I have received this call on my cell phone almost every day for the last 2 weeks. I have not answered it since I did not recognize the area code or the number.  After reading these other complaints I definitely will not.  I wish someone could put a stop to this harrassment.

Guess 'm lucky. I never get a live person at all.  Just dead air when I pickup.  Happens 2-3 times a day.
Why can't they be stopped?

Apparantly the phone company can do this. I've dialed numbers in Canada where a person was waiting at a pay phone for my call but it didn't go through. The phone company had incoming calls blocked because the drug dealers where using them to communicate. In this case it shows that the number is not in service.

He just called me and I gave him my number and told him if he ever called me again and I would come there and cut his f*%@^#g fingers off!  We'll see how they take direct threats.

Have received two calls in two days from these people and every time I answer the phone, they disconnect!!!! When I call the number back, it says: "the number you dialed is not in service!"  WHAT!?! This should be illegal! You know they are scammers when they call from a number that really don't even exist!!! SCAMMERS......THEIVES......ILLEGAL!!!!

When I received the first call I told the caller I was on the 'do not call' list.  Caller said his name was John Smith, with the yellow pages, and I ask him not to call again.  I received several more calls (5 or 6)  in about 30 minutes and that is total harrassment.  There are a lot of complaints against this number, why is it still a working number?

Just called our business.  Wanted to update our online yellow pages ad.  We do not have a online yellow pages ad, I told the heavy accented guy.  He stated yes we do!  I said no we do not and to remove our name from your list, we are not interested.  He then got an attitude and said he would cancel our online ad and send me an early termination fee bill!  haha lol  Lots of luck buddy, good karma for you-NOT!!!!

NDNCR is only for directly dialed calls. If a computer calls you it doesn't matter. That's how they get around it. Thieves and scammers will always look for a way around whatever legislation passes.  do what I do and get a fax machine on the same line and have it answer when you see the number. They don't call me back.

I recieve at least 4 calls a day for two weeks now, starting at 8:23 am. If i call back # is not in service. Next time they call, i'm going to talk to them as a lonely woman, ready to give them ALL the fake information they want! The doorbell will ring and i'll tell them to hold on an chat away to my "visitor", then string them along while i get my credit card, oh, hold on i need to find my glasses and so on and so on until i can't stop from laughing at them!!! Let's see if they call back when after an hour they can't get any info!

I hear ya.  I answered once about 2 months ago. Caller said he was yellow pages and it was regarding the account.  I told him we weren't interested in renewing anything and if we were, we would contact them. I put him in my contacts as "Do not answer - yellow page scam".

I am listed on the do not call registry also.  Yesterday alone, he called 7 times.  It's 10:30 a.m. now and he has called 3 times since 8am.  Also, he does not leave a voicemail.

complete scam, been harassed by them 5 times a day for a couple of weeks now. here's their website: http://www.infoyellowpages.com. Tried calling their 800 number to find out more about them, but line is busy constantly.  i am speechless that such harassment  is possible - i think the people from this company should be in jail!! We have to stop this!!!!

Today I recieved two phone calls from telephone number 571-229-5657. It came up on caller ID Manassas VA.  i answered both calls and no reply from caller.

I recently began receiving calls from 571-229-5657.  Nobody answers when I pick up - just a brief silence and I can hear other operators talking to people in the background so clearly this one of those operations where they pay some trained monkey to sit and dial phone numbers all day.  It is frustrating that I cannot call them back to tell them to take me off their list.  I'm even on the National DNC registry!!

I just dealt with this same situation with SHELL VACATIONs calling me 15 times a day with an auto dialer, and there was never an answer. I reported it to the FCC,.

This number has called me 3:13 p.m today, 11:13 am today,  Yesterday at 3:11 pm, and 10:35 am,
Seems it just started AFTER I complained about the other number.

Coincidence??? I dont know but it is very annoying!

These pieces of crap keep calling my place of business and try to scam us out of information.

I've received three also and when I pick up it disconnects and when I call it back it says the # I dialed is incorrect. I find that odd since they called me with that #.

called and said he was verifying an  address...then says hes gonna send invoice..I told him NO..I didn't authorize any invoicing or service...and he hung up

Calls 3 times a day. Hangs up or i cant understand them

They said they're from yellowpages.com and want to confirm that the billing address is correct so they could send me an invoice for my listing. I never signed up for a paid listing. I told them I didn't owe them any money and they hung up. I called them back within 5 min. and a recording said the number is not in service. SCAMMERS

Multiple calls...no message left

What you should do is what I did. Buy a phone system, Panasonic has the features where you can enter a phone number so you can block the call from ever getting to you. A system with about 4 or 5 phones is under $100.00 dolars. You can find them at Sam's Club.

The list is useless as it only applies to residential numbers.  A telemarketer is legally allowed to call a business number and even if you say to stop they can continue to legally call.

I am in the same boat but there is nothing that can be done.  What they are doing, sadly is legal.

Turns out the do not call list is for residential numbers only.  I have a small business and am inundated with these calls.  Did lots of research only to find out do not call does not apply to a business number.

We can register our numbers till kingdom call and it is useless.

Until Feds enact a do not call list for businesses then we will get every idiot with a phone calling and are powerless to stop them.

Write to your congressman, or senator.  Maybe if you offer then a $100,000. Donation they might give a damm and enact legislation to stop the calls
