   They can't say our man called them, cause I just said we don't have one at this time.   I also have no name to give them, because we are in the process of hiring someone at this time.  Usually they say they will call back.   I use this line for most telemarketers.....whoever they ask for, we don't have anyone in that position at this time.   If they call back in a week or so.....I say we're still in the process.   It's fun to mess with them.   After I learn the number and see it on the caller ID....I can also just pick up the phone and hang it back up.   Who cares if I hang up on them?

Guy asked for the maintenance manager said he was returning a phone call.  I asked him what he needed as there are two people who handle maintenance.  I asked him if it was parts related and he said he didn't know that he was just returning a phone call.  I asked his company and he said it was elictrician equipment.  I kept him on hold and when the ringer started up told him that neither of them called and it was probably an old message....
so how funny would it be if everyone who received a call from them said the same thing.

I got a call from this number today.  The gentleman on the phone claimed to an electrician and needed to talk to the maintenance supervisor.  When I explained that was in-charge and that was the person he needed to talk to, he said that he needed to some electrical work at and then gave me our address.  I told he that our landlord will need to call me and set that up.  He started to get aggressive on the phone.  I than asked for his name, business name, state business license number, and UBI #.  He said are you serious and said yes.  He would not give me the info.  I explained that I had his phone number on caller ID and it is against state law not to answer those questions when asked.  He told me to go get so beers.  I told him not to call this number again and he said no problem.  When I called the number back I got voicemail for CUSTOMER SERVICE.  Watch out.

We received a call asking for the person in charge of maintenance. I told him we take care of our own maintenance and ask to be to be put on the "DO NOT CALL" list and hung up on him.  He called back saying "What list are you taking about? I'm and electrician and someone called me I just didn't write down his name." When I told him I don't know who could have called him, he hung up.

We just receive three calls just today from the same idiots claiming they were Johnson Electrical Development and want to get in touch with the person who does our electrical that they were one of our corporate accounts.  I said you need to call our other office for that department - he asked for the phone number and I said "If you were a corporate account you would know their number" and he goes "what did you say?" kinda rude like.  I said "scammer" and hung up.  Wait til he calls again.....he in in for a good time.

I just got a call from this number today - came up as "Customer Service". I said our maintenance manager (whose name she did have) did not have his own extension. I told her I could take a message, and she said she had received a message from him and did not know what it was regarding. She wanted to have him paged and I told her I only page for emergencies. She said "so it's gonna be tit for tat then?" She wanted to speak to a manager. I asked for what department. She said "any manager". I said if she could tell me what it was regarding, I could direct her to the correct person. I tried - building manager, HR manager, and she said "It could be the HR manager." I asked for her name and company name, she said it was Joe Johnson from Johnson Electric. When I put her on hold she hung up.  I am considering dialing this number over and over and letting the phone stay off the hook, not actually leaving a message.

Man called from this number wanted to talk our maintenance guy but could not remember his name.  Very aggressive, very rude.  I asked what it was regarding at first he refused to say.  He just kept asking what our maintenance guy's name was.  Toward the end of the call was pretty much screaming because he was not getting his way.  I told him to give me his name and number and I would have someone call him.  At that point he lost it, screamed GDit! and hung up.

Got this call today. Didn't pick it up since caller ID just says 'customerservice', came here first to check it out, happy I didn't pick up. They didn't leave a message the first time, called back within a minute a left a SUPER SNARKY message. in a 'southern-esque' accent:

My summary of his message:

'You guys are really useless, you're never available (gives examples of our time off including lunch breaks) and when you ARE open you're unavailable. Un-believable.'

Then he hung up.

A***. Avoid at all costs.

A "Rick Barry" called from (561) 200-2139, asking to speak to the maintenance manager and said he was coming to change junction boxes, whatever that is. He was told that we didn't own the building and whatever he planned to do we were not authorized to allow.  He said it didn't matter who owned the building, that he was coming out to do this.  (He was very rude ) I asked who authorized this and he said it was a County project that was authorized by the state.  He said he was coming out in an hour to do this "job".  He had the address wrong  anyway and when I asked if there was a number that I could call back to, he told me that I didn't need a number and hung up on me.

A guy called asking for a manager, said he was returning a call, trying to get ahold of the the manager.  I asked him who.  He said the manager and didn't provide a name.  I then asked in what department.  And he responded maintenance.  Told him they were in a meeting and asked if he was coming out for a job today.  He said yes and asked to be put to voicemail.  I put him to his voicemail, but before then someone passed by from that department so I had them pick it up, when they did he immediately hung up.  They have called before, heard people in the background.  Surely a salesman or scammer.

These people call and you can tell it is from a call center from all of the noise and voices in the background.   I just always say politely "I will be more than happy to take a message" repeatedly until they get frustrated or just hang up, no matter what they say or who  .  As a receptionist, you unfortunately have to deal with this repeatedly multiple times a day, but sometimes it is the only fun I have is frustrating these annoying people ha ha.  For those that have to deal with the "serial number on the copier" scams ... just say "Okay, I have the number ... it's zero zero zero, zero zero, zero zero zero zero ..." and just keep repeating zero.  They'll get the hint and will hang up.

Got a call from this number, when I answered there was very loud laughter in the background which immediately alerted me to it being a weird call. The lady said she wanted to speak with our maintenance supervisor, I transferred her to his voicemail but she called back about 10 seconds later. This time it was a man being extremely loud and rude asking for the maintenance guy's cell number, saying his name was Tony Mitchell the electrician. I told him I wasnt allowed to give it out and he said "I need it, I'm in a huge pickle and I have pickle juice in my eye". (??!??!) So weird. Extremely rude, obnoxious, and ridiculous. I put him on hold and let my boss speak to him. He was rude to him too and then hung up, refusing to give his contact number. SCAM!

I get a call from that number every 3 months. They keep telling me that they are in the process of sending out their catalog and if I am still in charge of ordering the maintenance supplies. The catalog is on the way with a special gift. So far I have not received any catalog.
They try to keep you on the phone and at the same time try to sell you something in order to keep you in the best customer discount program.
Sorry to say that its a telemarketer ploy.

Just received a call from a woman at this number.  It showed up on caller ID as "CUSTOMERSERVICE".  She asked to speak to the maintenance supervisor and quickly followed up with 'what was his name?'.  I found this odd as we don't have a maintenance supervisor, per se.  As I asked for more details she claimed that she was in the warehouse and was looking for a part for him and needed to speak with him.  I said we are a church, what area is this for? She said "the sanctuary, at the junction box" which made no sense.  I asked for her name and number to call back and she said she would talk to her supervisor and call me back.  She said her name was Candace Mitchell from Midway.  Seems like some sort of scam but I can't figure out what for...just to get a name?

Got a call this morning from this same number.  The first time a woman was on the phone asking for our janitor by name!  Not sure how she got it.  Maybe given out by some one else. She wanted our janitor's phone number.  Our office manager refused to give it out. When the call came to me, a man was on the phone.  He said our janitor had called him, but he never did so as was stated. They are liars, so be careful.

They called when I was away from my desk, they got my voice mail, that way they had my name for the next call. They've called at least 6 times in the last two years. Always want to send me something for free, I tell them it's against company policy, they try to get my home address to send it to!! This time they tried to send me some light bulbs, when the guy at the "UPS Loading Dock" called to verify my name & shipping address I told him I didn't order any bulbs. The number for the "UPS Loading Dock" was 240 407 0650, routed through the 561 200 2139 number, what a scam!

This might be in Florida (561), but with the name coming up as a number and the number 'unavailable', who can tell. That's your first sign they're a scam.
I strung the guy along and he said their "new number" was 866-507-1660. I'll bet they'd appreciate just as many bothersome calls, now, don't you think so? :) And be sure to block YOUR number, too!!
IS their a Midway electric?? Too many to tell for sure. Block 'em.

We keep receivng the same calls requesting to speak with the maintenance manager and asking, "What was his name again?" I always answer that I never said what his name was. I have repeatedly asked for them to take us off their call list but they always call. Just this morning hung up before he could get his speil out. This ranks right with the people who call claiming to be our customer service rep for our copiers and asking for the copier serial number.

Got this call today my boss answered and told him the person he was looking for was not in and told him he was very busy and could not help him, the guy kept talking so my boss hung up on him. A minute later he called back I answered and asked me who was that rude person and wanted his name I did not give it to him just said he was a manager. He said he needed to talk to someone and I asked him what it was about so i could transfer him, he said he was an electrician trying to come fix something. That can't be possible as our electrician is my friend. Then he asked me for the maintance guys name and I said I dont know who you want to speak with and told me stop lying you do know and I said no. He then yelled at me "TELL ME HIS NAME" and hung up on me.

We've gotten several calls from these jokers, saying they're at "the warehouse" and need to speak to our maintenance supervisor about the parts he ordered.  I told them that I haven't fallen for their scam before and I'm not falling for it this time either.

Got a call this morning from this same number.  The first time a woman was on the phone asking for our janitor by name!  Not sure how she got it.  Maybe she guessed.  She wanted our janitor's phone number.  Our office manager refused to give it out. When the call came to me, a man was on the phone.  He said our janitor had called him for electrical work.  I knew he was lying then.  He was very forceful and would not accept that I would not give out any emplyees phone number. He tried everyway he could think of to get it.  I got tired of hearing him rent and rave so I went "click!"

Hope these folk don;t read these blogs.  They could fine tune their scam if they do. It would be wild if they set up this web page!! LOL!
