I have been recieving calls from a Robert Woods from phone number 5612357230 and everytime I try to find out who this person is or what the nature of the call he, he starts shouting "just come to the court house, just come to the court house, we are going to garnish your wages, I have all the information I need to start the process if you don't go to the court house.

He stated that he was from some law firm Travis Law Firm, I believe that's what he said.

this number has been calling me for a bout a year now. The first time I answered, there was no one speaking/responding.They call regularly maybe once every 3 months... really strange!
What's more strange is that I didn't go to Florida in like over 15 years.

ted lee is fictitious........it is a computer generated voice.
these guys at this company are all into scamming debtors any way they have to to get payment. if it is your intention to pay the debt, and you dont wanna deal with these clowns, tell them you will pay it to the client direct. they hate that as they then get zero commision on the payment.

After calling them back and telling them not to call my house anymore i get "are you threatening me sir"
My wife is nicer, she found out they wanted his medicad number while he was a foster child with the state before we adopted him, of course she said no. Which of course the hospital that they are supposedly representing was giving all of my sons info while being registered! BEWARE, these guys are preying on people, absolute BS.

If you are being harassed by collection agencies we may be able to help. There are statutes that regulate methods collection agencies can use in attempting to collect debts. Some of these statutes allow consumers to recover damages, have part or all of their debt forgiven, and even recover attorney's fees. For more information contact Jeremy Kespohl in the Jax. Beach office at jeremy@bromagenlaw.com or (904) 242-0860

I got a call from this number this morning, I dont answer any calls that I don't recognize, I just let it go to voicemail and if it's important, they can leave a voicemail. These people did not, and because it was a phone number in my area code, I was curious, so I blocked my number and called back to hear THEY'RE voicemail greeting, and it was this Ted Lee. I immediately came on here to check out who this guy is and after reading all of your posts, I am ALREADY fired up. I suggest the same as FedUpWithScammers and WE start harassing THEM. I'm about to call them and start asking all sorts of invasive questions and let them know that I know plenty about who they are and what kind of operation they run and that I just so happen to be engaged to an attorney that specializes in this sort of thing. Thanks for your info guys, FIGHT THESE BASTARDS!

After I set up a payment plan and gave my bank account information to CIB to have my payments withdrawn from my account, I tried for 3 days to get them to fax a statement to my local bank that I was on a payment plan.  A female I spoke with set up the payments but told me she personally couldn't fax the payment plan to my bank, so a male I spoke with at CIB told me to fax my request for them to fax the info to my bank.  I did, but nothing was done.  When my banker told me that I needed to be persistent and that CIB should honor my request, I talked with the rudest "manager" who told me that CIB did not do payment plans (even though I had given them my bank acct #) and would not fax the information.  She spent most of her time chastising me for calling CIB and not calling her directly (though I had called the only number I knew and kept asking what difference the number made since I was now speaking with her).  She demanded payment in full and when I tried to explain that this was the only medical bill (out of many!) that I owed, she got rude and hung up on me. I can't believe anyone would refuse money in a payment plan from my checking account.

Collectors cannot tell anyone that you owe a debt.

I had recently received to messages from a man with an intimidating deep voice who identified himself as “Ted Lee of CIB”. In the message were statements such as “CIB has been hired to pursue further efforts against you for the resolution of account number 77****-7 to resolve  a past due account ...”.

According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act a collector may not tell anyone other than you (or an attorney that you hired for such an action) that you owe anyone money. By leaving a message on a  telephone answering machine indicating that you owe a debt is doing just that and as such is a violation of the law. *

Anyone up for a class-action law suit?

My wife called me practically in tears after receiving a extremely rude call from this company. I am deployed to Iraq as of now and have both Medicaid AND Tricare. The woman demanded cash payment despite my wifes attempts to explain that she had two insurances. The woman was relentless however and continued to demand payment by cash or or she would report us. My wife told her that she had never even received a bill through the mail about the visit. The woman told my wife where she lived, my wife replied, "Well thats not my actually not my adress." She corrected the woman with the correct address, right after the zip code the woman hung up on her.

My wife is pregnant and alone... she doesnt need this sort of abuse. Especially unjustified abuse from a debt collector.

It's a great scam they've got going there.

Debt Collector
i am an ex employee of collection information bureau.
i left there as a result of their lack of professionalism and their repeated violations of the fair debt credit act.
let me give you some insight.
1) there is no ted lee. the voice is computer generated and the person does not exist.
2)you can stop all calls, whether to work or your home by faxing them a cease and desist letter. they are allowed by law to contact you 1 time only after reciept of the fax. if they call your work or home after the last lawful call, they could be fined 1k for every call they make to you. you as well will recieve 1k for each DOCUMENTED call after that one final legal call to you.
3)if they threaten to take you to court-----1k violation.
4)if they tell you they are calling from a law office....1k fine.
5)if they call you more than once a day, including messages, 1k fine.

have your recorder going on each and every call. they record every out-going call they make and in florida that is ILEGAL if they dont for-warn you and ask permission to do so.
it is legal for you to record any inbound call in florida but not out-bound w/o approval.

finally....if you indeed wanna piss em off, tell them you have no intent to pay and then hang up. but then pay directly to the dr office. cib will recieve no commision on this. dont tell them you are doing that as they will 'flag' the account as pending and even tho you pay dr direct, they will get commision.

and lastly......ask them about the collector 'dante' and ask if he is available. as it turns out they had a senior collector who was arrested by the fbi one day when the fbi and marshalls service kicked their locked doors in to grab him at work. guy was wanted on a ten year warrant for murder in new york.
these folks are also racist. i was one of only 2-3 african americans to work there in the past ten years.

Debt Collector
Please, PLEASE do not give these scammers/debt collectors ANY information, especially checking account information! I am a debt defense attorney in Florida, and the "debt" that they are calling about could be complete fiction, an old debt that you no longer owe due to statute of limitations, or someone else's debt that they are trying to collect from you. For those of you who are worried--don't be scared, be angry! You are being abused and harassed, and this is against the law! I've seen some good advice and information given by other posters, and would just like to add that every day I hear stories like this from clients, and when appropriate, I file a lawsuit on the clients behalf, at no charge to the client. When a debt collector is harassing you or abusing you, find a local consumer attorney and SUE THE DEBT COLLECTOR. No one should have to live with constant harassment and abuse. If any of you are in the Miami area, you are welcome to contact me for advice www.debtdefenselaw.com or 305-444-4323  If you are outside the Miami area, use the NACA resource that another poster suggested www.naca.net they have a "Find an Attorney" section with legitimate consumer attorneys all over the country who can help you in situations like this.
Best of luck everyone,
Attorney Erik Kardatzke

so i kept getting these calls all hours of the day .... i call back and the guy who answered was VERY rude and told me he was not going to help me because i was trying to talk to him and he didn't want to hear anything i said .... but when u call someone and especially when its a business calling you, your not really expecting to get yelled at for asking a question or trying to get the person on the other line to listen to what u have to say and the questions you have !! Ted lee has very unprofessional reps working for him and when cust. says "take me off YOUR calling list\you have the wrong person" your suppose to respect their wishes and nicely do what they asked!!!! they are very rude and do not know how to run a business ..... AND THEY NEED TO BE TRAINED HOW TO DO A JOB CORRECT AND TO ACT PROFESSIONAL

I just called the number and I talked to a man who was actually very nice and polite. He explained who they are and why they are calling. I actually forgot about a small medical bill and I asked him if there was any other way to pay for it than on the phone, since I don't like to give out personal info to anyone, and I also asked him if I can look them up on the net and find them legit and he gave me their website, which I'm gonna look up on BBB.org, but he seemed very nice. He didn't get all offensive even when I questioned the legit state of their company, and didn't hang up on me. I was prepared to "fight back"....lol.
