Number called tried to defraud of bank info,said he was in the military. It actually text at first. When calls sounded like the guy was in Africa

Ya, the guy told me he wanted to, all be polite, "do me in the rear."

I got a call (caller ID said PHONE SCAM)...they said to press 9 to lower my credit card interest.
I did and asked the man, nicely, to take me off his calling list. He procceded to tell me he couldn't do that, he just wanted to talk to me and give me alot of money. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He said he was the supervisor/boss. He then proceded to tell me he wanted to f**** my a**. Wanted to know where I was so he could, "just f**** you and give you alot of money."
I told him I would see my lawyer. I also told him I felt sorry for him for being in another country making $.10 an hour. Couldn't tell if he was Indian, Mexican or Asian.

I would have called the cops or something!!  REPORT THIS!!

Have you ever posted your info on Craigslist or something?  That's the easiest way for them.  Or they can use a generator to punch in random numbers until someone answers.

I received a phone call from this company stating that they had a legal matter to resolve with me and asked me my name but I didnt tell them.  Then they said they was looking for Brandy Green in regards to a legal matter.  I say go ahead.  So the gentleman asked me if I had discussed my options with anyone.  So I said what is your name, your companies name, and a phone number.  So he said let me transfer you to someone who can help you because apparently no one has contacted you about the information.  Another gentleman got on the phone by the name of Daniel Richard and said he was with Baker & MacKenzie's Law Firm and needed to know how I wanted to precede with  the matter in the court house or take care of it personally.  I asked for the account number and at that time he gave me the last four of my bank account number, so I said no I'm asking you for my account with your company and the name of the company.  He said CashAdvance and gave me the last 4 again and then gave me four number and asked if they were the last four of my social and I said no, they then immediately hung up the phone.

I'm in the Seattle area too and just got a call - asked me what color my bra was in order to take me off their call list.  I've rec'd several calls from the same scam, usually just hang up on the recording but this time pressed 9 to try to get taken off their list.  What jerks.

Got a call from 567-248-4455.  It's a credit card scam that I've asked to be taken off their call list before.  I pressed 9 to be connected to an operator and when I was, I asked "What do I need to do to be taken off your call list?"  Operator said "what is your number?" I gave it, he (or she, couldn't tell which) said I need to ask you one question  then you will stop getting calls.  What is the color of the bra you are wearing right now."   I wish there were some way to report these a***oles and get them shut down once and for all!!!

We have no credit card debt either.  I told him that we have no debt, that his scan was up because my caller ID actually labeled the number "Phone Scam," and asked to have my name and number taken off their calling list.  He said he couldn't do that, because obviously I wanted to lower my interest rate.  When I told him again that I had no debt, he asked me to take off my bra.  These people are disgusting.  I'd think they should be ashamed of themselves, but that would require ebing a real human being, which they obviously are not.

Was just called by this number, despite being on the 'Do Not Call' register and spending good money each month to be unlisted in phone directories. My phone stated this as 'Phone Scam' and so I did not pick up. I would like them to not call me period, ever.

My caller ID said "Phone Scam."  I didn't bother to answer.

Oh - now I'm at the bottom of the list I see I'm one of many.  Kudos to whomever got that ID on their line!

I usually get annoyed at people who say "they called and I didn't answer" as I don't think they're helpful, but this one made me laugh; the caller ID actually said "Phone Scam"!  No VM was left.

I have had calls from this number several times. My caller ID reads "phone scam". lol  Needless to say I don't pick up, nor do they ever leave a message.

This came up on my caller ID as "phone scam."

Just got a call from this number. The Caller ID said "Phone Scam"!!! Anyway, I copped an accent and sounded excited. he wanted my credit card number and how much I owed. I told him "five thousand dollah!" and said I needed him to hang on while I got my card. he said, "Take all the time you need." so I just put the phone down. Don't know how long he hung on but eventually I hung up the phone. A few minutes later he called me back and said, "Why did you hang up the phone?" I just laughed and hung up again. Then I got two more calls in quick succession from two different phone numbers. He was calling me back harrassing me. Didnt bother me. Why they don;t shut these guys down is beyond me. It's totally illegal. I do wonder how someone managed to get "Phone Scam" on the caller id, though.

PHONE SCAM    - No idea how the caller ID came up with that one, but I'm glad it did.

You gave some good information about what these scammers are trying to do.
I know too, that these con artists call using internet technology that allows them to disguise their phone number, although it may look like they're calling from a certain phone number on our caller I.D.,  they could be calling from anywhere in the world. What I don't understand about this one is it says PHONE SCAM, is that name showing up from the scammers or the phone company?

Got call from "Phone Scam", 567-248-4455 and reported it to the Do Not Call Registry ... that evidently has no teeth.

Rang but did not answer. Callerid said PHONE SCAM.

On Feb 23, 2012 at 5:23 p.m. We got a call from a scammer with a sense of humor, since the caller I.D. said Phone Scam! Maybe they think that will get someone's attention and will be curious and answer it. I wasn't that person, so didn't answer it.

Same thing - 567-248-4455 and caller ID said PHONE SCAM so I didn't pick it up and of course they left no message. I have had many calls in the past few weeks from varying numbers that did leave a recorded message, most of which was cut off by my answering service, but at the end of the message it was saying to press 9 to lower my interest rates, and that if I didn't take advantage of this great offer they were going to stop calling me - I wish!.

Big time PHishing SCAM for info under the guise of lowering your interest rates.  Do not give them anything...  Somehow they are saying that Experian contacted them to lower my interest rates.  I have a block on my Credit report and they are lying.  They just drop credit card names, like :"Your Visa, Discover, etc.  I don't have a Discover card, etc.  It was totally a scam to get your #'s on the backs of your cards so they could steal your cards and use them on the internet, etc. and they would have probably asked for me to verify my credit card #'s and balances..... but I was on the them and they knew it and hung up.  Unfortunately, I didn't look at the caller I.D. until I got off the phone and it said, "PHONE SCAM" as the caller. Moral of the story, always check your caller ID when in doubt and Google the # as my husband did here!

ask any unknown for a physical address and a phone # they'll hang up as for eliminating scumbag callers thats up to your government and they aren't  interested when they wrote the law they incluced loopholes mostly for themselves

I also saw "Phone Scam" on my caller ID and just had to answer and press 9.  Rep answers and I say, "Hi, did you know Caller ID shows you as ......."  He said, "Phone scam?"  "Yes ......"  "Yes, we're a professional phone scam."  I started laughing so hard and he said, "Why are you laughing?"  I said, "PROFESSIONAL PHONE SCAM?!  You guys have been doing this same spiel for years.  Stop calling me."  Then I hung up.  What morons!  I think the phone company changed the caller ID name and now they just have to play along until they set up a new number.
