Yes, DNC is for telemarketers, meaning you or your boss should have used it to scrub your dialer, which "would be in your best interest" as sales people. You cannot possibly have a sales message so important that a person's right not to hear it is denied.

No, it shows that a telemarketer in Florida paid for a domain name. I could do that today with my lunch money and not bother to have a real company registered with any state agency. No one who oversees illegal sales calls is more worried about my cash flow than his own.

I ran a post on craigslist yesterday offering biz services.  i got a text from this number around midnight:

I replied back this morning....went to the library to access it.....it infected the library PC.

The phone rings twice and the caller hangs up-- quite annoying!

Just received a call from 570-218-4633.  It went to voice mail.  The message said " Your going to die".  I did *69 to get the number and found that it registered out of Berwick, PA 18603 location.  I do not think this is a real business trying to save me money as some have posted on this site.  My number is also on the do not call list so it is eligal for them to call in the first place.

PECO is alerting Philadelphia-area customers to a utility scam that claims customers can get help with their utility bills from the federal government.

Scammers are contacting customers through social media, text messages and U.S. mail, claiming a program from the Obama Administration can help pay their bills. Customers are then asked for their Social Security numbers and other personal information, and the scammer says payment will be made from a Federal Reserve bank account directly to their utility company.

PECO said customers should never give out their Social Security number or other information over the phone unless the customer has initiated the call. Customers who want to check the validity of a call should hang up and call PECO directly at 1-800-494-4000.

Customers also shouldn't allow access into their home from anyone who claims to be from PECO, or a PECO contractor, unless the visit was scheduled and the person has proper ID.

This is a legitimate company. The agents are just trying to pay their bills. They work for commission only and it's only $10 per customer they sign up. They sit on the dialer all day long getting yelled at and hung up on by nasty customers that they are only trying to help. If you get a call from a company you'd rather not hear from all you have to do is say you aren't interested and ask to be placed on the do not call list. If you hang up  with out requesting to be put on the dnc list you will be called over and over again until you utter those words. You remain on the call  list until you ask not to be called or are signed  up.

see the problem is that the human brain only registeres about 20% of information communicated verbally. what this person said is that he was calling from (supplier) about your ppl bill. the supplier is not associated with the utility company. you need to ask ppl about the energy choice program and they will explain the program and tell you that it's legitimate, but they cannot give information about the supplier. not to mention the fact that most of the people you talk to on the phones with the utility company are highly undertrained, so you have to spell everything out for them.

we are not "telemarketers" per se.. by definition, telemarkets are people that call you and ask you to buy a product or service. we are more like customer enrollment reps. this does not cost you a penny. it is FREE and it legitimately lowers your electric bill. if you are rude and hang up on us the dialers will put you back in the system and call you back. if you are willing to listen, then politely asknot to be called again, we will respect that. i'm so f****ng tired of people treating phone reps like garbage when we are just trying to HELP YOU.

We got a crazy call yesterday saying that they were coming to take us to jail, that we have all these bills owed & etc etc etc. DONT EVER FILL OUT A PAYDAY LOAN>>>>>EVER NO MATTER HOW HARD UP YOU ARE FOR CASH.TEHY JUST SELL YOUR INFO TO THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE.
