this number called today, Sept. 27, 2013. I guess they are at it again. We do not answer calls from unknown numbers. shows up as local call, I'm in SC not Kingston, PA.  

keep getting calls from this number..well fax machine does, but it comes up kingston pa. They tried hacking into my online account!!!!!!!

These clowns used to call my mom in Pa several years ago.  I checked up on them and their non profit and they are nothing BUT bad news.  I was also told by local Police that legitimate Police Dept would not do this when I reported the phone calls.  

Now, they have started calling again.  8/8:30 a.m. midday and at night including after hours.  My mom is being grtly disturbed by the calls that show up as a local call.  The first call of the day wakes her up.  She is medically ill.  The second call usually interrupts her meal and the last one gets her out from under her covers to answer phone, that is, until she sees who is trying to call again and again and again.  It is time to Report them again and this time file a complaint.

Just tried the 800 number. They "say" I'll be removed from "their" list but may still receive calls if i have a "prior business relationship" with companies they call for.  We'll see.

This is just not cool. Annoying, annoying, annoying. This number has called me at my home, at 8:45 PM. Not cool if you are already sleeping and then they say call this number to stop them from calling. Crazy. I am really not happy. I work all day. And go to bed early. Stop calling I am not interested. STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did not answer and they left no voice mail message.

Called at 3:59 PM ET. I did not answer and no message was left.

Received call from this number. Caller ID said Local Call. I picked up and there was nobody there do hung up.

Received call Saturday 1/5/08.  Caller ID said Local Call.  I did not pickup because I didn't know the number and it wasn't local.  The answering machine picked up and the call made a loud noise than hung up.

at my store we keep getting phone calls from this place, they never leave a msg & usually call before we are open. After doing some research (thank you sites like this) I was able to find out its some stupid narcotics donation thing.

Since they are annoying I asked the guy if that was what it was for, he said yes, and I asked him to take us off his list, since we keep getting calls and will not donate to something that isnt to trusthworthy.

I told him there are plenty of sites documenting this, and that it is some sort of scam. He obviously got pissed and said he did not believe me and hung up on me.

also if they are legit why do they just have "kingston pa" as they caller ID , not the organization's name?

They call our office ALL the time.  They try to trick the secretary into transferring the calls to the attorneys by using their first names.  Pain in the a**. Hope this works:

Telemarketing scam. The people may be polite or very rude.  DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

A registered ( doesn't mean legit ) non profit. ( This is so they can avoid the DNC list of rules.) Check out the PA state Non profit register for more info. These clowns took in $750,000 last year. Over $400,000 spent on advertising, $100,000 for the "Directors" salary and less than 70,000 sent on "training" programs for officers. Where's the rest? This is NOT a government agency. It is a telemarketer operating under the guise of a non profit "helping" to train officers! WHAT? Legit officers get all their training from the state at taxpayers expense. The "Director" actually works for the Montgomery County Prosecutors Office as an investigator. They should be investigating him! When they call I tell them I'm not interested and they STILL keep calling so now I tell them to hold on while I get my credit card and then just lay the phone down. See how long they will wait before hanging up. My personal best is 25 minutes! Don't waste your money. Your not helping any officers by donating to this scam. If you want to help, stick with KNOWN real organizations, Like your local police and fire widows fund or something like the Hero Scholarship Fund that REALLY help officers and their families.

These pests have called for a third straight day. I think they want a donation from the firemen.

Got a call from this number at 8:45 a.m. on a Saturday morning.  I did not answer the phone, but they hung up when the answering machine picked up.  Had to do *69 to find out who called ~ I will be getting "caller ID" and restricting it to only accept callers with an ID.

have been called by this "local" # every other day at all different times of the day and no message is left

i called this number back and it said it was a narcotics association thing, whatever that is and why it is calling me i don't know. it said that it wants members to join or something. it keeps calling every day.

It's the Pennsylvania Narcotics Officer's Association calling to solicit contributions for their annual fundraising drive which is still underweigh

These people keep calling all hours of the day. It is extremely annoying.

Called 7:24pm, Nov. 7th. I didn't pick up since this is a BUSINESS Line and this number is also on the nat'l do not call list.

It's 12:30 pm here and this number called my cell phone.  I answered it; after I said hello a couple of time, the person on the other end finally responded and then hung up.  Seems kind of shady if it's an organization soliciting donations......

I got the call today from 570-763-4685. Same symptoms as the previous callers indicate. I followed Bill's advice his from May 15 post and we'll see how she goes. Thanks, This service is great.

I have finally gotten through to this number and with great results I have been removed from their records and should not be receiving anymore calls. For those who are receiving these calls still you can call 1-800-891-5835 and follow the prompts to have your number removed.  Before doing so make sure that your number is not blocked as they will repeat the number that you are calling from.

received numerous calls from this number and when i answer it there is no one there.  I have spoken with the provider of my telephone service to find out what can be done about this

Says "local" on caller ID. Didn't recognize number so I didn't bother answering. I appreciate our law enforcement, but they get enough funding from the state and from the local community... I can't donate to every single cause out there. Must pick and choose.

This type of scam has been around for 30 years

I never answer my phone when this number shows up. All they say on their messages are "hello, hello, hello, hello, hello." It's is very weird! They call 3 to 5 times everyday, and right up until 9:00pm!

Called Again 9/22 at 7:12 PM EDT and 9/23 at 8:27 AM EDT
Seven times so far this month.
I do not answer nor do they ever leave a message. I do have phone records of every call they made to me with date and time stamp. There has got to be a place we can all report these abusive calls even if they are exempt from the DNC regs. How fmany times are we supposed to inform the SOB's that we do not support these bogus non-profits and do not want to be called again.

Thank you for this very useful information. If enough of us take the time to get the word out we may eventually put an end to this nonsense. Come to think of it...we ought to start our own non-profit solicitation. We could call it the Phone Abuse Victims Protection Association (PAVPA)We combat abusive telemarketers who operate just inside the law. Our mission is to develop a software program that not only detects all of the numbers we complain about on this site, but on the second call sends a command to their robocall or telemarketing machine and summarily erases all their files. I bet we could raise millions of tax exempt dollars in support of this effort ;-)),
