The same thing happened to me regarding the car warranty. Perplexed, I told them I leased, and they hung up.

After asking for the number of the warranty to be expired they hung up. Bellsouth is no longer the carrier for this number, is AT@T, and a class action should be initiated for their conspiracy to provide deceptive phone advertising by one of their clients. This auto warranty scam has the same pattern as the one from the credit card low rate offer.
Send a cease and desist letter to the president and CEO of AT&T requesting to stop this conspiracy, then a complaint can be filed with the FTC. It is important to have proof of attempting to correct the matter with the source.

When I get these out of state and unrecognizable senders, I have been
picking up, then  hitting the ### and 00 consistently; sometimes this throws
off the computer memory...it has worked for me several times...I didn't catch the 561-649-9574 call in time to do this.  Apparently our "do not call" list
does not work as these unwanted calls are on the increase and usually are about
lowering  your interest rates, getting government money or a car warranty.

This is another one in a series of well over a hundred calls from this company - sometimes purporting to be Account Services, sometimes from an auto warranty company.  Repeated filings with the Do Not Call List has done nothing.  Unfortunately, the number that shows up on Caller ID is "spoofed" and isn't their actual number.

Help is on the way:

SCHUMER CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE FEDERAL ACTION ON CAR WARRANTY CELL-PHONE SPAM CALLS NOW DRIVING NEW YORKERS CRAZY

Annoying and Potentially Costly Computerized Telemarketing Calls Invading Cell Phones at Alarming and Growing Rate - Calls Warn "Your Car Warranty Has Expired" - 20,000 Complaints Already Logged Nationwide

Scam Artists Generate Numbers Randomly and Repeatedly So NY'ers Still Getting Calls Even If They Are on the Do Not Call List - Eating Up Minutes and Potentially Costing Hundre

Today, U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer requested that the Federal Trade Commission act swiftly to stop companies behind the wave of cell phone spam pitching bogus car warranty?s to New Yorkers and unsuspecting cell phone users across the country. Even worse, the scam artists are using random call generators allowing them to call people who are on the Do Not Call List, calling them repeatedly, driving them crazy, and gobbling up costly cell phone minutes. Schumer said the calls, which have been reported for months, are on the rise. Schumer himself and members of his staff received nearly identical calls last Thursday and the Better Business Bureau has gotten more than 140,000 inquiries from victims across the country. Schumer today asked the FTC to work quickly to identify the scam artists and shut their operations down.

?Cell phone spam may not be the biggest problem we have to deal with, but in the end it?s driving everyone nuts and it could cost New Yorkers hundreds in wasted cell phone minutes, or more if they get caught in the scam,? Schumer said. ?This is an annoying scam whose perpetrators have found a way around the Do Not Call List. The FTC has to track them down and then shut them down to put an end to this nuisance once and for all.?

The scam begins when someone?s cell phone rings from an unrecognized number. The caller then turns out to be a computerized voice selling car warranties with voice starting out by saying "Out of warranty? You are still eligible to reactivate warranty coverage. This is the final call before we close the file." The recording typically gives the caller an option to stop receiving calls, usually saying "press two to be removed from the follow up list." However, the calls continue to come. The company making the calls has no idea what car a person is driving because the calls are randomly generated, so their contention that your warranty "is about to expire" is bogus.

Schumer today asked the Federal Trade Commission to take immediate action to stop the companies behind these intrusive and unsolicited car warranty telemarketing calls ? both to cell phones and land lines.  In a personal letter to FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz, Schumer wrote, ?Not only are these calls a nuisance, but they tie up land lines and can eat up a user?s cell phone minutes, possibly leading to a higher cell phone bill due to overage charges.  Consumers should not have to pay in both money and time for this or any other type of robo-dialer harassment.?

Schumer received one of these annoying calls on his cell phone last week and also will file an official complaint through the FTC?s website, www.donotcall.gov. Schumer encouraged any New Yorker who receives one of these calls to do the same.

May 10, 2009

The Honorable Jon Leibowitz
Chairman, Federal Trade Commission
600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20580

Dear Chairman Leibowitz,

I am writing today to ask the Federal Trade Commission to take immediate action to stop the companies behind the increasing number of intrusive and unsolicited car warranty telemarketing calls ? both to cell phones and land lines.  I have received a significant number of complaints from New York constituents about these deceptive, pre-recorded messages.  I myself received one of these annoying calls on my cell phone just last week and intend to file an official complaint through the FTC?s website, www.donotcall.gov.

I understand that more than 140,000 people have contacted the Better Business Bureau regarding this specific type of call.  Consumers report that even after choosing the message option to remove your number from the company?s list, the calls continue.  Not only are these calls a nuisance, but they tie up land lines and can eat up a user?s cell phone minutes, possibly leading to a higher cell phone bill due to overage charges.  Consumers should not have to pay in both money and time for this or any other type of robo-dialer harassment.

Mr. Chairman, I urge you to determine whether these unsolicited, deceptive and possibly costly calls violate any of the laws enforced by the Federal Trade Commission, and to act swiftly against any company found in violation of such laws.  The National Do Not Call Registry was intended to give consumers a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls.  I am concerned that car warranty telemarketing calls are making a mockery out of that choice.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.  I look forward to hearing from you on this issue.

Sincerely,

Charles E. Schumer
United States Senator

I'm sending this to everybody who is concerned and wants to see the end of this company.I'm willing to work with anybody or official who wants to investigate this company and shut it down unfortunately I have to keep myself anonymous for my safety because these guys are capable of anything.A lot of things are going on at that place: drug use, credit card fraud and they just hire anybody that comes through the door most of the current employees are convicted felons from a work release program, these criminals make up about 80% of their workforce. There was a poster here who described a lot of things that were going on over there right on target
Joshua Decker is the general manager and he recently had to take leave from work for about 3 days because of cocaine abuse
Chris Sagnelli is the VP and also part owner of the company he smokes weed and snorts cocaine right in the parking lot, they had this girl in customer service whose name was aretha moodie she was their drug dealer but they got rid of her about a month ago. Our sales tactics are very unethical  and illegal I'm surprised they haven't shut this place down yet I guess you people are not complaining enough to the right authorities.
Michael Massaro is one of the sales managers and he is also a convicted felon, you have all these guys Phillip Strand who is currently on house arrest is also a manager, Edward Zeff, James Dryden, Andrew all these guys are a bunch of crooks and they should all be arrested, the worst thing is the owners are having sex with a lot of the female employees that's how they get pay raises and promotions. drugs are everywhere, people are being scammed on a daily basis, these people should be stopped before it's too late. I urged everybody to call the FTC and complain or the attorney general

A RoboCall is a call that is anwered by a computer instead of a person when you pick up the receiver... these are illegal except for the government
4. What can I do if I receive a robocall that I think is illegal?
1) Call your local telephone company to file a complaint. You must give them the
name of who called and if possible the telephone number of the robocaller (it
may be provided in the message.)
2) Your telephone company will then tell the business that it is not following the law
and may give it some time to correct the problem.
3) If the business does not correct the use of the robocaller by the time given by the
telephone company, the telephone company can disconnect the phone line.
4) If you are not satisfied with the telephone company?s response to your robocall
complaint, you may contact the CPUC?s Consumer Affairs Branch by filing a
complaint online at http://www.cpuc.ca.gov/PUC/forms/Complaints/ or by
telephone at 1-800-649-7570 or in writing to:

It's called phone spoofing.  This is mostly done by collection agencies.  They pretend to be someone else and getting enough info from you to create an account.  Next thing you will get is a paper threat to pay something in full or go to court.  Some of us have been dealing with these bottom feeders for months and years.  We have programs that track and trace these numbers and then match them to the time and dates with the phone company. None have matched the actual caller.  They also spoof themselves as your neighbors. Advice: take your bill or some proof to the phone provider and have them trace.  If you owe money or have ever in the past, you can bet places like these will be faking themselves as someone else to get the data they need. Type:"phone spoofing" in your browser or here's a site for a start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing .  Everyone should be aware of these activities for their own protection. Also see: "predictive dialers" and "VOIP".

I've been informed by a fairly reliable source that this same company is a "job training program" for an addiction rehab program in Sanford, Florida.  Amazing.

Anyone in a position to research this further??

If you enter the above number into google, you'll see loads of other folks
with the same complaints -- this company uses many phone numbers it appears,
and we here with 561-649-9574 are on our own since there is no info
registered with that non-working number.

Well, check what google has to say and be alone no more!  Now we can get these
lawbreakers (we know from the do not call violations).  Um, at least.

Received a robocall telling me my warranty was going to expire.  A little online research uncovered a suspect company.  I called the toll free number and the woman confirmed that they make random calls with a recorded message that links to an operator if you press 1.  So this is the culprit (I filed a complaint with FCC and I urge you to do the same.)  The slimeball CEO's cell phone number is 954-980-1394.  He answers the phone as "Hello, this is Chris Coward" so it's him.
