I had a call from this number today. It came up as Ohio. I reluctantly answered and some east indian guy that could barely speak broken english started in on how my number had been hosen to recieve a free cell phone which didn't sound like the greatest phone. A Samsung phone with a camera and mp3 player(which I already HAVE the Samsung Instinct touch phone!) How I could get great airtime etc etc, or give the phone away as a gift... blah blah blah!
He said a bunch of his shpeal which I could not understand most of and wouldn't listen to me so I hung up on him. I have WAY more important things to do then listen to that crap. If I won somethin then send it to me. If you have my ph number legitimately then you would likely have my adress as well!!

Free cell phone give away!! Whatever.  I told the person on the phone that i was happy with the cell phone that i had and she insisted that the phone that they were giving me was fab. whatever... I thanked her for the call and reassured her that the phone i have was good enough for my needs and hung up.  within minutes i received another call on my cell from 331.. ya thats it 331... anyone else out there have this same experience??

called about credit debt consolidation i called back got an answer and told them i would keep calling as i did not have anything better to do (lol) and ask them if they were as tired of me as i was of them.
Reverse the call and annoy them for a change.

This is the -second- day they called asking for my room mate who wasn't home, and it's the second time I hung up on him (East Indian fellow). The number was blocked. I listened to him yesterday about his whole "Free Phone" gimmick, I should have told him "Do you want me to give you any personal information?" and if so just gave him a fake birthday or whatever he asked. I was thinking maybe July 22nd 1882 lol :P Regardless their annoying and of course as we already came too... A scam.

I got a call from that number and a guy got on saying he was from a debt consolidation company looking for a sean I told him I dont know any sean which I dont  and he hung up then I called back to see if anyone would answer they didnt. BIG SCAM

I received a call from these guys on Dec 4th. Said they were from Telus, offered me a free Blackberry & a great plan. All I need do is give them my birthday and I get it in 5 to 10 business days. So far no phone. They called again on the 23rd, but I didn't have my cell on me so never answered. I hoipe they try calling me again, so I can ask them where the hell my free phone is!

Exact same thing happened to me as it did Dennis and Ron. Called my cell (Lethbridge, AB) and nobody said anything. Then the call ended.

I've had two calls from this number, and although I don't remember answering, I've also had 331 call.  No talking, no tone. The only thing this call appears to do is charge to engage my line.  As far as I can tell, only the phone company makes something from this.

Land lines have caller blocking. Until cell phone companies provide caller blocking, their business model is basically sanctioned theft from their own clients.  I think a class action lawsuit against every cell phone provider in north america is totally justified.

I hear you, Dong. I'm in Surrey, and I just got a call from this number. I'm &%#$@ tired of these calls. Remember not to answer these calls - it's still your dime unless you have unlimited incoming!

I received a call from 567-252-0231. The person has strong Indian accent and told me they call from Telus. They said I can get a free phone if I blah....
I hang up rightaway. My cell is company phone and they appear don't have knowledege of it, so it shouldn't from carrier, it maybe a scam

I also received the almost completely garbled call from a man with a thick indian accent offering me a free Telus phone. If this is a scam (which I suspect it is) then it's fairly well planned.. the details of the plan which they are offering was very tempting (500mb data, free voicemail, free call id, 500 anytime minutes, etc) but the call itself was so shady.

I called 611 (Telus Mobility Support) and talked to them about it, and they had no record of any contests/giveaways, and no notes of any representative contacting me.

I'm 100% sure this is a scam.

I'd just want to report that I received a call (4.35) on 22 October, 2010 from "Solo" outlining that there is a promotion with their phone. I stopped the caller and inquire where they obtain this number from - very quickly he hung up the phone. I wonder how they obtain the number?

I just received a new AT&T cell phone number and have received calls from the following numbers that I haven't answered:
567-252-0231, 786-427-3567, 404-891-6827, 630-869-6658, 206-397-1523.  Someone has a comment about everyone of these numbers on this web site.  I doubt that these are random calls as I don''t receive these calls on my primary cell phone number.  Does any one know how these callers get the numbers and how they can be stopped?

I have been receiving calls from this number and when I try to call it back, no answer and a few days later it states this is not a working number. I googled the phone number and it looks to be on a fraud list.

Just got a call from 567-252-0231 at 10pm Boone answered when I said hello. So I sit there for a few seconds then told them to Fu@$ off!

Played along the first time... Made up stuff, talked about cookies, the weather, allergies to peanuts and my PET 5, 6 allergy that is lethal... wasted their time(like 20 mins) and finally yelled NOT INTERESTED.. idiot replies: "it's not over"...so they keep calling me, I keep calling phonebusters... idiots think they are clever... bell and solo provider MY A**...
A buddy cusssed them out last nihgt the 5th time they called, pretty funny as they kept saying "you have free phone" LMFAO.

Just got a call from the same voice everyone else heard, very strong accent, Pakistan, couldn't hear a thing so i asked him to call me back. When he did...the connection was worse. He said he was from Bell, i asked him from what City he was calling...he said, what do you mean? (LOL), i thought maybe he couldn't hear me or he was just totally dumb. I asked him again, what city are you from...he repeated, city? I said yes, Country, province, city you know? He said I'm calling from Trinidad, Mississaga, Toronto. I then said which is it? He said Toronto...of course by this time i knew something was fishy, actually when i heard our connection i knew there was something fishy. I then said what do you want? He said you just won a free cell phone, i said, ya ok sure...i have a cell phone. He then says, what type of cell phone from where...i just kept repeating i'm not interested goodbye. In a loud voice he says, Wait just a minute...i said, i'm hanging up you're a scam...he said to me, you're giving me fever and a headache, lmao. I think it's the other way around chum... i thought. Anyways, i said i was going to report him...he said good luck with that you can't do anything to me. I banged down the phone.

Anyone who is gullible or naive enough to give personal information over the phone is crazy in my books, It is indeed easy to be tricked/scammed, when in doubt research, or call the phone company. You have to know that giving out any personal info to anyone is unacceptable. Good luck, and be careful.

This same firm, is now also using 1-567-252-0232.  I did not answer when they called me cell phone in Alberta as I did  not recognize the number.
