I got the same call today from the same number who identified himself as Ryan Wilson. He threatened to put a black mark on my passport and put me in jail. He said that the supreme court of India sent several letters to me from the past one year and I cannot say that I didn't receive them. I asked him to have an officer see me in person. He said that he could do that but that officer would come down to arrest me and put me behind bars for 15 days while the investigation is still on. He asked me why as a responsible US citizen I am trying to bring a bad name to the US by not filing my A# with the government of India. I said I have done all the right things and have received my OCI card also legally. He had a Hispanic accent, not Indian or British or American. Then he pretended to talk to his superior to make it easy on me. Then he said I have to pay $847 to an "Amit Kumar" who is the solicitor in India via Western Union and I have to use the service of "Money in Minutes". I told him I will do so but I cannot be on the phone with him while I do this. He then offered to call me back in 30 minutes to verify that it is done. He very reassuringly told me mid way in the call "not to panic" and he will do everything he can to make it right. He seemed to know a lot about me unfortunately.

I have sent an email to the Police fraud investigation person of the city I live in. I would like to see how they respond to this.

I got a call from this guy called Ryan Wilson with an Indian and deliberate British accent, supposedly calling from Department of Homeland security. He called on my cellphone asking my wife. He had our address, her DOB and was asking why we did not update the USCIS A number? We said we did not know about this. He said we are going to black mark her and deport her back. We panicked, since this was totally news for us. He said the case is with Supreme court of India and they have penalized you for $867. After more mugging, he asked me if i want to pay by credit card or any other mode, like western union. I knew this was a scam. I kept talking and asked his info. He said keep holding, i will walkthrough you with the process of money transfer.
I called my HR right away after this and they said you did smart thing to call us and not transferring the amount!
This happened just a couple hours ago! People, beware, the USCIS and DHS doesn't call like this. They approach your HR/Petitioner first and they don't ask for cash money.
Be aware. Good luck!
