Just got messaged to buy my bed. I started feeling really unsettled and googled the number... Thank goodness I did.

Just got a text message from this number about items I posted on Bookoo. "I am a military personnel and in camp right now where my communications & movement are restricted due to security reasons" LMAO seriously?

I'm 13 and live on camp Pendleton this person said he was in the military and was at camp. He wanted to buy my guitar for 200 dollars of bookoo! He said he would send me a check and send extra to give to his "movers" my parents didn't have a good feeling but they let him send me a check. The check arrived for $1,490 we took the check to his" bank" it is a fake check don't bot cash it! We had it shreded! Please be careful!

It is a classic scam - you cash the check and send money to their "movers" and you find out the check is fake.  That leaves you on the hook for both the money you sent and the amount of the check.  Think about it - why couldn't they send the money to their "mover" themselves?  Craigslist has a link on it's website telling people to sell locally only and always with cash as this sorts out the real sellers from the scammers.

This number text message me wanting to buy my fride on a site I posted it on. who ever it is claimed to be in the military out a military post I work at. They told me they would send me a check and I was to cash it and send the rest of it to their mover. I told them I was not comfortable doing so and also said it seemed like a scam to me and have not heard another word from them. I am pretty sure it was a scam that went bad for who ever is on the other end.
