I got an email from "S" .  I'm selling an antique china cabinet in Los Angeles on Craigslist.. He says "Still up for sale and no dent Respond to Jefferybrowna@gmail.com"  No dent? What a fool!

Selling a motorcycle on craigslist.  Message arrived from Jeff Brown jefferybrowna@outlook.com saying for me to reply to a different email than the craigslist one.  He sent me a 'fake' email that looked like it came from paypal for the price of the bike plus $700.  He then asked me to Western Union the $700 to the shipper.  I messed with the guy, told him I went to Walmart and sent a Walmart Store to Store money transfer, he replied with complete frustration of "F**k.. Walmart" :)  He obviously had no way to get to Walmart since he is not in the United States and if he did drive to a Walmart maybe he wasted enough time that he couldn't scam anyone else.  The 'shippers name' he said was Jamil Pannah.

He demanded a picture of the receipt.  LOL.  The guy was so frustrated, LOVE IT.  I really wanted to scam him back.  I might try to 'send his money' back to him, all of it, but tell him it will cost $20 extra and that he needs to send me the $20 using Walmart Store to Store before I'll send him his $2500 back.  We will see if I can scam the scammer :D

Funny thing, in my craigslist ad I clearly write
"Sorry scammers, I'm not interested in a cashiers check and having a shipping company meet me to pick up the motorcycle. :)"

Same number contacted me about a horse I have for sale. I love when they want to send money for the ITEM.  I so hate people like this. I am sure they do scam some poor unsuspecting folks, probably people that really need the money too.

Same individual responding today to craigslist furniture ad as previously. Still trying to run same scam:

I got a craigslist reply from these scammers about a BMW for sale, September 2013, same old lies and promises, sounds like your POTUS

I got the idincal message miss spelled pay pal and everything

I received a message from this phone number also for a craigslist add I believe this is phing scam wanting paypal account ID ect.

You are posting a different number....

Craiglist spammer trying to collect valid phone numbers and text messages

Shortly after posting a bedroom set for sale I received the following email:
"Hey ??? Just text my sister number 571___488__9071 with the name and price of this craigslist ad... She want to buy it immediately"

Like many of you on this string, the broken English was a red flag as was the request for price since it was so clearly listed as part of my ad.

Thanks to all for putting this out there!  Clearly this is a bona fide SCAM!!!

Below is what I received via email. Email had no "sender info" as well, which was a big flag.

Just got the same txt and email in regards to a posting that I have put on CL.  It seems as tho there a quite a few of these peeps out there.

Just received an email this morning regarding Craig's List ad that I just reposted yesterday: "Hey, Just text my sister number 571_488_9071 with the name and price of this craiglist ad...She want to byit immediately". So I decided to check out the number on Google......glad I did.......Thanks for the posts everyone!!

In response to craigslist ad...Do you have a spare tire & jack?  Text reply to 571-488-9071.  Checked the # to determine why a VA area code would be interested in a vehicle in TX.  I did not respond.

I received an email in response to a jeep posted for sale in MI on craigslist.. It reads: "Do you have spare tire and jack for this craigslist ad??  text (this number) now"  

I've learned early to check the phone numbers on sites like this one before I bother with a reply.

Glad that people take time to post scams like this so that others have a way of checking when they get these notes or calls from these scam idiots.
I got email from same idiot about car ad on craigslist. Asking if I had spare tire and jack for the car and wanted me to text the answer to 571-488-9071.  Won't waste my time doing that.

Same exact email happened to me after a CL post for a car for sale.  The number was 571___488-_-9071. He or she wanted to know if  tire came with the car. Stupidly, I texted back "yes" and got the same "I'm hearing impaired on a boat in Alaska" email requesting Paypal.  

Really? You're hearing impaired but you are working for Haliburton. You're working for Haliburton but you're buying a $1500 car.  In SC. SURE THING BUDDY. I texted back, "Do not ever text me again. I am turning your number over to the police." Quiet so far for 24 hours.

I have a truck on craigslist in VA and have received 2 of these odd messages from this number.  I know better, but I wonder how many people he's scored with.....
