I got a call from 1-571-918-6490..saying that I paid my Avon bill in the wrong account and proceeded to tell me the correst account,I didn't buy it,told him off.I immediately checked my Avon account and owed nothing and gone to right account-this is a scam,I immediately notified Avon.

I am in Montreal and I got a call from that number,. It cut off right at the moment I've answered. Reading the previous posts, I guess it is from Travelocity, since I booked a flight with them one hour ago.

Boiler room fraud or spoof i have no dealings with ANY of the afore mentioned companies so the only reason to contact me would be fraudulent in nature.

This is the baggage tracing service of Air Canada, out of Vancouver, BC.  They lost my bag for five days, so I've had a lot of contact with this number!

Seconded.  They called me about a change in my flights.  It's Travelocity and legit.

received 3 calls in a row from them in the space of one minute. Answered the 1st and 3rd times. No one answered both times.

These people call me daily, multiples times a day. They never leave a message. An Indian man is always on the other line, twice when I have actually answered, asking for Scott Strickland or MaryAnn.... Weird. I have had this number for 8 years and have never known anyone by these names.

I had the same thing happen to me!! Said they were from Avon & that I had money owing to me from them. I was to call at the number given & give them my bank account number & they would deposit the money for me. TOTAL SCAM!!

This is a call centre in India that calls from the same # for many different companies.

My call was from Air Canada to make sure I received my lost baggage. If nervous ask for their # and tell them you will call them back. Often it is a different # they give you to call.

Do not have them call

Got a call and they left a voice mail saying my credit card was fraudulent and to call back and that it was urgent.  I then got a call from the hotel I had paid a room for someone saying the same thing.  Later the manager said it seemed fishy and that he would honor the card.  The charge was already on my card on the website and nothing was wrong with my credit card.

Fraud they ask for ur id at the end after they make you believe you have been frauded...report to police

My message to Travelocity:
I received a message on my home phone at 11:30 PM while I was out of town. I was asked to call 571-918-6490 to confirm purchase of airline tickets for a name I could not make out. I have made no such purchase so I suspect this is a scam, yet a Google search shows that this number is sometimes connected to Travelocity.
Can you confirm?

Indian speaking male is calling trying to make me pay for something I paid for with another credit card.  I book a hotel through Travelocity and when I got there they said that the card Travelocity issued me was blocked and I had to use another card.  This man is saying that the room is prepaid by Travelocity and is trying to get me to pay Travelocity even though he knows they blocked the card.  Everyone knows that you cannot prepay a hotel room and the card is just used to hold the room and is charged to the card when you leave.  My paper work from the booking even said that.  This guy is doing nothing but harassing me.

This is a legit call and company. It was Travelocity for a trip I had planned and there were some schedule issues, and needed to be addressed before my flight.

I definitely got a call from Travelocity to book the hotel for my trip, I had asked them to call me back.

I think the people that are posting the call is from Travelocity are part of the scam. I am also in Canada and have no dealings with Travelocity.

This company called at 6:44AM!!!! Left a message saying they were from AVON?!?!

This number is from Travelocity. I had just spoke with a rep, then he called me back.

571-918-6490 is Air Canada Central Baggage, at least for me. They lost one of my bags and left a message just to confirm if I had received them. Legit.

This is travelocity fraud department to check if you made a purchase on their website with your credit card. It's not a scam.

Interesting considering it has been the number of people calling for a very specific business besides air canada. it is based in virginia.

Received a call from this number but let it go to voicemail.  It was Air Canada's baggage department, asking whether or not I'd received my bags.  This was a legitimate call as I flew with them in the last week and my bags were delayed.

I jammed up.  A message was left, but I didn't see it before I posted the above comment.  It was in fact from Travelocity about a change in a scheduled flight.  The call was legit.  Sorry.

Called my cellphone, I declined the call, they left no message.  Clearly a telemarketer.  Only recently did I begin to get calls from telemarketers on my cellphone.  No relief in sight yet.

This is a scam run by AmeriWins a non-us company through Comcast phones. Advise your friends not to answer it or get their bank accounts cleaned out.
