Did printing for an outfit like this years ago.Their gimmick was a charity for the blind.
Was a boiler room operation.Litlle if any $$$$ went to the blind.
I handled them on a C.O.D. basis only.

Just got a call from this number. Caller ID just showed "wireless caller". (I picked up because I have relatives in that area code.) The man said he was from the Florida Association of State Troopers and he wanted to send me a pledge card. This group has been a nuisance for years, and they are not listed as a charity/non-profit by either the BBB or Charity Navigator.

Got a call from 561-290-8435 just now. He asked for my mother who died in 1998. Told him nothing.
Then he said, you know what and hung up. Sounds like he called from a boiler room. Got to be a scam
telemarketer. Don't answer or just pick up and quickly hang up.

Received this call at 11:32 a.m. on 9/2/2011, caller I.D. verification indicated: West Palm Beach.
Picked up phone and I asked who was calling and was told "the Community Bar Assocation". I told them I was on the West Coast and that their call was coming from WPB and we didn't take calls from WPB not identified and we were on the 'no call' list and please don't call again. I then hung up.

Called this AM. Left no message. If it is a sales call, (Magic jack?) then it is illegal. I am registered on the national do not call list as well as the state do not call list.
