Prank Call
Received a call from this number 1-571-932-2010.  The "officer" stated he was from the "IRS" and we owe money.  I have called him back and told him he is NOT the IRS, remove my number, etc.  Swore at me "F@** You".  Nice

This is a SCAM. DO NOT believe a word they say. Call your local FBI or Attorney General's office and report them immediately. They told me I was going to be arrested in 48 hours and then they said I would be arrested immediately. The guy had a very thick MIDDLE EASTERN accent. He claimed to be an "officer" with the IRS. LIAR!!! The IRS DOES NOT make phone calls and threaten people. They do that in letters and they have their own officers to come, NOT your local Sherriff's office.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

The reason they're not in jail is because they're very hard for the authorities to locate.  If they have foreign accents, you can bet that they're probably not in the U.S., which makes it even harder.  Nothing against domestic scammers (did I just say that?), but when it comes to the scam game, overseas scammers beat them hands-down.  Plus, they have the added security of international treaties that prevent our law enforcement agencies from effectively tracking them without going through tons of diplomatic red tape.

International extortionists are also much more prone to be engaged in money laundering (not that the domestic scumbags get a pass on this).  They don't want your money so much as they want access to your bank account so they can move money in and out without being traced.  If they want you to load up a pre-paid card of some sort, it's so the transfer can't be traced to them.  They may even be able to reload the card at will if they get enough info, furthering their laundering activities (don't quote me on that though).

Bottom line....money laundering, if that is what they're engaged in, is usually done to mask much more unsavory illegal activities that none of us would ever knowingly give a dime to!

guy's name of Agent Robert Patrick who said he was an IRS agent in the tax client unit saying I owed over $2800 - I asked
where I should send it - he said to call him as soon as I had the money and then he would give me an address to send the money. The long and short of this is I called the real IRS and got the Tax Investigation Fraud Unit - TIGFTA  give them a call at 800-366-4484. They will investigate scams like the ones from 571-932-2010.

Received a partially garbled, unprofessional and threatening message from someone identifying them self as Officer Eric Foster with the IRS.  He had an unidentifiable accent.  He stated the phone number was a hotline to him.  It was obviously a scam and not a legitimate call from the IRS.  Do not call this number as they will most likely fish for personal information or you may be charged an exorbitant amount just by calling the number.

I don't pick up calls from numbers i do not recognize but I got a voicemail from "officer Eric Foster". He said the exact same thing to me and threatened me if I do not call them back and wished me good luck in whatever will happen to me for not responding. Creep! If it was that important there would be written notification sent to you and signed by legal authority and calling you by your name and not "YOU". I hope and pray none of you fell for that BS...they could be stealing your identity so becareful!

I received a voice message this morning from 571-933-2010. The first part of the message I was unable to understand. The man had a very thick accent. I thought it sounded Jamaiican but could be wrong. He said his name was Officer Eric Foster and that if he didn't hear back from me or my lawyer immediately he wished me good luck then vague threats, I took it to obviously be a scam and ignored it.

571-932-2010 called 5/29/14 at 2:19pm and left a threatening voice message on my cell.  Sounded like a computer generated foreign voice (very difficult to understand), claimed to be an officer, threatened if I did not return the call that all kinds of bad things would happen to me.  Needless to say, I did not respond.

I received a call at around 9:30 am today morning from a man with a very weird accent and he actually got my name right! He said there were serious tax issues against me and that I have to call some Officer David Williams, who will fill in the details for me. The number he gave me was the sane one he called from , 571- 932- 2010. He said that if I do not return this call within 45 mins, a case would be filed against me.
