Received the message, "Reporting excessive credit card transactions to your account."
mcraig 2011-08-24 19:28:48 Unknown
I had it happen to me in June. The business phone number was only an answering machine with a distinctly African accent. I did not notice the charge for two months and had already paid my credit card bill. It's strange that the card number was not then used for other fradulent charges. I have filed a dispute and am certain I will be refunded the charge.

Melanie,
This is the second time I have had this problem in a couple years. The first one had a different name but was listed in Florida also. I have never used an ATM so I think the problem has another scource. One thing I noticed is that a lot of these are debit cards... maybe all?

This is a credit card fraud scheme. Someone has your CC number, they have tested it on this site, and now they're going to sell it to other cyber-criminals. Cancel the card Immediately and get a new one from your issuing company.

i got it too!! come on people!! MAKE AN HONEST LIVING LIKE THE REST OF US!!
Dave 2011-07-27 17:39:16 Unknown
Same thing happened here. It's a cold comfort to see I'm not the only one. But it is my second time around with this in a year. Hope I don't have to ask the bank for a new card every six months. (sigh)

Had an unauthorized charge of $4.99 posted on my VISA card on 6/28/11 by MYNEWRINGTONE.BIZ (just rec'd my statement today). The card service co's can't or won't block these charges which means that we need new card #'s.

They charged my bank account 5.99. When I called them they did not answer. Filed complaint through bank. Will keep you posted on the outcome. SCAMMERS!

I reported this online fraud to the Federal Trade Commission.(Federal Bureau of Consumer Protection).
You can complete and submit the form online. https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
Did anyone hear about problems with Paypal? I thought this was a secure way to order online, but I heard there were some issues with them. I was wondering if this fraudulent Ringtone company hacked into that account.
Sharon 2011-07-22 22:10:49 Unknown
I have never gone on the Play Station website. I was wondering if they hacked into my paypal account. A few weeks ago, I changed my bank information on my paypal account. Also, you can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. You can complete and submit the form online. It only took a few minutes to complete. https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

It is myringtone.biz. It is a fraudulent site with a customer support number that belongs to a real company, not them.

I did not receive a phone call, but was charged $3.99 on July 20th. My bank is going to file a dispute claim, but they do not investigate. How were they able to continue this theft since January? What can we do about it.
Sharon 2011-07-22 14:37:43 Unknown
I also had a charge for $3.99 from myringtone.biz. I never even went to their website before. I did not order anything .The phone number on their website belongs to some flooring or roofing company. Someone from that number returned my call to let me know I had the wrong number. What can be done about this? Did anyone report this to the Better Business Bureau? All of these $3.99, $4.99, and $5.99 charges add up to a big theft from these people.
Chuck 2011-07-21 00:58:37 Unknown
Same think happened to me. Charged 5.99 to my card on July 5, 2011.
Dave J. 2011-07-19 02:17:08 Unknown
They got me today $4.99 and I am located Washington State.

No call that i remember but they charged 3.99 to my credit card.
Fred 2011-07-12 01:29:21 Unknown
I must be leading a charmed life -- my charge was only $3.99! Otherwise, same story as many above.

Got a $5.99 debit from my bank account. PLEASE report these incidents to the Florida Attorney General's office: http://myfloridalegal.com/Contact.nsf/Contact ... Economic_Crimes
As of today, I don't see that they have opened an investigation yet. Maybe if they get enough complaints...

I meant AN ATM machine.

Today, my husband and I were looking at his online bank statement, and there was a charge for 4.99 from MYNEWRINGTONE.BIZ 561-503-2369. My husband did not order a new ringtone, he has never received a call from the above number, and we had never heard of this company before today. I called the phone number and got an answering machine message that was recorded by someone who was obvoiusly not a native English speaker. We discovered this on the bank statement on a Saturday after the banks had already closed. We plan to go to our bank first thing Monday morning and cancel my husband's bank card. I am not sure how they got a hold of his debit card number, but he is a trucker and uses his bank card in many different locations when buying gas and food. Last year, we had to cancel his card because of a similar type of incident, and the people at the bank suggested that he may have used his card in a ATM machine that "skimmed" his card. My husband seemed to remember an ATM machine at an independently-owned mini mart that was different from those at the big chains. He thought maybe that particular ATM was the culprit. I hope that somehow these theives can be stopped.

I did not receive a phone call that I know of from this number (I rarely answer the phone.), but I did receive a $4.99 charge on a credit card for a ringtone and the 561 number was on the billing statement. I have never purchased a ring tone in my life and certainly did not purchase this one. I received no confirmation e-mail or invoice for the purchase of any product from this company.
I sent them an e-mail questioning the charge using the e-mail form on their website. I received no reply, not even an auto-generated acknowledgement that my e-mails had been received. I don't know if http://mynewringtone.biz is part of the fraud or profiting from it in anyway, but they certainly do not seem interested in doing anything about it.
To add insult to injury, after I posted a warning about this company on my Facebook page, an ad for the
the company appeared below my post, making it appear to the casual observer that I was endorsing them.

My account was charged $4.99 for a call I never made!
CH 2011-07-07 03:17:44 Unknown
I have taken care of the card and my bank refunded the $4.99 (small local bank = good guys). They are investigating. I have also filed a complaint with the NY Attorney General. Everyone should, or at least try to contact their own AG by email or phone. If enough do maybe we can shut these thieves down. One single $4.99 or $5.99 charge may seem like a small thing, but think how much they are stealing when added together. And we cannot know to whom they are selling these working debit card numbers.
kwhite 2011-07-06 21:29:16 Unknown
I got the same charge on my account too. Does anyone else have a phone account with Metro PCS? I was thinking that they had something to do with it because I can pay my account using my cell phone.
My bank told me that my only two options were to fill out a dispute form and fax or mail it, or cancel my card and wait for another one.
For Carol Roberts, it's .biz.
Carol Roberts 2011-07-06 13:18:22 Unknown
omigosh! Didn't recognize charge nor chargee!! Called & answer was to email at email support, mynewrington._______something I didn't understand. Didn't sound like net or com.

I received $4.99 charge to credit card from same bogus company. Too risky not to cancel & get new card. This SUCKS!!
Julie 2011-07-01 00:56:42 Unknown
I received a $5.99 charge to my credit card. When I called my bank to dispute, they actually told me that someone probably just mistyped the credit card number. Glad to see my bank is on top of things!!!
Dan 2011-07-01 00:26:14 Unknown
Same problem for me. No phone call. Just the bogus charge. And I gather others just get this one charge and not a string of charges. I wonder if some people just swallow the charge and gamble that some group is just trying various numbers to see if they work and that their number will never be used again.
\Does any one know?

Just got hit with a June 22 transaction for $4.99...and I've never purchased a ringtone in my life. One wonders how, if these fraudulent charges have been going on since at least March--with numerous people filing fraud reports against the company--that "mynewringtone.biz" still has a U.S. merchant account. We can't tell who the merchant bank is, but the issuing cc companies handling the fraud reports certainly can.
Seems the "mynewringtone.biz" domain was registered 1/5/2011, and it uses a masking service so that a whois lookup will not show the actual owner or registrant. I can locate no public info assumed name or corporate info for a company named "mynewringtone" in any permutation, and as mentioned no physical address or other company name is listed on their website. We need to help get this illegal operation shut down.
