it's NOT this vancek fellow...the caller is using a caller ID spoofing service.  The number on your caller ID does not belong to them.

I got two calls from 561-756-1266 on 12/14. Both showed on caller ID as VANCEK MICHAEL. I've never heard of him. However, I get a lot of calls from collection companies, so any time an unfamiliar name or number shows up, I assume it's a collection agent and I don't answer. Maybe he's a collection agent, maybe not.

I searched Google and several people-finder services. Michael Vancek is a real person, though his actual first name is probably Michal; that's what turns up more results. Under either name, Vancek lives or lived in Boca Raton and Delray Beach, Florida, both served by the 561 area code. Vancek has posted on the internet at least once, and it's easy to find a street address where he lives or did live. If you really want to learn more about him, you can pay the fee at any of the people-finder services (they'll show up when you Google his name), which will give you all the current and past addresses and phone numbers, relatives' names, possible employers and business associations, and other personal data. I didn't care enough to pay the fee; outing him here is enough for me.

Just got this call a minute ago. It came up as Michael Vancek. This is just one of many strange phone calls like this.

Those idiots need to go pick +&*^ with the chickens! Calls are unwanted, unwelcome.

the 561-756-1266 number called me earlier today. I didn't answer but tried to call back and every time it is busy. and just now i received a call from 815-276-8667.And when i called this number back, it said it wasnt a real number or something like that.. I did a free credit report a few days ago for an apt, then realized the lady was a scammer. i am a tad freaking out cause if they have our numbers, what else do they have?

I got this one tonight, too, in addition to one from 815-276-8667.  Both had a 1 before them.  That's strange.

yeah i got the call today dec-14 and i didnt get to it in time and then tried to call it back did the phone reverse check name came up michael vancek first few times got quick busy then later i called and then it told me that the number was wrong been getting a few like this and i also applied for a credit card... so im hoping im not f***ed here. hope who ever it is trying to scam ppl they get caught.

was looking for apartment on craigslist and this is obviously a person trying to scam people!!

I did a free credit report to get an apartment last week and just cancelled my subscription yesterday.  STRANGE STRANGE STRANGE!

I started to fill one out but didn't complete it...maybe you're right...

I got a call from this number as well...got a busy signal when I called back as well...ugh...so irritating when this happens!!!

any of you fill out an online credit report request recently?  that's what I did (last week) and have received NUMEROUS spam phone calls from NUMEROUS different numbers in the past week (all of them are fake numbers...if you try to call them back they won't go through).

I was unable to answer the call, and even though I rarely call back missed numbers, I did so in this case.  First try was busy, second came up with an announcement stating the number I reached by incorrect.  Sounds fishy to me.

I do have applications through USAJOBS; could there be a connection here?

I did the same thing...started to fill one out and didn't finish.  But I had already entered my address and phone number etc. by the time I left the online site.  The calls started the next day.  I have NEVER had these kinds of problems with my number before, and I've had the same number for nine years.  It's obvious that it's connected to that credit report company.  The scumbags sold my number.

the name is michael vancek and i got the call from them and missed it but i cant get it to go through it is a scam though! my advice dont apply for credit checks online go to your bank and do it they will tell you.
