NEVER GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION LIKE THAT. Do like I did file with the FCC, It has been three days since I filed a numbber with them and I have not received another call, I have caller ID on my phone and if I don't know the number or name I don't answer the phone. Those people will never leave a message.

He told me he was a "verification officer" with my bank said someone was attempting to debit my bank account. He said it was an internet company and asked if I had signed up for that service. I told him I already have an internet provider. He said two amounts- $99 and $50 were going to be charged to my account monthly. He said he could stop the transaction and asked me for my routing and account numbers. He also asked me for the number of the last check I wrote and the amount. Then he asked me if I was over 75 ! When I said no, he told me I "qualified" for having a fraudulent transaction stopped. (Huh?) Unfortunately I was distracted and terrified that my account had been hacked again - I had some problems with that about 6 months ago - and gave him the account numbers - can't BELIEVE I did that... Then he asked me which bank I use, that was the final red flag. I immediately hung up and called my bank, they confirmed it is a SCAM, and took immediate steps to protect my account. I feel so stupid because I know better but I guess he caught me at just the wrong time....and, if you feel smug that you don't fall for scams, the moral is...there's a first time for everybody.

Have received 4 calls in the last few Days. Just went to FCC web site and filled out form 1088 or 1088B  and submitted it. Will post again if I hear from them. Was able to give them 5 dates plus time  call was made, all in the last week.

Did not identify who he was with.
Told me he had a check they considered fraudulent in the amount of $349.00 from Magazine supply.
I told him I had not written that check.
He asked me to check and see if the next check number was still in my checkbook.
I told him that it was.
He then asked me to read my account number from the bottom line of my checkbook.
I told him that I was not comfortable giving out my account number to a stranger over the phone.
(If he had a real fraudulent check all he had to do was to read it himself.)
He assured me that he was calling on a secure line - that is why the caller ID didn't work.
I assured him that my line was not secure - I have a wireless phone - anybody with a 75 mhz receiver can listen in.
He hung up.

These people @the above # call every two hours and  leave no message.  I do not answer because they are calling me on my phone, in my house, for which I pay quite a price.   I willingly keep and maintain the phone for me and my family for privacy, family and friends, courtesy to/for nearby neighbors and security/reasonable needs.

Calling from Florida and not leaving a message is not what I call good protocol. It is impolite and unreasonable.  Everyone else clarifies who they are and what they want.  Holding secrets and hoping I will pick-up is not going to work.  It's got-to-be a scam.  I want it stopped!

Same as Ken, but said Bank of America. When I said I do not have an account there, "David" hung up on me.

Caller identified himself as a member of the fraud unit and said someone had written a $99 check to my account.  When asked to identify himself and the bank, he indicated the "bank you usually do business with."  I then became very nasty regarding why he was taking advantage of people, particularly seniors, in such a way and he hung up.  Clearly a fraud.
