800notes.com is what the # is connected to. I did answer the phone and they hung up then I called back and it just rang. Why even bother calling. Unless they are trying to get an idea when some one is home.

Received a call from 561-296-1951.  Caller id said 'West Palm Be FL'.  I've received the same calls from 561-296-1944, 561-296-1965, 561-296-1966, 561-296-1945, 561-296-1958, 561-296-1956, and 561-296-1961.

As reported by others, they are collecting for the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association, which is nothing other than an association/union for law enforcement personnel.

Called it back and it is, indeed the Police Benevolent Association.

Many calls with no message and cannot return the call to the number.  We are on a do not call list.

If they don't stop calling me I will reach through the phone and strangle them!

I got a call from that number, too - answered, but said the person they were asking for wasn't home.  When I called the number back, no answer .. and no answering machine. It didn't sound like a non-profit.  SOme people seem to have too much time on their hands.  Don't know what can be done

I've discovered repetitve calls from 561-296-1951 on caller ID.  At 12:26 today I received a caller from this number and let it go into voice mail.  As soon as I did they hung up.  I am going to file a complaint with the do not call registry.

More than likely it is the Police Benevolent Association.  One of their many other numbers is 561-296-1966, 561-296-1944, etc.
If you have a cell phone just create them and other Telemarketers as a New Contact and then give them a special ring tone like a Duck or Robot that the iPhone has.  I know for a fact that the greater among of the money collected by them is kept by the people doing the calling as a fee.  At one time I know it was 80%.  The PBA will defend the Police if the get in trouble, as they did many years ago in West Palm Beach when they defended the policeman that beat to death Bob Jewett.

Get many calls from this number - always let it go to voice mail but they never leave a msg.

They hung up after 3 rings........did not let the call go to answering machine.   Strange - who is this person?

I am discouraged by this phone call (s) at all hours of the day.   What can we do?   Please advise.

Received a call from this same phone number, but I let the machine get the call today. They immediately hung up. Upon calling back, the line was busy.

I received a call from this phone number at 10:58am. Since I have received other unwanted calls beginning with 561-296-, I answered this one but was prepared. When the person on the phone said, "Hello, I'm looking for <name>," I told her she had the wrong number and hung up. When I tried calling back from my cell, I kept getting a busy signal. Guess she is onto calling the next person...

They said
"I'm sorry, I got the wrong number"
