I also got a call on the 23rd, saying the same thing.  I called back and no one picked up.

Claimed to be from the IRS and said his name was Mike Jones. Said we have been chosen as a fraud case and that we cheated the IRS. Told us not to hang up phone and go to a nearby store and get a prepaid card to pay penalty fee. Very rude and had a thick Asian/ American accent. We knew this was a fraud so beware. My friend told me about this website which informed me about the other complaints of this number.

The guy that answers this number is a jack***.  He kept asking for my address and I told him I work for the federal government and he would have my address if he googled my phone number.  What a frigging moron - he hung up when I asked some real wise a** questions like "would you like me to give you my social security number, or, wait I got it!  I can give you some debit card numbers with the PINs - would you want that?  I want to co-operate fully......."

Claimed I owed them a large amount of money and if I didn't pay within 45 mins the police would be there to arrest me and I would be in jail for 90 days. And he advised me not to go into details with my family because they would start calling him and he couldn't release private matters with anyone else. And he told me all my personal properties would be seized and my bank account would be frozen He called me a couple times. I called him back and I told him I was at the police station and he asked which one was I at. I end the call at that point. He hasn't called back since

The IRS still uses ink and paper if they have a problem with tax delinquency. Their agents do not ambush and terrify citizens like cheap hoodlums by phone or email. Here's the word from the *real* IRS, excerpted:

WASHINGTON ? The Internal Revenue Service today warned consumers about a sophisticated phone scam targeting taxpayers, including recent immigrants, throughout the country.

Victims are told they owe money to the IRS and it must be paid promptly through a pre-loaded debit card or wire transfer. If the victim refuses to cooperate, they are then threatened with arrest, deportation or suspension of a business or driver?s license. In many cases, the caller becomes hostile and insulting.

... "Rest assured, we do not and will not ask for credit card numbers over the phone, nor request a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer,? says IRS Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel. .... Werfel noted that the first IRS contact with taxpayers on a tax issue is likely to occur via mail.

The Federal Trade Commission echoed the warning this month:

"The Treasury Inspector General for Taxpayer Administration (TIGTA) warns that crooks posing as Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officials are contacting people claiming they owe taxes. I got the same recording twice on April 23, 2014, once in the morning and again after noon. Same strange accent, same message as all the other comments. He stated his name was "officer" Jason Miller. I didn't call back. Might call from my cell dumb-phone to get more info, if I get bored...or interested.

Sounds like a trend.....i called back wanting his ID # ..he told me he had already giving me everything and i needed to speak better english and started getting very pissy...i told him he wasnt from the IRS..he hung up on me...jerk

Just got this and the idiot actually left a message on the machine.  Can't understand half of what he says.  I'm officer so and so and don't disregard this message....you will need an attorney... Scum of the earth these people.

got a message stating in a weird voice that "I am from the irs and this message is for you" then unintelligible talking until he starts to say a number and hangs up. very weird

I received the exact same message.  Prior to actually returning his call, I googled his name and this phone number.  Thank you guys for posting about officer Jason Miller.  Apparently he keeps changing his phone numbers.

I got an officer Jason Miller call. He left a voicemail threatening me. He said I would be sorry if he didn't hear from me or my attorney.

I received a call from a "Sargant Jason" who claims he was from the IRS.  (Imagine that 2 days after tax deadline)  The number he called from came up on my caller ID and he gave me the same number to call back on.  But when I called that number A) by hitting redial B) with the number he gave me that I wrote down, verizon wireless answers and says the number has been disconnected or no longer in service.  Hmmmmm
