Here is the scoop. This is their poorly made web site http://diabetes-carenow.net/ this is the numbers I have received calls from. (855)869-0591 (Jerry Supervisor) and (561) 325-7044.
Criminals who plot to defraud the Government and steal money from the American people have a new target: people with diabetes.
Although the precise method may vary, the scheme generally involves someone pretending to be from the Government, a diabetes association, or even Medicare, calling you. The caller offers "free" diabetic supplies, such as glucose meters, diabetic test strips, or lancets. The caller may also offer other supplies such as heating pads, lift seats, foot orthotics, or joint braces, in exchange for the beneficiaries' Medicare or financial information, or confirmation of this type of personal information. Additionally, you may receive items in the mail that you did not order.
Report the Call to Law Enforcement
Report the call to the OIG Hotline at 1-800-HHS-TIPS or online at http://oig.hhs.gov/fraud/report-fraud/. As part of your report, provide the name of the company that called you, the company's telephone number and address, and a summary of your conversation with the caller.
Non-Compliance Penalties
A consumer who receives a telemarketing call despite being on the registry will be able to file a complaint with the FTC, either online or by calling a toll-free number. Violators could be fined up to $11,000 per incident.
Anyone who violates the rule is subject to civil penalties of up to $11,000 per violation. In addition, violators may be subject to nationwide injunctions that prohibit certain conduct and may be required to pay redress to injured consumers.

Wow, all I have to do is answer some questions online and I can get solicitors calling me. That is great news for me. I love it when I get unwanted calls. You see, there is a law called the "Telephone Consumer Protection Act - TCPA" that holds them accountable. Every time I get a call from someone that does not have my express written permission then I collect from $500-$1500 per call. So I say "Let Them Call".

This number calls 3-4 times a day, they never say anything and after about 5 seconds or so it hangs up. I called back & also got a diabetes company??? I've asked them to not call, but they continue to. Sometimes a few days passes before I receive another call, but once the calls start it happens 3-4 times a day for a week or so. It needs to stop!

Got call from this number today - diabetes "verification dep't." Said they upgraded something and needed to verify personal information. Told her that I get my diabetic supplies from the pharmacy. She replied that the pharmacy gets their supplies from them and from my account. Said if the pharmacy needs to verify anything they have all the information they need on file. When she was "verifying" my information, she asked if my name was .... the name she gave was a fake name that I give when I am looking for information on line. Told her I do not appreciate the calls and to remove me from the list.

Vitelity is just the phone company they are using. It might as well say "AT&T". The reason it says "Vitelity" is that the caller has not elected to make the company information available for lookup (only the phone number "CNUM" is transmitted, the name "CNAM" is looked up in a database by your phone provider).
If you can demonstrate an abusive use of the service, you can try contacting Vitelity, but remember you need to be professional and nice - Vitelity is not the bad guy and you NEED THEM on your side.
An email should go something like this:
It appears a customer of yours may be using (999) 999-9999 to make abusive calls consisting of (whatever bad things they are doing).
These calls were made at the following dates and times:
(date) (time)
Please handle according to your terms of service. Thank you for your assistance.

If appropriate, a police report can help make your case with a provider.

Got a call from this number at lest 3 times aweek. I called the number back and it gave me3 options, push 3 to be added to their do not call list. So I hope their list works better than Metro PCS block call list.

I keep getting a call from this number. A guy named Mike hard to understand. Says my social security number is under investigation and there will be legal action if i don't call back. They've called before and when I threatened legal action they stopped for a while. If it continues I will take legal action.

I have been getting spam calls from places trying to get me to enroll in their online colleges (been there..done that..waste of my time and money..graduated 4.0 gpa but couldn't get a job with the college credentials). The # is close, so I didn't answer it. Decided to google the #, before calling it. Have been doing that with #'s I don't recognize. I won't answer calls from #'s I don't know. If it is important, they will leave a message, then you can decide if you want to venture a call to them or not.
I believe they are telemarketers trying to make you buy into their scheme, but they could also be some group trying to steal your information for fraudulent reasons. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO TO ANYONE ONLINE OR ON THE PHONE, unless you know it is a safe reputable company. Soooo many scammers (craigslist is full of them, as well).
| Diana Pauls 2013-01-29 03:49:39 Unknown |
I made the mistake of answering one of their calls about two weeks ago. The company was not fully identified but I was told I was eligible for a free diabetic meter. They verified my address and then asked for my insurance information. I told them I did not have my card in front of me. The caller again asked for my insurance information. I told the caller that they initiated the call, I was not giving out any information. I was again asked for my insurance information. I hung up.
After reading the posts today, I tried to call their number to place my number on a do not call list. The only response I got was a quick "Goodby".

Next time someone calls for you to get a new meter, just get a whistle and blow!
| candycane 2013-01-21 21:30:17 Unknown |
I receive calls from this number 5 days a week. I have put my phone number on a do not call list, doesn't work. There are alot of trolls out there who want to steal your good name and credit. Just let the creeps call and blow a whistle into the phone, that will blow out their ear drum.
