I answered.. some guy to solicit for a veterans group.  He said the call would be recorded.  I've found if you also ask if you can record the call, most telemarketers got nuts and quickly remove you from their list.  I asked if he was alright with my recording the call.  It confused the computer that was really talking and said "I am using a computer for quality assurance".  I then asked again "then you don't mind if I record the call as well".  The system didn't know what to do with that.  No more talking.  Took about 20 more seconds to disconnect.

They called.  Did not recognize number, so left it to go to VM.  No message left.

Just called the house. If this is a veteran's group, it's obviously not legit and how annoying they are calling on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. I guess they figure people are more willing to give now? Both my husband and I are veterans - give to groups you solicit and support. Not the other way around.

Caller ID says V52415224400298. I have no idea what that means.

Just don't answer the phone. The creeps are out in droves. The number you are all talking about shows up as Manassas on my caller Id and they hang up. I work at a college and these dumb a** people try to tie up the phone asking for people who have been gone for years. Makes me feel good that they got sold a very bad list.

Seems like almost ALL unknown callers are some sort of scam.  Such folks make millions of calls in a day, and there is no one stopping them from being a total nuisance.

Do not give money to them because only pennies of it will actually go to the charity. They call, I pick up the phone and hang up the phone without saying a work.  Then they call again. Their so annoying.

Received five successive calls from 571-921-9231 on 05/15/2014 at 8:02 PM, caller name ID read as "unavailable." Since they called a week ago, I blocked this number through AT&T U-Verse so it has zero chance of ringing through.  Here is some friendly advice, be aware that for charitable donation solicitations made over the telephone, only pennies of your dollar actually go to the charity.  If you want to support an American Veterans support cause, then send your donation directly to a 501(c)3 organization and then they will receive 100% of your charitable dollar.

Received this call at 8:00pm. I answered and stayed on the line. Nothing was said and the caller or whatever it was hung up.

Received call from this number on 05/13/2014 at 8:15pm.  No message left.  

I've received this call several times now, within normal calling hours. Caller id states manassas va,  Just called it. Man answered,  normal answer, not business answer.  I hung up. Funny, received another one from a 516 area code last week, called it, foreign young man answered.  Said he never called me. Same number called my cell too.  Lots of folks dialing the wrong number these days. Very interesting!  

The caller said he was from American Veterans Support Foundation. I asked him if he was a paid solicitor, and he said yes so I told him to remove me from their list.  This is another "charity" that pays over the bulk of donations received from phone solicitations to the paid solicitors.

Received call yesterday from them, did not answer left no message. Sick of these calls.

I never trust a phone number that refuses to leave a message or identify themselves via caller id. But I did get a chuckle that you are from man a** as.

First, I did not give you a thumbs down, I do not play silly games like that.  It could have been anyone, and not necessarily someone who posted on this thread. Second, I certainly am not "touting the charity and it's affiliates," quite the opposite. Do your homework, make your own decision.

Being naturally suspicious after 25 years law enforcement, I want people to know I did some looking around after SE Wisconsin gave me a thumbs down, since that was the only post after mine when I looked at the number again. 1, S E has copied and pasted their message on several different complaint web sites touting the charity and it's affiliates, since these are not unilateral sharing sites and the narrative is exactly the same, that is my conclusion. 2, Did a search on this charity and the solicitor, the charity is slammed in an investigative report, and the solicitor is given an F by the BBB as well as other complaints. Do your homework, make your own decision.

called yesterday , left no message - it looks like spring is here and all the spammers are budding out

Must have touched somebody's nerve, shame people can't take the truth, doesn't bother me, glad I annoyed them tho. I also may point out that these scam callers look at these sites and try to validate the calls in a post saying they won a prize, got a free trip etc. I've seen those in the past as well. There are no good charities or solicitations if they call after legal hours. I just climbed back on to check if there was any new info on the caller FMI.

Received a call from 571-921-9231 on 05/07/2014 at 8:18 PM, caller name ID read as "unavailable." The call as blocked by my PhoneTray Pro software for originating "after hours." Someone reported to PhoneTray that the call concerned solicitation of donations for a veterans charity.  I do not know if this is a telephone number now being used by Good Charity Inc. / Insight Teleservices, Inc. / Brian J. Maiorana, but that entity has called me in the past.  A contract between Good Charity and Insight allows Insight to retain 85 percent of the funds it raises for the charity.

I've been on DNC since it began. They are totally useless and not worth the anger you feel. Remember only law abiding people obey the law. In the beginning when I began filing complaints, it got to the point that the scams were somehow getting into my DNC, I guess just entering my phone number, and entering their number as mine. So when I tried to file a complaint I got a message I couldn't complain on myself. Of course there are no live people, or emails to talk to and resolve the issue. DNC is another Government waste of our money, and should be closed down as a useless project.

I was getting calls from Va 703-372-0770 and 703-348-6523, and I had those numbers blocked. Now this new number comes up also showing from Va. I never answer if I'm near the phone if I don't know the number, and they don't leave a message.

Called my biz cell phone. Also I'm on both state and fed DNC lists.  What gives??
