IRS doesn't leave phone messages like this. The IRS takes it very seriously before accusing anyone with Fraud. the word "Fraud" is not easily released in an audit process and I have been in hundreds Audits in my career.
Never give personal information. When the IRS wants you, they will usually send you a letter or even knock on your door, not call you and threaten you.

This is probably a job of a foreign scammer that thinks that the US authorities won't reach him.
Think about it, if you wanted to scam someone, what is better than scaring him and saying that you he has an investigation by the IRS. If you get scared from it, that scammer's access to your financial information is then very easy.

These guys are Asian Indian , because I cursed them in hindi and they responded.

Today date, 4/26/14  time 2:37pm    I got  voice messages from one of unknown male person. his messages was pretty much threatening to me. I quite didn't  understand what he said is he was trying to reached me since month and month and he said I ignored him. and he said I'm in trouble with tax invasion crime. and he is going to report with local police and I will be get arrested unless I response him with my attorney ASAP. Looks like this guy is either criminal person or prank call. need to be investigate, who  really is this  guy?

Been getting calls from the same number for two days with message claiming to be IRS that they have been trying to contact me for months and that i would be arrested and need my lawyer to contact them soon. Last message was with wishing me "Good luck!" if they don't hear back from me.

I got a call as well. Definately sounds a bit like an indian accent. The caller id doesnt say that its from the irs and the person said that i am primarily a suspect in a tax fraud case. The person also said that he tried to contact me for months and months, and left messages, but there are no messages, nor were there ever any previous calls. No irs mail, no previous calls, wrong caller id, same 571 area code that everyone is talking about being a irs impersonator.  He isnt getting any "legal arrest warrant" on me.

I've had 2 calls today 4/25/14...They said they are coming to my door to arrest me too!
Pathetic people!

They just called my work claiming to be IRS & someone was immediately coming to arrest someone (I was thinking the owner of business) , I called state police because it freaked me out and one of the troopers got the same call!

its not an indian accent.  its more like african.  I got a call today 4/22 and said that they are sending police to arrest me. ha ha ha

You have to complete an online form 1088C...  It takes about 5 - 8 mins to complete this complaint form and let us put this garbage to an end.

Actually they aren't subject to US law; not in any practical sense.    They are scammer/extortionists  working out of India.  They ignore US laws.  Don't talk to them; don't call them back.

Report 'em!

Received three calls today from 571-308-2451. Claiming that call is regarding IRS Fraud and arrest warrant has been issued. Called this number to find out who these basterd are... But no answer.  I have reported them to local sheriff's office.  I suggest that you do the same and put this number in Do Not Call List.... Then they will be subject to $$$$$$$$ law suite.

Annoying calls from this #..Wish they would get a real job. ..Claiming to be IRS. .& are issueing arrest warrants. .You have to laugh at these people. ...Oh and they have American names but the accent is Indian origin! !

It is not the IRS.  They do not call but mail letters.  Ignore the calls.

My moms always on top of my taxes if i owe anything, so i would THINK ITS FAKE. BUT I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE.
I received this message yesterday and they were trying to threaten me, I don't like being threatened. So i called back and asked for the "officer" that left me the message but he didn't let me talk to him, so he continued with his name. I said that message seemed like to be a threat, and he asked for my name and my phone number. I didn't give it to him, I'm only 22, and my mom handles my taxes, so he'll be hearing from me later cause I'm working.

Same call and awful English. He said I tried call months on months back, and he was with the tax fraud crim not crime agency. We were laughing at the voice mail it was so funny! Hope they catch him it also reads Vienna VA

If it was the IRS it would say so on you caller ID. When you ask questions they seem to hang up.  The IRS will not call you they will send you USPS mail.

I got the call from this number 5713082451 and person was threatening us that IRS has identified that we sent money to India without their knowledge so COPS will be coming to arrest me.

I got the same call today. Clearly its a scam!
