i have received several calls from  Sandra Garcia on my message machine each one escalating charges and legal pursuits to recover money owed to ADHW.  I went through my records and realized i have not purchased anything from them in 3 years and had sent them a check to cover the cost of the freezer bags back then.  I also realized that when i originally ordered these i went out of town for a few months and didn't realize that the bill for them was in the box with the freezer bags.  They sent me a "gentle reminder" to pay which i immediately did.  i tried to call this Sandra Garcia back to tell her that but the number (562-867-6119) says "not in service".   This is obviously a scam and they can't afford to put anything in the mail without committing the federal crime of mail fraud....

Sandra from ADHW internal collections left me a message to call her back between the hours of 10am and 6pm.  As she was leaving the message about the time, she was yawning.

My mom just received a call from this number. They prey on the elderly because in the old days it was disgraceful to go to the "debt collectors". She put my mom in tears! All I can say is "Karma"...

Stop calling me or my lawyer will be filing harassment charges

Brittney Myers of ADHW, should be arrested for elder abuse.  He's harassing my 80 year old Mom saying she owes money for light bulbs she ordered 3-4 years ago.  It's a scam.  He is unable to prove my Mom ever ordered a thing.  He's a little weasel who picks on old ladies.

American Disadvantaged Handicapped Workers.

We received a call from Sandra Garcia 562-867-6119 while away. When we returned, I left a message; she returned the call.  Ms. Garcia said there was postal tracking on a light bulb shipment in 2011, cited some dates, and asked if I had the authorization to speak for my husband because he was unavailable. I did. When my husband finished a family matter and came into the room I was in, I asked him if he ordered light bulbs. Ms. Garcia angrily said, "You lied to me. Your account is going to collections." And hung up.

After a while, my husband called Ms. Garcia back, and she feigned not to know my husband's name. He informed her that we have not given to outside telephone solicitation calls in years and only give locally. According to Ms. Garcia, the American Disadvantage Handicap Workers is a FOR PROFIT organization that hires some handicap employees. Supposedly an order was placed on 12/1/2011 and because of failed attempts to collect an unstated balance the account was sent collections. There's a problem: we did not receive the light bulbs.

We are registered on the "National DO NOT CALL Registry" at http://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/do-not-call-list. This is a FOR PROFIT company according to Ms. Garcia. Because it is a "for profit" company, it falls under the FCC guidelines and this company must  give you the option to opt out from their specific do-not-call list.

Has anyone realized that old 60 watt bulbs can no longer be sold? Is this a scam to scare people into giving away money?

I recevied a call from Sandra telling me I ordered trash bags in December of 2011 and they have not recieved payment.  I asked her my address and she gave me the wrong address and when I told her that was not correct she said she would remove my name from the list and not send me to collections.  Sounded like a real scam to me???

I received a call from Sandra last Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, telling me that I had a invoice that had not been paid for some degreaser I had ordered in 2011 and was delivered in January of 2012. (She said she had a copy of the freight bill showing it was delivered to my house). If I did not take care of this it was going to go to collections.  The original bill was $69.99.  I did not remember ordering any degreaser especially for that large amount of money.  I proceeded to tell Sandra that I did not remember this and if I had ordered the degreaser I definitely would have paid for it when I got the invoice.  She proceeded the tell me since it had been 2 years, I owed $249.81 for late fees, interest and penalities.  BUT, if I agreed to pay for it today she would knock off some of the late fees and I would only owe $169.89.  This would be the price to keep this from going to collections.  I have been torn about this because I didn't remember ordering, but felt I should pay my bills.  NOW I know this is a scam and I will not be sending Sandra a dime of my hard earned money.  Thank you all for your input here......makes me feel so much better.

I talked with Rebecca from ADHW today at 562-867-6002 and she claimed that I had purchased 60W light bulbs in Dec 2011 and she had my mailing address and supposedly the delivery slip. I told her that I never ordered the bulbs, was out of town and had a mail service pick up my mail and never received any light bulbs. She told me that I owed $85.99 plus late fees. I told her that she had the wrong person because I had order light bulbs from them @ 19 years ago and they were horrible and I would never do it again. I asked for her mailing address and email address and told her that I would report this to the AG and the police and asked her not to call again. She threatened that I would be getting a letter in the mail and a court date and hung up.

I have received 3 or 4 calls from ADHW since April.  It is always the same, some bill I owe is about to go collection.  I have never heard of this company.

I received two calls in the past week from Rebecca at ADHW stating that we have a past due account.  I have not talked to Rebecca yet.  Her phone number is 562-867-6122 which when I looked it up is a Mexican Restaurant in California.  My husband did purchase items from Lifeline Industries back in 2008 and I found my cancelled checks for both times that he ordered items.  I am glad for this site and one other that I found talking about this organization trying to scam people.  So what does that say for our true Disabled VETs?????????  I will be ready for Rebecca when she calls again!!!!

I have a total of 12 messages left by Sandra Garcia of ADHW internal collections, informing me of a past due bill which was 18 months delinquent.  When I asked why I had not received a "reminder" in the mail, she said "they" did not send mail reminders, explaining that most people do not respond to such reminders.  I told her I would check back through my records, because I had (in the past) ordered some things from a handicapped organization.  In the meantime I looked up the telephone number on line and found many reports of people receiving the same "payment due" messages.  The advice on line was to ignore the messages as scam attempts.  I did ignore future calls, but because I had actually talked with "Sandra Garcia," I suppose she felt she could wear me down and collect an exaggerated payment from me.

Received two phone calls from a "Sandra Garcia" regarding past due balance.  Haven't ordered anything from the handicapped organization in over 3yrs & paid for what I did order when it came in!  Won't be ordering again!

My mother has also had the very same woman, "Sandra Garcia" call her leaving rude and threatening messages.

I received a call from American disadvantaged handicapped workers stating that I had a delinquent bill dating from jan 15, 2012 for some scissors. I do not recall making that order or receiving any scissors. She wanted me to pay over the phone or by check via mail. Original amount was $34.99 but with late fees she said it came to $179.82. The woman used the name Sandra Garcia. I said I would pay by check, but now I wonder what to do ....

I also received a phone call on July 30 from the same person stating that I ordered light bulbs in Dec of 2012.  I have ordered from another handicapped organization but never light bulbs. She went through the same message about sending it to collections and that there would be a large fee from the collections office as well as back balances due on the outstanding amount.  I asked why I had not received any notices in the mail stating I had an open balance and she said they do not do that.  They only contact by phone.  First time I had heard anything like that.    Unfortunately I may have to stop ordering from my company also.

My father has received three messages from Sandra Garcia with ADHW internal collections.  We had never heard of ADHW and were unaware of any past due accounts.  I reported them to the local sheriff's office and have since found them listed under another number on this website as a known scam.  In the distant past my dad has ordered light bulbs from a handicapped workers organization.  From the complaints under the other number it sounded like some received calls out of the blue and that others had  "helped out" such a charity in the past and ended up with threatening collections phone calls when they quit ordering.  Thank you 800notes for providing this service.
