Six unsolicited texts receive by me and many other callers last evening. I do not know who it is, and I do not give them permission to contact me. Should I reply to the text and ask them to remove me from their list?

But it does not give you the right to use up minutes or text of my plan that I PAY FOR.  I pay for this for what I want to use it for. Not to be preached to

They sent my Grandpa a bunch of 'religious' messages. 6 in a row. Ridiculous.

Received six text messages (which I pay for, like it or not) from 563 424 8685. Religious GARBAGE, unsolicited. Am on no-call list.

Repent or die horribly or blah blah blah! This stuff is utterly demented nonsense. Almost but not quite funny, mostly just ridiculous.

If you are on the do not call list then telemarketers won't call you. We still have freedom of speech and freedom of religion. You weren't called by a business but an individual who wants to share the truth with you. The choice is your what to do with it.

tells me to repent my sins and something about the 10 commandments... text who was this..no reply.... then called.. went into a voicemail with the same message as the text...

Report them to your phone service provider..

This is disgusting and totally UNsolicited!  Please find this person and do your best to stop him/her crom sending this stuff out willy nilly.

Forward the text to 7760. The 7760 does work for all carriers. I have straight talk and it worked for me.

    Just got 6 religious texts ending in a link for another movie (which I will not name since I don't want to add ANY publicity for it.)  I texted back "I am on the do not call list, and am reporting this illegal text spam via FCC Form 1088G as well as to Verizon Wireless."
    Do this though! Make sure to file a FCC Form 1088G -- the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) commissioner a few years ago was unhappy at the amount of junk calls he was getting, and the FTC's (Federal Trade Commission's) speed in bringing the hammer down on spammers, and so made fining phone spammers an FCC priority.  The FCC can't fine for violating the Do Not Call list (as far as I know the FTC has sole authority), but almost every spam call or text has plenty of fineable FCC offenses which they do fine for.

    Also, 7726 works for Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, and T-mobile all support 7726, so forward these no matter what carrier you have.  Verizon Wireless for one is know for suing text and phone spammers but I think all of them will come down pretty hard on this type of thing.

Received a lengthy text about repenting for my sins,  after I have known many other people to get this msg. I am on do not call registry and do not give out my private number, how do they obtain personal cell phone info??

Thanks for the Verizon tip.  I have received these text twice and it is ridiculous.  I responded "what" to the first six texts and two days later got six more calling me a thief and liar.  I responded to the sender "usually people like u need to look at their own life and stop judging others.  Stop sending random texts and look at your own life". I also did the Verizon spam report so hopefully this stops.  Whoever u are, look at your own life and figure things out with those around you.  Sure u have a message for others but don't hide behind random texts, be real and spread the word face to face.

I got the same messages. 6 texts about how i need to be saved and that i am a sinner if I dont save myself. This has been going on for weeks now even though i tell them to stop. I have no idea how they got my  number but it is really annoying.

I write this somewhat tongue-in-cheek: Everyone seems to be able to get their hands on a robo-caller machine. Everyone's phone number, land line or cellular, is fair game. These characters simply dance around the Do Not Call registry. My personal opinion is that we are in a war for our privacy and our peace of mind against these "monsters". How do we fight them? They are becoming "ubiquitous". They must have an "Achilles heel" somewhere.

I have received 6 texts messages from this number telling me about how God is going to punish me, etc.  I'd like to know how they got the number since it is on the do not call listing.

I have received a total of 6 text messages from this number all telling me that God is going to punishment me and it goes on and on, so long that it takes 6 messages to get it all.  This is the 2nd time that I have received these, even after I replied to "STOP". I have to pay for each text message I get, is there anyway I can find out who sent this so I can get it to stop?

Receive message regarding scripture and to repent, they were too late already did that Sunday.

I received 6 texts of scripture in a row at 10:30 at night. I do not know how they got my number.

Thanks for the helpful hint.  I received 6 unsolicited text messages today from some Christian group that I have to pay for.  So your advice really came in handy.

I also found out that you can block unsolicited calls and text messages for up to 5 numbers for 90 days for free if you are a Verizon customer.  You need to go into their website and search on 'Block Calls."

I just got a long message of them preaching to me about my sins and god. I just replied back vulgar words and told them I was atheist when I really am not. So far over an hour and no response back
