Just left a message on my Verizon voicemail indicating that I could (perhaps) reduce my credit card interest rate, though an identifying account name was never mentioned. The message instructed me to press 9 to speak to a representative.... and went on to say that this was a limited time offer.

Tired of getting these calls.  Is there not a way to stop them

Caller ID read V083011084200196. Didn't bother to answer.

Calls then hangs up. Daily!!

Don't waste your time trying to get a subpoena against anyone in America -- that was a made-up number, and they weren't in a very creative mood if all they could think up was 567-200-0000.
Some local phone systems put "Ohio" in the Caller ID because that's all they can make of that impossible number.
Those who heard a quick hang-up when they answered -- congratulations!  You were just added to a list of known "live" numbers (those answered by a human) that they were just gathering to sell to Russian or Indian boiler rooms.
Never answer when it says "Unknown", "Lower Interest", or nonsense in the Caller ID -- if they're legit, they'll leave a message.

Please copy and paste this message at the top of every phone number you search. It'll help the next person hopefully.

When you file a worthless DNC complaint they put your new fresh name at the top of the DNC list, which will help those jerks when  these start adding new numbers to those they call. You'll have your fresh new phone number at the very top of their sucker list. DNC complaints from citizens are worthless and ineffective I stopped filing DNC complaints months ago. The answer to our problem is using a hand held tape recorder and then repetively tape (over and over the same sound) the disconnected/out of service tone until you have about two minutes worth to play to these jerks that call us. The sound is the same one telezaper uses. I started using a repeated two minute recording of the same sound as telezapper and my calls have gone from an average of 4-10 calls a day, down to none to one per day, up until today when I wasn't here to answer the call and play them my new tape. It works. Have the tape already going before you answer the phone and continue playing it until they either hang up or you think that the tape is close to the end. If so then you hang up. They won't call back, I've proven it to myself already after just using it a few weeks. Prior to using it I've put up with over two years of these nusinance calls.

I got a call from this number too.. of course I didn't answer it since by the caller ID it was obviously a telemarketing scam of some sort.  
And to Old ECM Troop who commented several months ago.... your answer to unwanted telemarketing phone calls is to murder or threaten to murder the telemarketers with you .45 caliber?  The type of gun you have is really irrelevant and secondly you are much more of a real danger/threat to our society than any telemarketer.  I honestly believe you and those like yourself who use their weapon to threaten people over telephone calls belong in jail or at least have you licence to carry revoked permanently.  The right to carry comes with responsibility and you sir are incredibly irresponsible, immature and one step away from hurting someone and/or yourself.   I hope you have been stopped by now.
Also you have no idea what "Imperial" means and how free we are in this country compared to real oppressive governments. You need a reality check and should appreciate living in the United States of America.  you sound spoiled.

Just call and when I answer they hang up. I tried calling the number back and the operator said it wasn't a working nymber.... Whatever.. maybe that means they will stop calling..

these people are unbelieveably rude.victor would not take my number off list refused to let me speak to supervisor-told me i lied when i said i did not have a credit card-these people are real a***ole scum buckets.i have filed a complaint with the fcc too.

Called me about 9:30 am. Was voice recording saying nothing was wrong with my credit card but I needed to press 9 to possibly lower interest rate! I did press 9 but I got a recording saying invalid entry! I do not have a credit card and I am do not call list!!

They said the caller--one of the "Rachael at Cardmember Services" callers--is running a known scam and that the Federal Trade Commission is taking action; if *you* would like to add to the FTC's ammunition against these companies, call the FTC's consumer line at 1-877-382-4357. The FCC also said that a number of state Attorney Generals' offices are taking action, so it may be worth a consumer's time to check with the relevant AG office. According to the FCC rep and my own experience, if you connect to a live person and ask to be removed from the calling list, the person will either hang up on you or be rude (and, in my case, indecent). I'm reporting this info on several similar websites so folks dealing with this scam can take action.

I was verbally cursed today by this customer service rep when I pressed yes to speak to them and ask them why they are violating the Federal Do Not Call List. I'll not bother to repeat the response, let's just say rhymes with Witch and told me what I could do with myself...lol...I actually was fairly amused!

They just called our house and I did not answer, are they going to keep calling?

Let me go to Atlanta with you.  I figure a few .45 cal jacketed hollow point rounds should do the trick very nicely.  They're all crooks who need to be eliminated. Since the imperial federal government wont do their job, I guess it's up to some vigilantes to do it for them.

just got a call from this number telling me since i have more than 2000.00 in debt there going to lower my intrest rate.  I informed him that i do not have 2000.00 in debt on a credit card and he hung up on
