this number has called the past few days. i want it to stop!! how can you get them to stop calling?
stop the fishing 2011-06-06 20:51:32 Unknown
Someone has been calling me several times from this number. I can not return the call because when I dial it, the message says the number is not activated. I finally answered and asked who it was and they said "Google" First of all, Google is a reputable company and if they called, they would want me to call them back, so, I'm pretty sure they would have an activated number. Second, they were definately from a "call center" overseas you could hear it in the background and the guy had an "other than american accent." I could hardly understand them. I tried to get info from them, but they insisted on calling at a later date. I am going to try to get in touch with Google.

Hi All;
I'm getting this call also.
They addressed me by the name I use on my Netflix's account. And only on Netflix.
So, if fits, give Netflix a call, and ask to be escalated to security. They don't think it's a problem.

These guys called and a lady answered the other line.
She said it was for google and some other crap but I could not understand her at all.
She wanted to send me some package and wanted to confirm my address. Naturally I did not give it to her but she already had it...
I just moved to my new address so I have no idea how they got that...and I do not have a Netflix account...

pity on po mostly honest publican telemarketers,i did this as a last resort,,from radio time to a charity,,,have worked with a 94 year old lady,a truly nice gram who reminisced about roosevelt, she would consistantly get absolute suspicion and hostility from people whom she called.people who cold sell, sell, dingy kids, alkies, and polished long term "pros",the proper voice is THE most value added quality, scripts, psychology, control and direction of the presentation, format, etc, are are of little importance, tho companies are out there who are honest, try hard to follow through, offer a product or service worthwhile to some people, and offer good benefits. These companies usually have a high turnover rate,,,,trying new people in order to maintain production, who don't last long and drift off.Charities are so far exempt from the no call list, and usually have to register in the state they perform their work in with the attorney general,,,,,,,,registration ought to include background, drug test, and an hourly rate, these folks are usually "independant contractors"get commission only, and ,without 'THE VOICE'they're not going to earn much, especially in this economy,,,,they may work 30 hrs a week for .80 an hour. These are often people laid off from customary line of work, retired on social security, ssi for mental health disability,,,sometimes drunk, high.Companies like these folks for creating a base of a few hundred "cold orders",which acquire added value to another rep(perhaps absent on a bender & hospital rehab) as a returning customer. The lady I referred to above, has since died,,,I'd be surprised if she didn't wonder, during the couple days before passing, why those she called were so rejecting of her good intentions,I think it was the voice, not personal,an anonymous voice without the requisite tones, that were the impediment.

did a search...call came from West Palm beach Florida....got in touch with a friend in West Palm... asked him to investigate...found the name of the cell phone service provider...."Global Crossings Local Services Inc".....went to their website.... directed to send an e-mail report reporting spam to "abuse@gblx.net"... suggest all others who get calls from this number do likewise.... if they get enough complaints maybe they will take action.

Have been getting calls from this number for several months, can hardly understand the person on the phone. The calls are coming out of Florida, asked to speak to Supervisor several times each time I am told he is in a meeting. I asked how they got my number she sd it was chosen at random. So I told her that was impossible as my number is unlisted and has been for years. Advised her not to call again as I also have her number and will be filing a complaint with FTC, FCC and any other government agency that would be interested in prosocuting phone scammers and con artists. She quickly thanked me and hung up...
Hopefully that will do the trick

http://phoneowner.info/Number.aspx/5612821852/2 Copy and paste. This site is similar to here, but with additional information. Slam was especially helpful. I called netflix, and Krystal was very concerned. She pasted the site and read the inference to Netflix. She said no one sells our info, but there are links who get paid if they get someone to setup an acct.
I just wrote a lengthy note to 3 different comissioners with the FCC.
Will let you know if I get a reply.

This is a scam to get you to sign up with one of those reverse number directories who charge you a fee for telling you who owns the number. Try it. You will see that they want a fee of about $39.95, but more than that they want your credit card number. People get frustrated and curious enough, they fall for it.

I get called from this number "561-282-1852" several times a day, say 6-7 times. It's only 9:35am and they've called 3 times already!. It's home business marketing related. Have no idea how that got my cell number but if you have an option on your cell to screen calls, do it. I set this option on my cell so every time this number calls, my phone doesn't even ring but goes straigh to voice mail. Not that they even leave a message.

Some non-english speaking guy trying to talk english is trying to sell me something or said i signed up for something. Just tell them to take you off of there list
Dustin 2009-03-19 17:23:45 Telemarketer
Finally got to talk to someone from this number. I could barely understand her english. She was from the Philippines. I asked what her company was called and she said she was a third party who calls for a company called Resv (i had her spell it b/c i could not understand her) out of Utah. I asked why she was using a Florida phone number that says it has not been activated and she responded that she did not know. She said they got our number because we clicked on an "anti-aging pill advertisement on the web".
At least knowing the company name and phone number, you can add them to your state's no-call list. In Indiana, we have a consumer complaint no-call list. Good luck!

I get repeated calls from this number, at least twice daily, and when I answer the phone there is nobody on the other end. I hang up quickly because I don't want to incur unwanted charges or have a telemarketer annoy me to death. Any idea what company this is or advice as to how to handle the calls?
gacatlover 2009-03-18 19:24:36 Unknown
I answered a call from this number and it is indeed some type of Google "job opportunity" scam. They wanted to mail me a package for no cost except for shipping. They asked me for my credit or debit card # and I told them flat out that I do not give that information out on the phone. The "man" asked me why and got very angry when I told him that I refuse to give my bank information over the phone. He started to argue with me and as he was yelling at me, I yelled back for them to not call me again and hung up. Since then, I have continued to get phone calls from them and I just blow a whistle into the phone. You'd think they would get the hint!!!!

Several calls a day, leave no message, may be auto warranty renewal company. Constant harassing calls. early AM and late PM.
I am on do not call list. This must be a computer calling at random.
