I WAS PACKING MY BOSSES FUDGE WITH A 24" FROZEN CUCUMBER WHEN THIS CALL INTERRUPTED ME AT THE 17.5" MARK. BY THE TIME I GOT OFF THE PHONE AND BACK TO MY CUCUMBER IT HAD THAWED IN JOHN BARRY'S CUCUMBER CHUTE.

Calls & calls but never leaves message

They've called my cell phone with the same robo message several times. I called back once and they asked for the Case # which I had not been able to write down because I was driving at the time they called. I said they should be able to search using my phone number since they obviously have it stored in their system but they said they could only search by case number or my name and they didn't have anything listed under my name. Most recently I have a partial voice mail message stating the name Barbara Adams and saying I was named in Order To Appear and Show Cause that contains a Restraining Order. I've been trying to call that number back and get a massage saying they are not available but to please leave a message.

My neighbor keeps getting phone calls from these people about a supposed lawsuit against me. I have never even talked to this neighbor before today. I called them and told me about a payday loan I'm already paying on. How do these people get this information?? How can I stop them from calling my neighbors and get the threatening phone calls to stop once and for all.

There is Scam going around that is very disturbing! I received 3 calls from different phone numbers over the past few days, all from the Boca Raton Florida area. The message said this was the Civil Investigations Unit and that I was named in a lawsuit, including a restraining order, and had to appear in court. I was to pass this message on to my attorney and call within 24-48 hours, there was an order to show. They gave a file number and all. When I Googled "Civil Investigations Unit Scam" it came up with website after website of people's complaints and that this was a Scam. One person gave his SS# and had his identity stolen, another was told he was being sued by a CC Company but if he wired the funds he could settle out of court. Another was scared enough to make a direct deposit from his bank account and by the next day his bank account was emptied. Two of the numbers they tell you to call are (561) 288-6311 and (727) 202-1062. Don?t call them back but please DO report the fraud! PLEASE REPORT THIS SCAM if you receive the phone-call so that these scam artists can be prosecuted!

just got a call today, telling me that this is a civil case against me that I have to call attorney, it just the others.

Additionally, check with the National Do Not call list (https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2) and with your state. In Oregon, the Department of Justice has a scam alert email list and Twitter feed.

In my case, my wife has the same common last name and first initial of someone in the same city who skipped on a few hundred dollars of consumer debt about 10 years ago.  We've received waves of calls as the debt has been sold to one company to another.  561-288-6311 is just the latest number we ignore.

I don't want any unwanted calls to my cell phone and I will take legal action if anyone calls my number that isn't serious business matters.  LEAVE ME ALONE! Losing my only daughter is hard enough to deal with in life let alone some ROBO telling me that I'm under federal investigations and have a restraining order! I am very close  with the Governor of Arizona and I will report this to Jan if this ever happens again!

I got the same call. I called back and got a recording. I left the cause number they gave me and my phone number, but left no other information. Not sure how, but they had my full name including my middle initial.

My husband got this call yesterday. We contacted our lawyer "after hours"  he said this sounds like a "scam" he would be dealing with it this morning.

These people called a family member and left this message with them.  This is wrong and has embarrased me terribly.  Isn't this illegal in some way.  the number they left to call back is the same as above.  561-288-6311.  when I googled it, I found this stream.  Thanks everyone for posting.

I Just received a call from this number and was told that this was a civil investigation case.I was told that I was being sued by HSBC for fraud and nonpayment of $895. I told them there must be a mistake because I am currently Paying payments to HSBC for a purchase and had always made double the minimum payment and always ontime. She said she would send the file back to be re-evaluated. I called HSBC and asked if there was a complaint about my account. Of course everything was in good standing. I was advised to call the credit bureau to make an alert report. All I could get was a recording. What can you do?

I received a call from this number today with an automated voice message about a civil suit and a restraining order, but when I called back it said my call could not be completed. I assumed it was a telemarketing number or scam, but wanted to confirm.

A person by the name of Scott Walsh called my in-laws house saying they have a lawsuit pending against me. They scared my in-laws to death.  I hope justice finds this Scott Walsh and takes away his ability to do this to other families.

I also got a call from them on my home and cell phone.  I called them back and they wanted me to verify myself with my first three numbers of my social security number.  I hung up and called the FBI who told me to report them to the Federal Trade Commission.  They took the report but said they will not do anything until others report it as well.

This number keeps calling me saying I am involved in a lawsuit to call back when I ask them to stop calling in a stern voice they hang up saying I'm rude but the robo calls continue. This has been going on for about one month now.

OMG I GOT THE SAME CALL TODAY IT FREAKED ME OUT THE TOLD ME I HAD 24 HRS TO GIVE THE INFO TO MY ATTORNEY I WAS BEING SUED FROM CHECK INTO CASH THIS DEBT WAS BACK IN AUG 2007 AND I WAS BEING SUED . I CALLED BACK MANY TIMES AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND THEY HAD NO INFO MY CASE HAS BEEN SENT TO THE COURTS . IS THIS REALLY A SCAM CAUSE I NEVER TOOK A LOAN NEVER . THESE PEOPLE ARE OUT OF THERE MINDS PLZ HELP ME WHO DO I NEED TO CONTACT

I got the same call claiming that there is a civil investigation against me and they even left me a case number.

The same thing just happened to me and scared me to death.  Please do not give them any money!  When they figured out I was onto them, they refused to talk to me and hung up.

I just received a  robo call from 561-288-6311 giving me a code number that started with ATLB-J plus numbers I was to forward to my attorney, restraining order and i am being sued! Stating this is a court action.. call was made to my under age child!

GO here and file a complaint.  If enough of us do this they might investigate and shut them down.

said that there is a lawsuit civil investigation along with a restraining ordered filed against me.  I had a PI run a civil/criminal check and nothing filed.  I tried to speak with someone and could not get through to a person.  THis is a violation of privacy and is considered threatening.  Report them.

I got this call too.  Where are the authorities when it comes to things like this.
